=THREE=Breakfast=

Sunlight slowly streamed in through the windows of Virgil's room, and Logan opened his eyes, scrunching his nose and immediately slipping his eyelids shut again.

He could tell it had to be at least around ten in the morning, though the time didn't matter, since it was the weekend. So Logan just sighed and tried to get himself in the mindset to sleep again. He ultimately failed, and accepted just staying in a half-awake state until his boyfriend woke up.

Thinking about Virgil, Logan looked over at him. He was peacefully asleep, facing the ceiling, mouth slightly parted and hair covering his eyes. The two had moved away from each other in their sleep, as was natural, and the only way Logan was in contact with Virgil was that his arm was laying underneath his back. That arm was numb at this point but he didn't mind, so he just turned on his side and wrapped another other arm around his love. He took a breath through his nose after laying his head against his shoulder, breathing in a smell that could only really be defined as Virgil.

It was Logan's favorite smell.

Just then, Virgil stirred, and Logan quickly lifted his head up to look at his face. He still held a calm expression and his eyes remained closed, though it seemed as if he was deciding whether or not he wanted to wake up. Logan just kept staring at him, smiling and soon beginning to blush at just how attractive he really found Virgil. He had a sharp jawline and one single freckle, right at the tip of his nose. It was the cutest thing in the world, Logan thought, even if Virgil thought it looked a bit odd.

Virgil finally opened his eyes, and a blush quickly formed on his cheeks too, as he saw his boyfriend staring at him.

"Hey there, Logan," Virgil greeted groggily, half-smiling and still half-asleep. Logan reached a hand up to his bangs, gently brushing them out of his eyes before kissing his forehead.

"Good morning, my dearest, love."

"Mmh... you're always so sappy in the mornings."

Virgil turned on his side, and the two quickly shuffled closer together, resuming the same cuddling position they had been in when they fell asleep, the only difference being that Logan and Virgil were at eye-level. They leaned their foreheads together, breathing softly, feeling the hot breath of each other hitting their faces. After some moments of silent cuddling, Logan moved his hand to Virgil's cheek, gently rubbing his thumb against it twice. This had become their little way of asking for silent permission to kiss each other over the years, and just like he usually did in this situation Virgil leaned forward and locked their lips.

The kiss was slow and short, but it made Logan feel the same as it always did- happy. Loved. Cared for. A feeling he always got from being around Virgil, and one that he cherished greatly. It was an amazing feeling- it sent a tingle up his spine and heat to the tips of his ears. It made him feel like he could melt on the spot, which he did, letting the hazy world around him drift away as he kissed Virgil. They pulled apart after some time, leaning their foreheads against each other's and breathing just as softly as before.

As time passed, both stayed in this exact position, barely even shifting around for at least half an hour. They began to slowly wake up fully as the minutes went by, and eventually both opened their eyes around the same time, quickly making eye contact. Logan leaned forward and gently kissed Virgil's nose, the latter scrunching up his face and slapping Logan gently on the side. Logan chuckled.

"How'd you sleep?" Logan asked, running his fingers gently up and down Virgil's back.

"Pretty good. I'm still pretty tired, though, but that's just because of my... thing. What do you call it? Oh, right, circadian rhythm. How'd you sleep?"

"I slept..."

Logan paused. How had he slept? It had taken him at least a good hour or two to fall asleep because he had been questioning life again. What was the specific question..?

Right. Would he be better off with the dark sides?

He still didn't have an answer, honestly, and he wasn't sure if he wanted one. But he was happy here, holding his boyfriend close to him, and that was something he didn't want to lose. Logan knew if he left the light sides Virgil would be extremely angry at him. He wanted to keep Virgil close, and he also wanted to keep the amazing feeling of having someone care about him close, too. Logan truly did treasure Virgil more than anything else in his life. Far more.

"...Fine. I slept fine."

"What was with the hesitation?"

"Nothing, I just dazed out for a moment. You know how I get around you."

Virgil blushed gently and rolled his eyes, smirking. "Yeah, yeah. I will never stop calling you a sap."

"I know that very well, V."

"Oh yeah, that reminds me, I'm pretty sure your arm is asleep because I've been laying on it all night."

"Hmm. Well, that just gives me an excuse to stay here with you for a few more moments."

"...Me laying on it isn't gonna make the blood come rushing back to it."

"I know."

"Logan, isn't that unhealthy, though? To have a limb be cut off from circulation?"

Logan looked Virgil right in the eyes and brought his awake hand to his cheek. He cupped Virgil's face, eyes softening very quickly. He waited a moment before he said anything, just taking in the beautiful sight that was his boyfriend.

"Virgil... you make me forget any sense of rationality and logic."

Virgil's face reddened immediately. "...Holy shit, dude."

"I love you, so much. I don't need reason around you, because you are reason. You are rationality. You're so... stunning."

Virgil mumbled a quick "I love you too," before burying his head in Logan's chest to hide his quickly reddening face. Logan chuckled, blinking himself out of his sappy mood and carding his hand through Virgil's hair.

"Bro, you gotta stop being so poetic, you sound like Roman," Virgil spoke, voice muffled by Logan's shirt.

"I do seem to fluster you often with my words, don't I? Well, I will admit I really enjoy seeing you flustered."

"Shut it."

"Right."

Virgil looked up after that and Logan gave him a chaste kiss on his jaw. Both then sighed, Logan from happiness and Virgil from slight resentment to his boyfriend who knew exactly how to make him blush at any moment.

"Speaking of Roman... we should get up. He's going to be spending all day in his room I presume and we don't want to worry Patton the same way that he is." Logan said.

Virgil scoffed. "I'm not leaving bed. I don't wanna talk to him."

"Why not?"

"Did you not even hear him last night? I can't believe he's accepted Janus. I don't wanna look at his face right now."

Logan sighed, gently. "Well... you still need to eat, and I believe I can smell Patton cooking at this very moment. How about I go downstairs and I'll bring our food up here?"

"That works for me."

"Perfect."

Logan gave Virgil one more quick kiss on the cheek before he rolled away from him, having to wait a few moments for his arm to wake up. Once it was able to move he hoisted himself out of bed, quickly flattening out his hair in Virgil's mirror before walking out of the room and down the stairs. There, he saw Patton, cooking alone.

"Good morning," Logan greeted as he walked into the kitchen. Patton turned around and gently smiled at him, before looking around the rest of the room. He sighed, and turned back to the stove.

"Good morning! The food will be done in a couple minutes," Patton informed.

"Take your time."

A moment of silence.

"...Uh, do you know if anyone else is coming to breakfast?"

Logan sighed. "I doubt Roman will be emerging from his room today, and I believe Virgil is still a bit angry."

"Oh. Did you talk to him?"

"Yes, I did, though his opinion on the dark sides has always remained the same. I doubt there's anything that any of us could do at the present moment to change his views."

"Yeah, you're right... uh, would you mind bringing Roman and Virgil's food up to them? If Roman doesn't answer his door just leave it outside his room."

"I can do that. I actually also promised Virgil I'd eat breakfast with him so I'm going to go and do that. I'll bring our plates down when we're finished."

"O-Oh, okay! That's fine! I'll, uh, I'll go eat breakfast with J- ...yeah."

"Alright."

Patton finished cooking after those few words and quickly proportioned the food out, handing three plates to Logan, who he carefully balanced between his two hands. He thanked Patton, and then began walking upstairs.

He went to Roman's room first, which sounded completely silent from the outside. He knocked.

"Roman? I'm placing your breakfast on the floor outside of your room. You should at least consider leaving your room soon, I doubt you have any form of hydration in there."

No response. Logan placed the plate of food on the floor and walked away.

He got to Virgil's room, and closed the door behind him as he entered. Virgil had the blankets pulled over his head, but when he heard the door close he sat up and let the covers fall from his face.

"Why did you have the blankets up like that?" Logan asked as he walked over, joining him in bed and placing a plate of food on Virgil's lap.

"Because the sunlight outside is bright."

"Well... yes, of course it is."

Virgil and Logan ate for the next about twenty minutes, chatting as they did so, as always. When the two finished Logan got up once more and took both of their plates, promising to return quickly.

He made it downstairs and was honestly not surprised when he saw the sight in the kitchen. Patton and Janus were both there, leaned up against the counter, talking. But when Patton noticed Logan enter, he suddenly stuttered through his sentence and turned away from Janus.

"I- oh, uh, Logan! Hi! I was just, uh, helping Janus with something. It's nothing."

Patton grinned nervously. Logan raised an eyebrow, as that was obviously a lie. Was Patton possibly ashamed of being Janus's friend? But why would he be?

"...Sure," Logan said, just deciding to go along with it even if he did sound skeptical. "I was just coming downstairs to give you Virgil and my plates from breakfast."

"Oh, okay! You can just stick them in the dishwasher."

"Alright."

Logan walked over to the dishwasher and loaded the two plates in, not being able to help himself from listening in on Janus and Patton's conversation as he did this.

"What were you saying, Patton?" Janus asked.

"Oh, uh..." Patton was silent for a moment. He lowered his voice, probably being a bit too aware of where Logan was standing. "I just- I don't know. I wish things could be back to how they used to be."

"I think we're all thinking that right now, Pat, but I get it. I'm sure things will work themselves out."

"I know that. But I just miss normal. The entire episode we filmed yesterday just felt so horrible, it was so sad and the outcome was so bad. No one was happy. I wish there was something we could have done to stop the arguing, but... we couldn't. There was nothing we could have done. And I really don't like that."

"I don't mean to interrupt, but Patton," Logan said suddenly, inputting himself into the conversation, "I was trying to help during the filming but no one listened to me. When you were basically telling Thomas that he couldn't do good while feeling good without being a selfish person, I was providing information on an experiment that showed humans naturally feel good after doing good for others. If you would have read my lowdowns then you could have prevented that entire argument from happening, and we wouldn't be where we are now."

Patton blinked a few times. Janus raised his eyebrow at Logan, looking him up and down.

"Well... eh. It's just... it's different now." Patton said awkwardly, shrugging off what Logan had said. Logan huffed and closed the dishwasher, quickly walking out of the kitchen, knowing no one was going to listen to him in there either.

As he walked down the hallway after getting to the top of the stairs, though, suddenly someone came running up the stairs after him- Janus.

"Janus? Do you require something?" Logan asked, lowering his voice in case Virgil could hear them from his room.

"No, but it's clear you need something."

"...Excuse me?"

Janus sighed. "You're clearly a bit down at the moment, Logan, that's obvious. No one is listening to you. Don't you want to do something about it?"

Logan was silent for a moment. He blinked.

"What are you implying? Because I am perfectly content just the way I am."

Janus raised both of his eyebrows, stopping himself from snickering.

"Wow, Logan. Clearly you've forgotten that being deceit has granted me the power to tell what is and isn't a lie."

Logan didn't have anything to say to that honestly. Was he... not happy with where he was in life?

...No. No, he wasn't.

"I'll leave you be, for now. I'll see you around."

Janus turned around and walked down the stairs, leaving Logan to idle alone in the hallway. He stayed there for a moment, not sure what he was supposed to do with himself. Eventually he decided to just not think about what happened because Virgil was probably wondering where he was.

He didn't like feeling bad emotions. But Virgil made him feel the good ones. And he wanted to feel those, in that very second. So he was off to go feel those.

If Janus actually does canonically have that "power" then everyone else would be in a lot of trouble lmao

See ya in the next chapter!🤷‍♂️

(NOTE ADDED 8/28/20 - Hey. Future Maxx, here. So from here on out I will admit Virgil starts to get a little toxic. I promise that he does not stay this way for the entire book, and I do not see his canon character as the way he is portrayed for the most part. This is just a heads-up.)
