Eight; Oops

I assumed Noah owned a typical red truck, or maybe a blue truck at least. But, he didn't. Instead he owned a black motorcycle with flames tattooed on the sides. It was beautiful I suppose, But I admit that I was a tiny bit worried that I would have to ride on that.

When I was little there was a fatal crash in my neighborhood involving a motorcycle and a semi. Judging by the size of those two vehicles you can guess who made it out alive. My dad is paranoid of motorcycles in general and I suppose his phobia wore off on me and my life.

Noah looked absolutely gorgeous. He leaned against his motorcycle like a hot prince - so eventually we could ride into the sunset and live happily ever after. I wish that would happen to me, but unfortunately I wasn't a character in a Fairy tale book like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty.

"Might want to put this on" Noah said while handing me a helmet. The helmet resembled the the motorcycles decor- with the flames and everything.

"Thanks" I said while taking the helmet from his hands. All the while I was still trying to get over the fact that Noah - A guy I solemnly thought was totally country actually owned a motorcycle.

It just made him more hotter that it instantly felt like the sun somehow got closer to Earth. I wiped my forehead.

Noah climbed on the motorcycle after clipping on a helmet of his own. At first I was a bit confused, was I supposed to climb on after him? I guess that's what would make the most sense, and I defiantly didn't want to look like an idiot, so I climbed on after him.

I was a little reluctant to touch him, not that I didn't want to - it was just that I felt like I needed personal space and he probably wanted it too.

He started the engine. "You might want to hold on" He said quickly after it roared to life. I glanced around at my sides, I didn't see any handle bars to grab or anything to hold.

"I don't see any handlebars" I commented while double-checking my surroundings. I could hear him chuckle over the loud noise, then he reached behind him and grabbed my soft, tiny hands. He wrapped them around his stomach and in one swift motion we were flying down the dirt road faster than any Olympic runner.

The wind flew through my hair faster than before - sending my hair in multiple directions. I desperately tried to calm it down, but it was just learning how to be free for the first time.    My hands felt awkward wrapped around his stomach, I could feel every crease of his abs and the tough tones of his stomach. Pretty soon my nose was capable of smelling Noah's scent of Hay and cologne, the beautiful smell made me easily addicted.

Noah would glance at me every second or two with a faint smile pressed on his lips. That no way stopped how tense my body was sitting on the seat behind him or the way my hands barely hovered over his chest.  That's when I noticed the deep pain in my heart, Noah Horner was so gorgeous that he was breaking my heart simply because I knew I couldn't be with him.  I knew I was no where close to being good enough.

              *•*•*•*•

He showed me around town peacefully like we had the whole day to waste. The town was very small but cute at the same time. Home grown food carts were surrounding the streets with fresh corn and apple butter - All very good food. There was a small library in the corner of town, but Noah said it didn't have many books available - That was very unfortunate considering that books were how I received most of my knowledge.  There was a corner store that had a few good choices for easy dinner, and easy lunches. And then - There was a school.

My attention somehow wandered away from Noah for a minute to admire the beautiful building in front of me.  Millions of kids dreaded school and they often gave it the nickname of Hell, but without school I honestly don't know where I'd be today.

School has impacted so many children in so many ways. I admit it, school doesn't always teach us the necessary aspects we need to know for every-day life, but it teaches us many things that help benefit both you and me. That I'm grateful for.

Finally it was nearing Noon and Noah decided we should stop at a small diner that was a perfect introduction to the marvelous food. I admired his hair as he walked, the sun shined on it as we trailed down the sidewalk. Eventually I was dying to touch his hair more and more, but it would be extremely weird if I reached over and felt it like I dreamed of doing. So, I didn't. Instead I continued to follow him as we walked into the small diner called 'Bobs Burgers'

It didn't look fancy, but it wasn't a boring restaurant either. Striped wallpaper covered the walls and townsfolk were at their tables eating. I smiled at the small community of people that were talking peacefully, creating a reassuring atmosphere.

A Hostess sat us down in a booth by the open window and a small picture frame that held a mildly old painting. It was beautiful anyway. The restaurant in total was perfect in a small-town way, for it almost smelling like home. I sat down across from Noah, his hair was ruffled from our motorcycle ride and his eyes were a bright summer color. I offered a smile and then glanced at my shoes under the table, I let the smile overtake my face.

My hair was a mess to put it lightly. The wind totally tangled it in untidy knots and strands of hair fell down in my face. I brushed it down for a moment or two before glancing at the waiter that was now standing at the side of our table waiting for our orders.

He had dark brown hair that was almost wild like a tiger from the jungle. His eyes were a dark forest green and his face in general seemed strange.  He held his chest up high and took our orders fast.

"What would y'all like to drink? And if you're ready to place your order then I'll take that now" He said with a friendly smile. Noah glanced at me shortly as if to ask if I was ready, I went with my favorite beverage and Hamburger.

"I'll have Water and a Bacon Cheeseburger" I said quietly. My smile rose to my cheeks and I fumbled with my menu to hand him them. I read the small name tag on his shirt; Jeremiah.

"I'll have the same" Noah said kindly. His voice instantly warmed my heart when he spoke which easily sent butterflies to my stomach. Jeremiah left our sides towards the kitchen, which left Noah and I in a deadly silence.

"Tell me more about yourself" Noah said, his eyes were full of wonder. He rested his head in his hands and stared at me intensely, but not to intensely that I grew uncomfortable.

"Well, my favorite animal is a platypus-" I began before Noah interrupted me with a small chuckle.

"A platypus?" He asked with a sharp side of his smile. He looked generally interested for his grin shown from ear-to-ear.

"Yeah. They're a semiaquatic egg-laying mammal that frequents lakes and steams in Eastern Australia. It has a bill shaped like a duck and venomous Spurs." I said will a small grin on mouth. His eyes were filled with amazement and it suddenly made me feel important, like I meant something to someone.

"Why are they you're favorite?" He asked with excitement in his calm voice.

"They're just so unique. There isn't another animal that is remotely close to them - that we know of - They're just different and amazing" I said. Along time ago I decided that I wanted to be different, one of my greatest fears was being the same as everyone else - I wanted to be unique like a platypus. Silence filled our table and I suddenly grew very aware of his eyes staring directly into my soul. "What's your favorite?" I asked. He paused for a moment like he was deeply considering his answer.

"I don't really have a favorite" He said with a small, sexy grin playing on his lips. I looked at his calm face, and instantly my arm hairs started to stand on ends.

"Oh" I said. I let out a small smile.

"You know, Karman -" He started, but before he could speak anything more Jeremiah came back to our table with our glasses of water. A smile was evident on his face but I severely wanted him to go away so Noah could finish what he was saying.

"Here's your water" Jeremiah said while I'm placing a glass in front of Noah, and then reaching over to place one in front of me. But, then the unfortunate occurred. In a matter of two seconds the glass was no longer standing up-right - It was laying down on its side while all the contents spilled out quicker than lava. The water spilled all over my lap and I found my body jerking up right to get away from the pouring water.

                          Crap.

"Oh my god, I'm sooooooo sorry" Jeremiah quickly and frantically said. His face was filled with concern and worry while Noah grabbed a stack of napkins and placed them on the giant puddle. I felt completely embarrassed, my face felt hotter than the sun and while my shorts where drenched in spilled water.

I grabbed some napkins and tried to soak up as much water as I could from my shorts and my bare skin, but that didn't help the wet look that still remained.

Gosh, I was so embarrassed. It looked like I peed myself - To make matters worse, NOAH WAS RIGHT THERE. And now, if my chances weren't slim before, now they definitely were.

"I'm so so sorry. You're just a pretty lady and I got distracted" Jeremiah admitted roughly. Pretty? Did he just call me pretty? And now my cheeks turned redder than a tomato at his comment.

"Um, Thanks" I said with a large blush. I looked at the table in front of me with a small smile creeping up on my lips. I was embarrassed, but kind of happy at the same time.

"You know, you should hit me up sometime" Jeremiah said with a wink. He stepped back from the table for a moment as his eyes traveled down my body with admiration. I scowled.

"Okay, that's enough. If your wanted her number maybe you should've tried giving her respect first" Noah said plainly while offering me more napkins. I was overjoyed with Noah's protectiveness and respect. Jeremiah scowled in his direction and started to help clean up the spilled beverage.

We the left the restaurant soon after - Lets just say, Jeremiah left empty handed that night.

No tip - No number.
