The Meeting (Part 1)

Taylor's POV

It was Saturday.

The day of the accursed meeting.

The day where I would most likely see Grayson, Jason and Alpha Aaron. I hadn't seen them since our last unpleasant encounter.

But, today was also the day where I had to...eat eggs for breakfast.

That, by far, was the worst thing I've had to do.

At exactly seven a.m. sharp, I called upstairs, "MICHAEL! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE! WE'RE GONNA BE LATE, DIMWIT!"

"The damned thing starts at ten, Taylor! Chill the fuck out!" Was his muffled response.

"SO?" I cried. "We gotta be there early! And it's almost an hour run from here!"

"FINE. I'll be down in fifteen!"

I huffed, crossing my arms, "YOU'RE SUCH A PRISS, MICHAEL!"

"AND YOU'RE SUCH A PEDOPHILE, BUT I AIN'T JUDGIN'," he shot back.

"Oh, just hurry up!" I shouted back in defeat.

The whole time we were having our morning shouting match, Margaret was sitting at the table drinking coffee and smiling.

"You guys are so adorable," she gushed.

"So you say," I then muttered, "every freaking day."

"I heard that, Taylor! Just because I'm no longer a teenager does not mean I've lost my werewolf senses!"

I gave her a bright smile, hoping this would make up for it.

She rolled her chocolate-colored eyes, but she was grinning, "Oh, Taylor. You're forgiven. How can I be mad at you when you smile like that?"

"Smile like what?" I asked, curiously. I pulled a chair out and sat down, resting my head on the palms of my hand, my elbows propping me up.

"Like, like, well," she stumbled. "When you smile, it's like the goddess Luna herself was smiling. Your smile just brightens the whole room. It's so cute, I could just snuggle you to death."

I scoffed at her description, "Yeah, right."

"I'm serious, Taylor!" She protested.

Michael bounded down the stairs right then and he saw us and asked, "What's going on?"

Snorting, I said, disbelievingly, "Mom here thinks I'm a goddess."

Michael nodded a few times, "Seems about right."

"What?" I sputtered. Shooting out of my seat, I stared at the both of them, gaping. "You guys can't be serious, right? I mean, I'm just me. There's nothing special about me!"

"You're an Alpha's only child."

"You're over six feet tall."

"You speak over five different languages. Fluently."

"You know over ten different types of martial arts."

"You know how to use over ten different types of martial arts."

"You're the best fighter in the Silver Moons pack."

"Okay!" I cut in, blushing. "I get it, I'm special. "But I'm not goddess special." Michael opened his mouth but shut it when I shot him a withering glare. "Let's just go before I die of embarrassment."

Before Michael and I made it to the door, Margaret called out, "And you're modest, too!"

"STOP TALKING!"

~

When we were within an inch of the border, we shifted and crossed over. Almost immediately, two guards appeared in front of us. Two familiar guards.

"Brown Head! Auburn Head!" I joyously cried.

Their eyes widened and Brown Head spat, "You?"

I chuckled and held my arms out, "I missed you too!"

They didn't accept my offer of a hug so I put my arms down, still smiling. Turning to Michael, who had a bewildered look on his face, I chirped, pointing vigorously to the two guards. "These are the two guards I was telling you about, Mikey!"

He slowly nodded, recognition dawning on his features. "Oh, right. The ones you were gonna kill but didn't?"

"Ssh! They don't know about that!" I hissed.

Auburn Head finally spoke up, "It's all right. I must admit, we were a bit rude during our last encounter."

Smiling softly at him, I said, "All is forgiven. I understand."

They both smiled back and this seemed to go on for a while. Michael was the one who interrupted the silence. Clearing his throat, he asked, "So, uh, are you guys gonna lead us to Alpha Aaron's place or just keep staring at Taylor?"

The two men turned red and Auburn Head murmured, "Our apologies, she's just so - "

"Pretty, I know," Michael waved his hand as if this was a regular subject while I turned pink. "It's okay, she gets that a lot."

"This way," Brown Hair pointed. We followed them until we arrived at the Collins residence. The vast structure never ceased to amaze me.

The men bowed their head before leaving us at the doorsteps. I turned to Michael who was plainly in awe of the place.

"You press the button."

He stopped staring and stared at me, "You press the button!"

"No! You press it!" I cried.

"No way! You're the one who's been here before!"

"Exactly why you should press it! I've already had the experience, it's your turn!"

"No, this is exactly why you should press it; you're more familiar with the place!"

I opened my mouth to counter his argument, but the doors opened then, revealing a grinning Jason. "I knew I heard your lovely voice, Taylor."

At that comment, Michael became Overprotective, Big Brother and narrowed his eyes, stepping slightly in front of me. "Who the hell are you?"

Jason waggled his brows around him to me and I chuckled. "Why, you don't know me? I'm Taylor's fiancee: Grayson."

At the mention of Grayson, my wolf stirred, Where is he?

Why should we care? I scoffed. She didn't answer after that.

Using the mind link I told Michael, No, he's not Grayson. He's Jason, the one I told you about. You know, the guy I said that reminded me of you?

Well, I'm not really liking him right now, Michael scowled.

Don't worry, Michael, he's harmless. Jason's just messing with you. I comforted him.

He caved in. Alright. I'm punching him if he tries anything pervy though.

Deal, I said.

Stepping around Michael, I ruffled the red head's hair, smiling, "Jason! It's great to see you here!"

He gently slapped my hand away, scorning, "Not the hair, Taylor! Not the hair!" Jason combed it back into place with his fingers and I gave Michael an I-told-ya-so look. If Margaret thought Michael and I could be twins, then she'd think Michael and Jason were one person.

"No, seriously, what're you doing here?" I inquired.

"I'm Grayson's Beta, duh," he smirked.

"Well, Michael," Pointing to Michael. "is my Beta. I think you guys will get along."

They regarded each other cautiously before doing the guy shake. I stared, entranced as they both grinned and now looked like they've known each other for years instead of minutes. They started talking about Ninjago or something and I pitched in a few times. When another person finally came, we were in the living room on the floor, watching 'Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu'.

"What are you three doing? Jason?" A baffled Alpha Aaron asks.

"We're watching T.V.," Jason answered, standing at attention, a sober expression on his face. Michael and I gazed at him and then we looked at each other before we burst out in laughter.

"What was that?" I guffawed.

"You were just talking about how you were Team Jay and then you got all serious!" Michael piped in.

"He was showing respect," Alpha Aaron broke in. "for his Alpha."

When Michael heard the word 'Alpha' he hastily got up and saluted him, "F-forgive me, sir, I-I had no knowledge that you were Alpha Aaron."

I stood up and glared at the traitors for leaving me all by myself. They both gave me a sheepish smile.

Ignoring them, I focused my attention on Alpha Aaron - who didn't look happy, but he didn't look mad either. "Good morning, Alpha Aaron."

He raised an eyebrow, "Aren't you going to apologize?"

"Nope," I said, popping the 'p'. Jason and Michael's eyes went wide and they made 'stop' motions, panicking. "I don't have anything to be sorry for," I smiled, enjoying their reactions.

Alpha Aaron' features softened and he replied, "Now you are a true Alpha. I think I'm gonna like you." He held his hand out and I grinned as I fist bumped him.

Jason's jaw dropped, "What? She's not in trouble? You once grounded for two months just because I didn't say good morning to you!"

I stuck my tongue out at him, smirking, "Haha, it's 'cause I'm awesomer than you."

Michael, though, didn't seem to be fazed by any of this. When Jason turned to him for an explanation, he shrugged.

Alpha Aaron laughed, "When Taylor smiled, I just couldn't be mad at her."

I immediately frowned.

MJ (I've decided now that whenever Michael and Jason do something at the same time, I'll be calling them MJ, am I a genius or what?) snickered and tousled my hair, messing my ponytail up.

I slapped their hands away and said, "Can the stupid meeting begin now?"

"Actually," Alpha Aaron answered. "that's why I came down here. The meeting began about ten minutes ago. You, little troublemakers, were watching that ninja - "

"Ninjago," we said simultaneously.

He frowned, but continued, "Yes. Ninjago. What I'm trying to say is that we would have gone on without you, but your arguing was just so loud that I had to stop the meeting and check out what was going on."

I flushed when he said that we had disturbed them, as did MJ.

"Now I'm sorry," I apologized. "I didn't know the meeting had started already, I would've been there if I had."

"Ditto," Michael said.

"Tritto," Jason added. We turned to him, puzzled. He held his hands up in mock surrender explaining, "I don't know what comes after 'ditto',"

Alpha Aaron shook his head, "I honestly don't know what to do with you sometimes, Jason. Let's just go."

We trudged up the stairs in silence and when we reached the second door, Alpha Aaron opened it. When he did, dozens of pairs of eyes turned to ours.

I blushed even more, hating to cause so much trouble. But I stepped up and apologized in a what I hope was a steady voice.

"On behalf of Michael, Jason and I," I gestured towards them before proceeding. "We're very sorry for disturbing this meeting. We were a bit...distracted. I'm also sorry for being an inconvenience to you all." As soon as I finished, I stepped back and hid my face.

Why did you apologize? My wolf asked.

It's the right thing to do, I shrugged. Besides, I feel bad that I caused some problems.

So? You're an Alpha - if anything, they should be apologizing to you.

No, I growled. Just because I'm an Alpha does not mean I get to do whatever I please. To prove my point, I conjured a few memories of my dad leaving me for Alpha business.

She submitted, Fine. They could have called notified you a few minutes beforehand at least.

It's okay, I insisted.

Alpha Aaron led us further into the room and we took the three empty seats at the end of the table.

Before the meeting could restart, a voice across from me laughed, "You chose a girl as your Beta?"

I looked up and saw a man around his early to early twenties staring at Michael expectantly. Michael growled and slammed his fist on the desk, "This girl is not my Beta. She's my Alpha."

I watched his sky blue eyes shift into a darker shade and I placed my hand on his shoulder to try and calm him down.

It's alright, Mikey. I told him through the mind link.

No, it's not! He raged.

Come on, Michael, do you honestly think I care what that old guy thinks of me?

Michael thought about it for a few moments before grudgingly saying, Fine. But if he says one more offensive thing directed towards you; I'm killing him.

Deal.

"Excuse me," the man said, "but your Alpha is a female? That can't be possible. Don't you have a brother or a father, girl?"

Kill him, my wolf hissed.

Not yet.

"Yes, I do have a father, but I'm an only child," I stiffly replied, staring him straight in his eyes.

"Well, then where is your father?" He asked in a 'duh' tone.

"Do not speak to me as if I am a child," I snarled, clenching my fists.

Kill him now, my wolf said.

Not yet!

I forced myself to calm down before I spoke again, my voice low, "Why do you ask? Do you think that because I am a female that I am weak?"

"Why, yes, yes I do," the man smirked.

"Do you think because I'm young, I'm inexperienced?"

"Yes."

"Do you think I'm of no use to this meeting?"

"Another yes."

"Well, then that's great!" I enthused. As the man turned an unflattering shade of red, I smirked as I saw a vein from his shiny, bald head.

"WHAT?" He roared. "I just insulted you! Aren't you going to do anything about it?!"

"I did," I answered coolly. "I said, 'That's great!', remember?"

"What kind of moronic Alpha are you? Don't you care if another Alpha clearly challenges your position?" He continued to rage. At this point, the man was standing up and glaring furiously at me. He wasn't very large, but he wasn't small either.

"Honestly? No, I don't care. You can take all your opinions and shove them up your a - "

"ENOUGH!" A rich and powerful voice boomed.

When my wolf heard his voice, she purred and I scolded her pup-ish behavior.

Stop acting like some lovesick pup, I reproached her.

Grayson was at the front of the table, glaring at the man who've I decided to call 'Mr. Bald Head', "YOU! Female or not Taylor is still an Alpha and deserves respect, Dalton!"

Oh. I guess 'Mr. Bald Head' was out.

Dalton growled at Grayson (who looked pretty hot wearing a V-neck white T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans, may I just add - Aah! No! Shut up, Pervy Taylor!) and received a growl in return. "Why should I? If she's anything like her father, she's bound to be just trouble!"

I shot out of my seat at the mention of my father and snarled at him, my wolf almost taking over. No one, and I mean no one, insults my father in front of me. "You wanna take it outside, Baldy?"

"Let's!" He snapped back.

I abruptly turned and made my way downstairs and outside, not caring what the other Alpha's thought of me right now. All I could think about was how rude Dalton was and how much I wanted to rip his throat apart.
