CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: Put On A Show

I wasn't used to such heavy silence on the Victoria Punk.

Standing there, dressed in nothing but a bra and panty set, covered in a fluffy red fur coat, I swallowed, six inch heel tapping the wooden deck. All eyes were on me, and all jaws were slack. I could even see Killer's chin for once.

"If y'all keep staring at me I'm gonna jump overboard and float away." I mumbled, shrinking down a little. Dressing in such a way made me uncomfortable. Sure, I'd worn revealing outfits before to get what I wanted, but not to this extent.

"You, uh, you look real pretty, (Y/N)." Heat piped up, twiddling his fingers together, and I brought the coat around me more to hide my face.
"Thanks...I want to perish."

Killer approached me and placed his hand on my shoulder, his helmet tilting along with his head.
"There's still time to change. You bought alternative clothing for a reason, and honestly I wouldn't blame you. You're...very exposed..."

No, I'm committing to this role.

Shaking my head, I gave his hand a pat and sucked in a deep breath. Closing my eyes, I tried to call upon my inner hooker. I didn't really have one, but I at least knew how one carried themself.

"Aw, are you worried about me, big boy?~" I cooed, reaching to run a finger down the curve of his headgear. "That's so sweet. Kinda makes me wanna ditch my commitments and play around with you instead~"

Killer flinched a little beneath my touch before taking a step back, either flustered or very unsettled by my complete switch in attitude. It was difficult to tell.
"Ayoooo! Killer, she's into youuuu!" Mosh hollered with his hands cupped around his mouth, earning himself some added snickers from the others.

"This isn't a joking matter, boys." The killing machine growled, completely serious. "We're about ready to dock, and this is a new way of doing things for us. Screw your heads on straight or I'll lop them off."

He's still on edge...

Turning my attention from the cowering men, I set my sights on Kid, who had been uncharacteristically quiet since I had emerged. His brow was furrowed, and he was watching me closely. It only seemed to send my self consciousness sky-rocketing, but I had to commit to my character. If I slipped back now, I'd have a hard time preparing myself before we landed.

"What do you think, Captain? How much would you spend for a night with a diamond like me?~" I asked in a purr, sauntering up to stand before him. Kid raked his eyes up and down my form slowly, his tongue snaking out to lick his teeth in a way that caused my skin to prickle.
"If I didn't know how annoying you were personally..? I wouldn't be all too stingy..."

Be a good girl, (Y/N). He's a bad idea. Think of Paulie and the never-ending conniptions he'd have if you brought someone like Kid home...He'd spend the rest of his days in the loony bin...

Pinned down by his gaze, which had suddenly turned hungry, I forced a coy smirk to my own painted lips, mimicking him as I licked my teeth.
"We've always got time before my next appointment~"

"No, you don't. Focus, both of you." Killer forced his way between us, essentially snapping us out of our little, unintentional flirt fest. "You have your weapons, right? They're well hidden?"

I slipped my hands into the inside of the coat and nodded, feeling the deep, hidden pockets and confirming my pistols were there, safe and sound. It helped that I had clipped the coat to the straps of the bra, so it would just drape over my body. I had easy access if I needed to use them to protect myself.

"Fully loaded, handsome." I replied with a wink, stifling a laugh when the man palmed the front of his helmet.
"God, I can't wait for this to be over..." He mumbled bitterly, and I silently commended him for his god-like patience. "So, you remember, right? If there's any-"

"If there's any problem and the plan fails, run out of there half naked, guns a-blazin'." I droned, placing a hand on my hip as I waited for confirmation.
"Not exactly how I explained it, but yes, I guess that's accurate enough."

Setting a hand on his friend's shoulder, Kid gave it a reassuring squeeze.
"Stop being so anal about this. When have we ever fucked anything up?" He asked confidently, and Killer just stood there. His stillness was telling.
"Sabaody, for a start."

Oh yeah, I heard about that. The Worst Generation made quite the uproar.

Rolling his eyes, Kid nudged him out of the way and took my jaw in his hand, squishing my face so my brightly painted lips puckered.
"If you do a good job, I'll let you stay on the ship permanently. I'd like to hear a sweet little yes, sir, if you understand me, Bitch."

There was absolutely no reason for that to have any sort of positive affect on me, but there I was, ready to roll over and wag my tail, if I had one.
"Yeth, Thir." I tried to say it properly, but his grip on my face wouldn't allow me to do so.

His smirk stretched into a full on, dastardly grin, and instead of releasing me fully, he allowed his fingers to trail down my jaw and hook beneath my chin, tilting my face up even more.
"You still trust me?"

I trust that you're going to be the death of me.

"I trust you..." I tried to keep my voice level, but just hearing those words come out of my mouth seemed to give Kid one hell of a power trip, and I could almost feel him vibrate with sadistic excitement. Despite that, I really did trust him. He was cruel, and vicious, but after the things he had done in the past couple of weeks, I believed I could put my faith in him.

"It's showtime, people!" Boogie called from the crow's nest, and I turned to see the island fast approaching. Everyone began to scurry off to finalise the preparations, but Kid stayed right where he was, his expression suddenly serious.

"You actually trust me?" He sounded perplexed by what he had just coaxed out of me, but I stood firm, nodding in confirmation.
"You're big, you're mean, you nearly killed me, but yeah, Kiddo. I trust you."

Shit. I fell out of character.

"Uh, I mean..." Clearing my throat, I reached out to run a hand down his chest, batting my lashes. "How could I not trust a handsome stud like you?~" Snorting, Kid took hold of my hand and pulled it away from his chest, but didn't let go immediately. There was a look on his face I couldn't quite read.
"To properly answer that stupid question of yours from before...there'd be no cap on what I'd spend on a woman like you."

O..oh...

Snatching my hand away, I spun on my high heel and slapped my cheeks, trying to knock some sense back into my flustering brain.
"Well, of course there wouldn't be. I'm as good as they come." I huffed, strutting away so I could have a moment to breathe before I really had to buckle down and do my job.

When we docked in a well covered cove, Killer went over everything again, for the fifth time, and I reassured him that everything was under control. I knew he was just trying to look out for me, and I made a mental note to return his kindness once we were finished.

"Break a leg, (Y/N). But not literally. That would be bad..." Heat fumbled a little, and I offered him a smile. Kid, however, just gave me a single nod, but it spoke a thousand words. He was trusting me to do a good job, and I was trusting him to do his.

Taking a deep breath, I turned my entire focus over to trying not to fall flat on my face in the sand. Heels were definitely not meant to be worn on the beach, but luckily once I reached the tree-line the ground became hard and much kinder to me.

You can do this. Five minutes. Take all their attention, and boom, filthy rich. Make Kid proud. Wait, no, this isn't about that. This is about the money. Just money...

The absolute second I stepped out from the trees, I heard the cocking of guns. Looking up, I had to really clench my ass to not jump and screech seeing a squadron of heavily armed men surrounding me, barrels of guns pointed towards my face.
"Who the hell are you?! State your business!"

Time for the ol' razzle dazzle.

Letting my fur coat fall open, just a little, I reached to twirl at my hair, aiming my sights for the man who had addressed me. Just as expected, his eyes fell to my chest.

"A little birdy told me you boys were in need of some company. This is Pinbour Haven, right..?"

***Eustass wouldn't have to pay a cent. No cap.

Neither would Killer.

I'd pay Killer.
