Chapter 27
"Come on, Kook." Hoseok said as he parked in Yoongi's driveway.
Jungkook looked nervously at the house as he climbed out of Hoseok's car. "We shouldn't be skipping class, Hobi."
"It's important, it's for Namjoon." Hoseok insisted, hurrying up the steps to the doms house. He knocked on the door loudly.
Jungkook followed behind him, still nervous to step inside the doms house, as if Yoongi would immediately grab him and start domming him.
The door opened and Yoongi looked surprised to see them.
"Hello boys, shouldn't you be in school?" He asked.
"We're skipping!" Jungkook said meekly, hiding behind Hoseok.
"Just first class." Hoseok shrugged. "I know you said to come over this weekend but I wanted to do it now. It's about what happened with Namjoon."
Hearing Hoseok call Namjoon by his real name and not some crazy nickname showed Yoongi the boy was being serious, something he suspected didn't happen often.
He stepped aside to let them in.
"If I had known you were coming over I would have made some tea." He said, showing them to the living room.
"It's fine, we won't be long." Hoseok sat on the couch, facing the dom.
Yoongi was a little on edge, since he couldn't talk about the bet and he knew the boys would be prying.
"So...I guess I just want to know what's going on between you two." Hoseok said. "In the bathroom, I've never seen him like that before. Never...and then he wanted you, instead of his parents or us. And I thought he hated you, so I guess I just want you to fill in the gaps for me."
Yoongi let out a breath. "Well, you know he's modeling for me, so I guess we just got close that way, and from what I've heard about his parents...they're not really parents."
"Yeah, they're more like his PR team." Hoseok agreed. "But about that modeling thing...I know Nyummie is gorgeous, but it doesn't make sense for him to wear girls clothing. Like, why not just get a female model? Especially since he doesn't like you...I don't know, Mr. Min, things just don't make sense." Hoseok sighed.
Jungkook piped up. "We just want to make sure Namjoon is okay! He didn't even open my birthday card!"
"Birthday?" Yoongi frowned.
"His birthday was on the 12th." Jungkook nodded. "I got him a card because he doesn't like presents."
"Shit, I forgot!" Hoseok gasped. "Nyambaby!"
Yoongi hadn't known the students birthday was three days ago. The boy had never said anything about it.
"Does he not like celebrating his birthday?" Yoongi asked.
Hoseok shrugged. "His parents always make a big deal out of it, and he hates the attention, so he tries to slip by unnoticed every year. I guess he's glad I forgot. Phew, saved!"
Yoongi had a feeling he knew why Namjoon didn't like being the center of attention.
"Thank you both for coming in. Namjoon is lucky to have good friends like you two." Yoongi smiled. "I'm glad he has people at school to help him with Taehyung."
"Yeah, well, you met him, so you know how...hard to get along with he can be. We're his friends, because if we don't, no one else will be." Hoseok chuckled.
"Do you know what Taehyung was meaning by all that he said to Namjoon?" Jungkook asked. "He was like, say hi to Yoongi for me! And said you were, um, well...u-uh...fricking Namjoon."
Fuck.
Yoongi sighed, rubbing his forehead in frustration at Seokjin's little brother. "I...it's complicated."
"Is he actually getting dom sessions from you?" Hoseok asked openly.
"No." Yoongi lied. "He's just helping me model."
"Then why did Taehyung say that?" Jungkook frowned.
"That lying bastard is going to spread lies about Namsweetheart just to try and get to first place!" Hoseok gasped, eyes wide. "That fucking little shit!"
"Don't do anything to Taehyung, I don't want you to get expelled." Yoongi warned them.
"But what are we going to do then?" Jungkook worried. "If Namjoons parents hear about something like that, whether it's real or fake, they'll freak out and ground him for life or something!"
"I'll handle Taehyung, he's my best friends little brother." Yoongi said. "I'm sure I can talk some sense into him."
"Well if you can't, there's always plan B." Hoseok punched his fist into his open palm.
"I appreciate you both supporting Namjoon, and we can continue this conversation another time if you'd like." Yoongi said, checking his watch. "But I have some errands to run now and you should get back to class before you get onto trouble."
"What a nice way to kick someone out." Hoseok complimented.
The two students got up and Yoongi followed them to the door, waving as they drove away.
He sighed, leaning against the closed door after he was alone.
He thought that the hardest part of this bet was going to be Namjoon's stubbornness. He never expected three little students would actually be the real problem.
-
When Namjoon arrived at Yoongi's house, he was surprised to see the dom open the door for him, and a smile broke out on the dimpled boys face as he walked inside.
"Hey baby," the dom greeted him, pressing a soft kiss to the boys cheek. "Did you have a good day?"
Namjoons skin tingled from Yoongi's kiss.
"It was okay." He shrugged. "What about yours?"
Yoongi hummed, not leading the student deeper into the house like he usually would, and Namjoon wondered what was up.
"Let's go, baby." Yoongi grabbed his car keys and Namjoon frowned.
"Where?"
"You'll see."
-
Yoongi parked and Namjoon peeked out the window, wondering why they were at a lake.
Yoongi climbed out and walked to the back of the car, opening it and pulling out a small picnic basket with a rolled up blanket resting on it.
Namjoon followed the little dom, still not sure why he was doing this.
But it was nice out. It was late enough in the evening that there wasn't a ton of people out, but still early enough that it was warm.
Yoongi found a perfect spot and laid the soft red blanket down on some dry grass, facing the sparkling lake.
Namjoon sat down on it, kicking off his shoes and feeling the soft fleece rub against his legs.
Yoongi pulled out some snacks and drinks from the basket, handing a thermos to the boy.
Namjoon opened it, and let out a happy sound when he inhaled the familiar scent of the tea Yoongi always made him.
He took a few sips, feeling warm inside and out now.
Yoongi handed him a plate of fruit, a sandwich and some crackers. "Here baby, eat. It's okay, dom made it for you."
Namjoon obliged, stuffing the sandwich into his mouth.
His cheeks puffed out with the fluffy bread and Yoongi smiled, resting his cheek in his hand as he gazed at the cute boy, his eyes sparkling with fondness.
Namjoom swallowed and looked over at the lake, the setting sun turning it golden. "Are we not having a session today?"
"No, there's something more important we're doing today." Yoongi said, reaching into the basket to pull out one more thing.
"What's that?" Namjoon looked back and froze at the small cake Yoongi was holding out.
Happy ♡ Birthday
Namjoon stared, wondering how Yoongi found out his birthdate.
"You're nineteen now. Almost an adult, but still a baby." Yoongi said. "It's important to celebrate achievements."
"Wha...how..." Namjoon stared.
"Your friends let it slip. You shouldn't shy away from your birthday, baby. It's an important day. The day the universe decided it needed you. It should be celebrated and you should be appreciated."
Namjoon didn't know what to say. No one had ever said it like that to him before. His parents just used it as an excuse to go all out, trying to promote him to modeling agencies and acting companies, despite the student not wanting to do either.
Yoongi cut him a piece and Namjoon saw the cake was chocolate, his favorite.
He took the plate, still shocked.
"I know you haven't had good experiences with birthdays in the past," Yoongi said. "So I want to show you how great they can be."
Once Namjoon lost this bet, Yoongi would make him feel loved and beautiful every single day, but especially on his birthday. He would show the cute baby how birthdays were supposed to be.
Namjoon sniffed the cake, and the sweet smell of chocolate and icing graced his little button nose.
"Yoongi..."
"Dom got you a gift too." Yoongi got up and Namjoon panicked slightly, hand shooting out to grab the mans pants.
"I'll be right back, baby." Yoongi leaned down and pressed a kiss to Namjoon's hair.
Namjoon let him go, toes curling as a pleased blush spread over his cheeks, stuffing a bite of the cake into his mouth.
It was delicious, and he quickly stole another piece as he waited for Yoongi to come back.
He didn't have to wait long, Yoongi didn't want to keep his baby waiting.
Namjoon lowered the thermos and was surprised to see Yoongi carrying an acoustic guitar.
Yoongi settled himself on the blanket. "It's not an electric guitar like you said you liked, but I wrote you a little something."
Namjoon was shocked. "You...wrote me a song?"
No one had ever wrote him a song before.
Yoongi hummed, fingers stroking the strings and Namjoon listened to the soft, sweet sounds coming from the instrument.
It was beautiful, even without any lyrics. Yoongi's deep hums accompanied the high notes, taking Namjoon's mind to the sky, his imagination splashing together images and feelings that the song evoked.
Namjoon wanted to be closer to the beautiful dom, but with the guitar in his lap, and his arms moving, that cut out Namjoon's usual places to lean against.
So he turned around, facing the golden, sparkling lake as he settled against Yoongi, their backs pressed together.
He closed his eyes, feeling totally at peace with the warm sun on his face, the taste of chocolate in his mouth, Yoongi supporting him, and the melodic sounds of the guitar dancing in his ears.
He wished this moment would last forever.
No overbearing parents, no guilty feelings about Jimin, no school, no Taehyung, just him and Yoongi in this warm, golden bubble forever.
But eventually the song ended, and Yoongi set the guitar aside.
Namjoon leaned back, resting his head on the doms shoulder.
"Thank you. That was beautiful, I loved it."
"You're the most welcome, sweetheart." Yoongi smiled, happy that Namjoon was happy.
"Play it again?" Namjoon pleaded.
Yoongi chuckled, turning around so he could pull the boy into his lap. "You'll hear it again, baby."
Namjoon sighed, settling into Yoongi's arms as he gazed at the lake.
A breeze rustled the trees overheard and some ducks swam past, occasionally quacking.
Yoongi tipped his head back, enjoying the setting suns last rays on his face, rocking softly from side to side as he held Namjoon close and tight.
I promise, baby. If I win, I'll make you this comfortable and happy every day.
He looked down and realized with a silent laugh that Namjoon had fallen asleep in his arms.
He pressed a few long kisses to the boys hair, resting his cheek on the sleeping boys head as his own eyes closed.
They couldn't stay here forever, but they could still stay for a little longer.
-
"Wake up, sweetheart."
Namjoon yawned, rubbing his eyes in confusion as he slowly sat up.
It was cooler out now, and darker.
Everything had been packed back up in the basket, except for the guitar and blanket they were still sitting on.
Namjoon reluctantly slid off the doms lap, sighing as his legs touched the sun soaked blanket.
"It's almost six, we gotta get back." Yoongi explained softly, sitting up and stretching.
Namjoon didn't want to leave, but then Yoongi was offering his hand out, and Namjoon took it.
They carried the stuff back to the car and Yoongi started it up, driving them back to his house.
Namjoon held Yoongi's hand the whole way back, bringing it up to caress his cheek.
"Did you have a good birthday, baby?" Yoongi murmured, driving with one hand as his other held Namjoon's cheek so delicately.
"This has been the best birthday ever." Namjoon admitted, turning his head to press a kiss to the doms hand. "Thank you."
Yoongi smiled. "Good. I'm happy whenever you're happy, sweetheart."
Butterflies erupted in the students tummy for some reason.
-
They got back to Yoongi's, and Namjoon didn't want to leave. Wanted to stay the night with the dom, wrapped up in his arms and covered in heavy blankets that smelled like Yoongi.
"I'm sorry baby," Yoongi said sadly. "But you need to get back home. Your parents are going to get suspicious about where you've been spending all your time lately."
Namjoon didn't care, fuck his parents, but Yoongi was just as stubborn as him, and when the dom wanted something to go his way, it went his way.
"But dom has one more present for you." Yoongi said, raising himself onto his tip toes to press a little kiss to Namjoon's nose.
Namjoon was excited as Yoongi handed him a wrapped gift. It was a little bigger than a shoe box, and light.
He immediately went to open it, but Yoongi stopped him by placing a hand over the bow.
"Open this when you get home, baby."
"Why?" Namjoon whined.
"You'll see."
Namjoon was starting to like it when Yoongi said that.
-
He drove home after Yoongi let him have another piece of cake, unable to stop smiling.
He parked and grabbed the present, holding it close to his chest as he hurried inside.
"Whats that?" His parents immediately asked.
"A birthday gift." He said honestly.
"From who?"
"Jimin." He lied.
Approving it, his parents let him run up to his room, glad their son was spending so much time with the young, respectable Park Jimin.
Namjoon locked his door behind him, eager to finally open the present.
He set it on his bed and sat down, tearing open the gold wrapping paper.
It was a small basket, a mini version of the one Yoongi had brought with them on their picnic.
Namjoon smiled at the memory this little basket would bring, and opened the lid.
He pulled out a box of yellow tea, recognizing the brand Yoongi always made for him. His favorite.
Pleased that he would be able to have the comforting tea at home now too, he set it aside, pulling out the next item.
It was a sweatshirt, but not just any sweatshirt.
It was one of Yoongi's favorites. Namjoon knew because the dom had worn it multiple times when Namjoon was over, even wore it to bed a couple times.
And the best part?
It smelled just like the dom, as if it had been sprayed by Yoongi's cologne before being wrapped up.
Namjoon buried his face in the comforting hoodie, inhaling deeply.
Relaxing automatically, as if Yoongi was right next to him, Namjoon pulled the sweater on, hugging himself in the warm fabric as the doms scent covered him.
There were three things left in the basket, all small.
One was a QR code, and when Namjoon scanned it, the song Yoongi had wrote for him played from his phone.
Namjoon put it on repeat, shaking his head with a smile as he remembered what Yoongi had said.
"You'll hear it again, baby."
The next item was a full bottle of cologne, and when Namjoon sprayed a test puff into the air, he realized it was Yoongi's. Now he could wash the sweatshirt and spray this to make it smell like the dom again.
Yoongi had really thought of everything.
The last item in the basket was a card, and Namjoon opened it.
Baby,
Happy Birthday :)
I know you don't like your birthday, but I hope after today, that'll change. You're an amazing man, Namjoon. Strong, brave and beautiful. I'm so proud of you every single day, sweetheart.
Win or lose, I'm glad you'll be with me forever.
This is a Yoongi care package, so whenever you need some comfort just make some tea or wear the sweatshirt or play the song, and I promise I'll be there with you, baby.
I'm always by your side, Namjoon.
- Yoongi
Namjoon didn't realize the tear was running down his cheek until it splashed onto the card.
He hastily wiped his eyes, not wanting to ruin the touching card.
He tucked everything into the basket and hid it under his bed.
He climbed under the covers, sighing as the warm sweatshirt fit him like a hug, the scent of it making him sleepy.
Before he passed out into a comfortable night's sleep, he sent off a quick text.
Not A Sub: thank you yoongi. For everything
Yoongi: you're the most welcome, baby.
