Chapter 30

Yoongi held his hand out, and Namjoon smiled, grabbing it and holding it tightly as Yoongi backed down the driveway, spinning the wheel with his free hand.

"You still sure about this, baby?" Yoongi murmured as he drove.

Namjoon shrugged one shoulder, tracing the lines on Yoongi's palm with his fingertip. "Taehyung has to be stopped. That's priority one."

"Why is he so obsessed with being number one anyways?" Yoongi muttered to himself. "To hurt people and blackmail them? No normal person would go that far."

Namjoon snorted, not caring about his enemy. "He's not normal, that's why. Thank God Jimin's adopted."

-

They arrived at the Kim/Park house, and Yoongi parked.

Namjoon reluctantly let go of the dom's hand, his own already feeling cold without it's warmth.

"Come on baby," Yoongi whispered as he unbuckled and opened his door, stepping onto the driveway. He looked up at the house as he shut his door, taking a deep breath.

Namjoon followed his lead, glaring softly at the thought of having to see Taehyung.

"Yoongichi!" Seokjin flung the door open. "What are you doing here?"

The pretty switch's smile froze when he saw Namjoon, wondering what Jimin's friend was doing with Yoongi.

"Hey Jinnie." Yoongi smiled as he walked up, Namjoon behind him. "Jimin invited Namjoon over and I decided to see you as well. We carpooled because we care about the environment."

Seokjin led them inside. "Well you chose a great time! I was baking all day and everything just came out of the oven a few minutes ago!"

Namjoon kicked off his shoes, hovering close to Yoongi as he followed them to the kitchen. He looked over his shoulder, as if Taehyung was going to attack him.

Seokjin started cutting up the fresh bread. "If you're looking for Jimin, he should be back soon. He just ran to the store quick to grab a few things for me."

"Where's Taehyung?" Yoongi asked casually, leaning against the counter.

"Studying in his room for midterms." Seokjin said, transferring the bread slices to some plates.

As if hearing his name and being summoned, Taehyung came around the corner. He smirked at Yoongi and Namjoon, behind Seokjin's back.

"Wow, to what do I owe this surprise visit?" He asked sweetly, his glittering eyes dark.

Yoongi was quick to place his hand on Namjoon's arm, warning him not to say or do anything like the student had been planning to do.

"Here you go!" Seokjin handed them both a plate of bread. "Tell me if you like it! It's a new recipe."

Namjoon looked warily at his, wondering how he could slip this into the garbage without Seokjin seeing, but then Yoongi stepped up close to him.

"It's not drugged baby, Seokjin didn't even know we were coming over, remember? He made this on his own, for his family. You can eat it." He whispered lowly.

Namjoon realized Yoongi was right, and, after watching Seokjin and Yoongi both eat theirs without suddenly falling over, he took a tiny bite.

It was good, sweet and fresh, and he nibbled on it.

Yoongi handed him a cup of water and Namjoon looked at him expectantly.

Yoongi took a sip of it and raised his eyebrows, holding it out to the boy.

Namjoon took it and took a small sip as well, thankful for Yoongi's patience.

"Aish, that kid." Seokjin said after a few minutes passed and Jimin still hadn't returned. "Probably signing autographs in the middle of the dairy aisle. I'll call him."

He excused himself, phone held to his ear, and the two were left alone in the kitchen with Taehyung.

"What are you waiting for?" Taehyung asked Yoongi, ignoring Namjoon. "I got some tests to study for, so stop dragging this out."

"Why do you even bother studying?" Namjoon muttered. "You can't beat me."

Yoongi's lips lifted slightly in a smirk, holding back a short laugh. He loved his sassy baby.

Taehyung scowled, arms crossed. "You shut up, just wait and take what's coming to you."

Namjoon blinked in sarcastic innocence. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"He's on his way back." Seokjin called, walking back inside the room, unaware of the tense atmosphere.

Yoongi decided there was no point in delaying anything, so he walked up to Seokjin, placing his hands on the boys shoulders.

Seokjin blinked. "Yoongi-"

"I miss you, Jinnie. Can we kiss?" Yoongi pouted, already leaning in.

Seokjin would never say no, and the two boys kissed, Taehyung and Namjoon watching them.

-

Taehyung grinned, looking over at his enemy to gauge his reaction.

But to his extreme shock, Namjoon was looking at the two with a bored, tired expression. He raised his hand and yawned into it.

Wait a minute, what the hell?

What about the bet?

Why isn't he shocked, hurt and outraged?

Is he even jealous at all?

The number one student didn't look like it as he passed the kissing boys without sparing them a glance. He picked up a cupcake from the table and sniffed it.

Yoongi finally pulled back, beaming cutely at the older boy. "Thanks, Jinnie. I really missed that."

"Me too." Seokjin said, somewhat dazedly.

Namjoon walked over to Yoongi, and Taehyung thought this was finally it; Namjoon was going to shove that cupcake into Yoongi's face and scream at him for kissing someone else.

But the student just held it up to Yoongi, and the dom whispered something to him.

Namjoon looked determined, and held up the cupcake again.

Yoongi unwrapped it and took a bite, before handing it back.

With a smile, Namjoon bit into it too, eating it like he didn't have a care in the world.

Taehyung frowned, confused.

What the hell-

Did Yoongi tell Namjoon about this before hand?

It suddenly struck him what must of happened behind the scenes and he seethed, his fingernails digging into his crossed arms.

Did those cheating bastards really think they could get away with this?

He snorted to himself, lips curling into a devilish grin.

Oh no. They only made things ten times worse.

-

Pacing in his room, Taehyung angrily threw his desk chair over, toppling it to the ground.

They had fucking humiliated him! Yoongi was a fucking cheating snake and Namjoon was an arrogant, stuck up jerk! They both deserved to get hurt, and considering their bond, Taehyung wanted one of them to hurt the other.

But how?

He listened to the sounds of Yoongi and Seokjin talking in Jin's room, and Namjoon and Jimin playing video games in Jimin's room.

How could he beat them?

He bit his nail as he thought deeply, replaying the scene in the kitchen.

Namjoon walking past the two kissing boys like he didn't even see them...the cupcake...

Midterms tomorrow...the bread...the water...

Their close bond...Yoongi being the lead in their relationship...

"Ah!" Taehyung suddenly gasped in realization.

For whatever reason, Namjoon always had Yoongi try the food first before he ate it himself. Namjoon trusted Yoongi. If Yoongi said the food was fine, Namjoon would eat it, no questions asked.

Taehyung laughed to himself as he ran to his bathroom. He opened the medicine cabinet and pulled down the bottle of sleeping pills he was prescribed by Dr. Lee.

It said to only take one, two for extreme insomnia.

Taehyung dumped out a bunch of them, shuffling the small white pills in his palm.

Surely this would be enough to make Namjoon miss the midterms tomorrow.

The only way Taehyung could beat him was if Namjoon wasn't there, after all.

He opened his door and peeked up and down the hall, making sure it was clear before hurrying to the kitchen.

He grabbed a few cupcakes and scooped the icing off and into a plastic container. Then he crushed up the pills between two spoons, using one of them to stir the tasteless pill powder into the frosting.

He used his brothers piping tube to recreate the swirled peaks on top of the cupcakes, and put it into a small basket his mom stored for Easter. He filled it with some bread slices as well, and put in a note.

For my Yoongichi, from Jinnie

Taehyung smiled as he stepped back into his room, opening his books to study.

Let's see them beat me this time.

-

"Thanks for coming over." Jimin beamed, following Namjoon out of his room. "I had fun!"

"Me too." Namjoon agreed.

And he did. It was relaxing to forget everything and just play some mindless video games with a good friend for a while.

Yoongi looked up and smiled as Namjoon walked over. "Ready to go home?"

Namjoon nodded, wanting to study a little more for the tests coming up.

"Where's Seokjin?" Namjoon asked, looking around.

"Showering. He invited me but I had to decline." Yoongi chuckled.

Namjoon made a face, walking to the door to slip on his shoes. "Bye Jimin!"

"Bye Joonie!" Jimin waved, before heading back to his room.

Yoongi pulled out his car keys, and noticed the gift basket on the counter. He saw the note with his name on it and picked up the basket.

He cooed at how sweet his best friend was.

"Thanks for the gift, Jinnie!" Yoongi yelled.

"Huh?" Seokjin shouted over the sound of running water.

"Let's go." Namjoon wanted to get out of here.

Yoongi followed him out and they climbed into the car.

Before Namjoon shut his door, he heard the sound of a window opening and Taehyung stuck his head out.

"Hey, Namjoon!" He called.

Namjoon glared up at him. "What do you want now, secundum locum?"

"Don't oversleep." Taehyung winked, and shut his window.

Namjoon didn't know what the hell that meant, and he didn't care.

He shut his door and Yoongi finally pulled out of there, driving them home.

"What's this?" Namjoon asked, poking the gift basket.

"Seokjin made it." Yoongi explained. "You should take it home, baby. You'll need the sugar if you're going to be up all night studying."

Namjoon grabbed the basket and put it in his lap. "I don't even need to study. I already know all the answers."

Yoongi smiled proudly. "I bet you do, sweetheart."

They held hands the whole way home.
