=ONE=The Beginning=

"Not that any of you care, but I am unharmed, and I don't want to talk about it."

That's what Logan "Logic" Sanders said precisely one hour and twenty-four minutes ago. And now, here he sat, alone in his room. Pretty much alone in general, actually.

After he sunk out of the episode that was being filmed he had really just been moping around, as there wasn't much to do otherwise. He had given Thomas valuable information as to how to deal with the situation at hand, and yet he was ignored. He had been replaced that day, and no one cared.

He laid back in his bed and sighed through gritted teeth, running a hand through his hair. The reality was that this kind of situation was going to happen a lot more often in the future, and Logan just had to deal with that- no matter how much it pained him.

And... it did pain him.

During that episode Logan had been whisked away quite suddenly. A cane had wrapped around his neck and he had been pulled off-screen by none other than Deceit, who had then said some painful yet surprisingly truthful things to Logan, about Logan. It was quite eye-opening in all honesty, even if it wasn't a fun experience.

There was a lot to think about. But Logan didn't want to think about it. Of course he didn't, it was a topic that he had been avoiding for a long time now. One that he thought he already knew all the answers he needed to, but he had no want to explore said answers. For once he wished not to seek knowledge on this subject, as learning more about it would only cause him more stress.

What exactly was topic?

...Did Logan actually belong with everyone else?

"Dinner's ready! Virgil, Logan! ...Roman!"

Logan sat up in bed and sighed once more, looking across the room at his mirror. He messed with his hair for a moment until it looked semi-decent, before hoisting himself out of bed and out his bedroom door.

He walked down the stairs, and into the kitchen. Patton stood facing the stove, dumping spaghetti into bowls. Logan sat down at the table and soon enough Virgil entered, sitting down across from him. After both were served their food Patton sat down, next to Virgil. Five minutes passed of silent eating and the empty seat next to Logan was not filled.

"Where might Roman be?" Logan asked, almost surprised at his own question, for he did not care about the whereabouts of that prince in the slightest. The silence was just... eerie. Strange.

"I don't know," Virgil shrugged, before crossing his arms and scoffing. "He probably didn't even hear you call up that dinner was ready, Pat. Wow. He seriously needs to-"

"Now, hold on kiddo- er, Virgil, cut Roman some slack," Patton frowned. "He's very stressed out today and needs some time to himself. He is... definitely a little bit angry right now, but that's okay."

Logan raised an eyebrow. Of course he missed out on possibly seeing Roman have a mental breakdown. But Virgil wasn't there for the entire episode, so he was even more in the dark than Logan.

"...What? He's angry? What happened? Jeez, did I actually miss something by staying in my room all day for once?"

Everyone at the table was silent. Virgil tapped his fingers on the table, waiting for a response. Logan took a sip of the glass of water that had been placed next to him.

"I am not completely sure what happened either, Patton. Care to explain?" Logan asked as he set the glass down. Patton gulped and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Uhm... okay. Uh, well, in the video today Roman-"

"Wait, the video?"

"Y-Yeah. We filmed an episode. But Roman-"

Virgil was definitely starting to become annoyed. "Why didn't you call me in? I should have come in, I definitely noticed today that Thomas was overly anxious. I could have helped."

How's it feel to be ignored?

"I, uh... ehh... you... you probably would have just been angry." Patton was smiling, in a very awkward way.

"Why?"

Logan knew the answer to this one. He was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable.

"I... I feel like I should go-"

"No! No, it's fine, Logan," Patton assured nervously.

"Patton, what happened in today's episode?"

"Uh..."

Silence. Logan sighed.

"Do I need to tell him myself?"

"No, it's fine, no. I can. No. I can do this."

"Just tell me already, then!"

Patton looked at Virgil with a terrified expression, his eyes wide, mouth closed. He took a deep breath and looked away, refusing to make eye contact with anyone at the table.

"...J-Janus?" He whispered, barely audible.

An emotionless expression came over Virgil. He blinked a few times, and Patton just sat there with his eyes shut and shoulders raised as if he thought he was about to be slapped. Logan blinked a few times as well, but in confusion. Did Deceit reveal his name, or did an entirely new side show up? Perhaps this was some sort of secret code between the two?

Regardless, it seemed to piss off Virgil quite a bit, because after a few moments of silence he slowly shoved his plate to the middle of the table and stood.

"Goodnight."

Patton stood up, too. "No, wait, Virgil- hold on, we can talk about this!"

"You trust him, don't you?!" Virgil yelled. "You think he's good. He is evil! Don't you remember how many times I've ranted to you about how much I hate him?! Don't you remember how he literally flirted with Roman just to get his way back in the courtroom?! He is a liar and a manipulator, and most importantly, an idiot."

"Now, Virgil, please. Just- I- it's all gonna be okay, I swear! We just gotta talk it out, and-"

"No, it's not. You can try to snap your fingers and make us all fit into your happy little box of a perfect life, but it'll all be an act. It won't work. It's not perfect, and it never will be."

"But what if we just-"

"No!"

"But- Virgil..."

Both were silent for a moment. Virgil furrowed his eyebrows, nose scrunched, and sighed.

"...It's Anxiety to you, now."

With those last words Virgil turned around and stormed out of the room, leaving the two remaining sides to watch him stomp up the nearby stairs. There was silence in the kitchen for a moment, until Patton groaned and sunk into his chair, resting his forehead on his palms. Logan took another sip of his water and a bite from his food.

"...I am going to assume that Dece- Janus revealed his name while I was gone?"

"Yeah... he did."

"Hmm."

Silence.

"...yeah."

Even more uncomfortable silence. Logan took another bite from his food before sighing and standing up.

"I will go and see if I can... talk to him, at least. We're- erm, we're good friends. I'll also bring him the rest of his food."

"Okay, thanks, Logan. Uh... bye."

"Goodbye, Patton."

Logan grabbed both his plate and Virgil's, nodding once more at Patton before leaving the kitchen and starting towards the stairs.

Well... here we are. A new book!

I was gonna say some of this at the beginning but I thought I should save it until the end of the chapter. PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS, THOUGH! Alright, here goes:

1- Please look over the ENTIRE description. It gives information about not only what the book is about, but shipping, chapter count, and TWs. The TWs aren't very threatening (in my opinion) but I would still recommend you at least glance over them.

2- This book is basically all one giant head-cannon. I got the plot line through careful examination of not only Logan's character and the Sanders Sides series, but also on Logan's Playlist (the official one Thomas released, since all the Side Tracks do have a sort of "storyline"). I also did a lot of research specifically into the word stoicism.
BUT.
There is one thing in this book that I don't agree with, and that is that Logan is the orange side. I do think Logan will end up becoming a dark side in the future but I believe he will stick with his dark blue color. In all honesty, the only reason I did not change the book to go along with that is because I'm lazy and did not want to have to re-draw the cover art.
I just wanted to clarify that just in case, you know... this headcannon ever actually comes true.

Alright, that's it. Only those two things. And if you don't like the ships that are going to be used then DON'T SAY ANYTHING or don't read the book. It is as simple as that.

Anyways, I love you guys! I'm really excited for this book and I hope it will be enjoyed by all of you : )

See ya in the next chapter! 💖

[P.S.- yes, I will be doing the same thing I did in Mine/Yours: using an emoji at the end of each chapter to foreshadow the next one ;)]
