____________________________________________

The door opened for Jungkook by one of the maids, and Jungkook just walked in- eyes fogged. He walked across the foyer through the living room to the stairs up to the bedroom. He walked in and took his coat off, throwing it onto the couch. He fell onto the bed, looking up.

What the fuck just happened?

He's still processing it.. kind of.

Taehyung.. is alive?

All these years.. all these years he spent crying and screaming and hoping Taehyung was happy up there. He was... alive?!

Jungkook doesn't know if he's relieved, angry, happy, or upset.

Right now, he's just confused. And a little dazed. He.. needs to sleep.

Take a bath. No- you already took a bath. Drink some tea. Yeah- he can do that! He can drink tea! Or, nope, it's almost dinner time- why would he drink tea? Okay- wow. He just- he feels a little- wow.

"Jungkook," A voice snapped, and Jungkook snapped his head towards the door and saw Chris. "I called your name 3 times, are you deaf?"

Jungkook stood up, smoothening his shirt. "S-sorry. I- um- I was just-" Jungkook stammered, and then saw how he made a mess of the room by flinging the jacket around and rushed over to pick it up, smoothening it properly and laying it over the couch neatly.

"I came home early. Work got cut short so I decided to come home and see you." Chris said, walking into the room and towards Jungkook.

Jungkook stared at the ground, and then felt two fingers tug on his chin, lifting it up and making him look at the older man. "You look like you saw a ghost." Chris said, and Jungkook blinked.

"I think I did." Jungkook whispered, and then Chris reached forward, tucking a bit of hair behind Jungkook's ear.

"What's wrong?" Chris asked softly, and Jungkook bit his lip, looking at Chris tentatively.

"Nothing. I just- I don't feel that great. Think I have some fever. Or something." Jungkook said, and Chris sighed.

"You're at home all day, Jungkook. How do you even get sick?" Chris asked, stepping away from him and taking his suit jacket off.

Jungkook gulped, toying with the engagement ring on his finger. "W-well I don't like being home all day." Jungkook said, and Chris gave him a look he gives him all the time. One telling him to shut up, basically.

So Jungkook did. And he looked down, an anxious feeling in his chest. He didn't know what it was. But he felt anxious, for some reason. Like there was a parasite inside his stomach eating him alive. He's sure it's because of Taehyung.

"Doll," Chris said, walking over to Jungkook. Jungkook let out a little tsk, and Chris sighed. "Right right- sorry. Forgot you don't like being called that." Chris mumbled, and Jungkook looked at him.

"Listen. Why don't we go eat dinner and watch a nice movie, yeah? Will that make my princess feel better?" Chris whispered, and Jungkook felt his cheeks tint and just nodded.

Chris leaned forward, placing his hands under Jungkook's thighs, lifting him up easily. Jungkook smiled softly, wrapping his arms around his neck and legs around his waist, placing his head in the crevice of his neck.

"Princess feels tired?" Chris asked, and Jungkook hummed. "Daddy'll make you feel better. C'mon. Let's eat." Chris whispered, and then placed Jungkook down on his chair, making him giggle lightly.

Jungkook looked in front of him, and his smile faded when he saw the same salad on his side. Tomatoes and lettuce and boiled beans with some kind of vegan dressing on it. Jungkook tried not to show his discontent as he grabbed a fork. He looked up, seeing the rice and meat stew the maid prepared for Chris, and just looked away.

"Hey," Jungkook said, and then looked up. "Can I come to work with you tomorrow?" Jungkook asked, biting into a tomato.

"You'll get bored and keep disturbing me like always, Jungkook." Chris said, and Jungkook pouted. "B-But- I promise I won't! I just-"

"Don't push it, baby. You know how irritating you can get with your constant talking. Just sit at home and watch some movies or something. Plus- it's adult stuff. You'll get bored, pet." Chris said, and Jungkook looked down.

Sounded awfully familiar to things he heard when he was younger.

Jungkook just nodded, not pushing it any further. He knows how Chris gets when he's angry.

After eating, Chris told Jungkook to go pick a movie out on the big tv, and Jungkook rushed over to the lounge and looked for movies on Netflix. He scrolled past all the usual types of movies they watch- and then gasped.

Tangled.

Jungkook hadn't seen Tangled in.. in ages. He just.. he didn't like to- it brought back memories. But he craved watching it- after all, it's still his favourite movie in the world.

Jungkook giggled to himself, hearing the lounge door open. "Chris, look! It's-"

Chris put his hand up, shutting Jungkook up, since he was talking on the phone. Probably some work thing. Jungkook shut up and looked ahead, excitedly fidgeting with his fingers.

After his call was over, Chris sat down on the couch, pulling Jungkook close to him. Jungkook grinned. "Look, Chris! It's Tangled! Remember- I told you, it's my favourite movie? You have to see it, it's-"

"Jungkook- are you fucking serious?" Chris snapped, and then grabbed the remote out of Jungkook's hand. "It's a kids movie. Don't be dumb. Just watch it in your own time." Chris said, and Jungkook cowered his head.

"I-I wanted to watch it with you.." Jungkook squeaked, but Chris didn't hear him, just scrolling through the list of movies.

He ended up clicking on some old one from the 90's. Jungkook gulped, trying not to show his discontent. He just laid his head on Chris' shoulder, feeling him place his arm around him.

"What's this movie about?" Jungkook asked, and Chris pressed some button on the remote and the lights of the room turned off.

"Something about Mafias." Chris said, and Jungkook tensed. He nodded, looking at the screen tentatively.

Jungkook fell asleep halfway through the movie. Mainly because half the things were way too over the top. Mafias aren't all sleazy filled with murdering and rape, jeez. (Okay it kind of is, but still).

Jungkook's guessing the movie ended- because Chris picked him up, letting sleepy Jungkook wrap his arms and legs around him again. "Daddy," Jungkook squeaked, and Chris patted his back gently, carrying him to their bedroom.

Jungkook dug his nose into his neck, trying to take in his scent. The scent of a thousand dollar perfume and Wallstreet and luxury.

But for some reason, the only thing on his mind was the scent of cigarettes, leather, and motorbike fume.

"The coffee is fucking burnt, Jungkook." Chris snapped, and Jungkook nodded hurriedly, quickly mixing another coffee mixture into the coffee machine. "Literally asking you to do one fucking thing. It's not that goddamn difficult."

"I-I know. I'm sorry, I-I didn't realise." Jungkook stammered, hurriedly taking the toast out of the toaster, hearing the eggs frying on the pan.

Jungkook grabbed the plate of toast and eggs and a cup of coffee and rushed to the dining table, placing everything down. Chris looked at everything, and then turned to look at Jungkook.

"Butter?" Chris said, eyebrows furrowed, showing his frustration. Jungkook nodded, quickly running to the kitchen and grabbing some butter and running back.

"Y'know- it's not a lot I ask you to do, Jungkook." Chris said, looking at his watch while drinking the coffee. Jungkook nodded, standing behind the chair.

"I know. I know. I'm sorry, I-I just- my mind slipped." Jungkook said, and Chris quickly ate down bits of everything, and then sighed, wiping his mouth quickly with the napkin.

"I'm late." Chris cursed, and then stood up in a hurry, grabbing his phone and heading towards the door.

Jungkook walked up behind him. "O-okay. I'll- um- I'll call you-" Jungkook started, but Chris slammed the door shut, making Jungkook flinch lightly.

Jungkook cowered his head, feeling stupid. He can't even do a simple thing right. Chris is right, he works all day and gives Jungkook everything. The least Jungkook can do is wake up on time and not burn his fucking coffee.

The next few hours were spent as usual. Jungkook taking a longer bath than usual, wasting more time putting on light makeup, taking more time picking his outfit.

His mind was just.. cluttered. Thousands of thoughts going through his head. He was still so goddamn confused, still wondering if yesterday was a dream or not.

It was. It was a dream.

Maybe if he convinced himself it was a dream everything would be fine. Yeah. Totally.

Jungkook's phone began ringing and he picked it up quickly, seeing Chris calling. "Hello?"

"I forgot some files in my study. Bring them to my office as soon as possible. Just give them to the driver-" Chris said.

"No! That's okay- I'll come." Jungkook said, and heard a sigh. "Fine, whatever. Be quick." Chris said, and before Jungkook could say anything, Chris cut the call.

Jungkook quickly rushed to the study and grabbed his files- and then looked at the mirror in the study and saw the rather drag clothes he was wearing.

Jungkook remembered Chris yelling at him once because he wore some plain clothes to his office. Dress rich, Jungkook reminded him self- as Chris always does. Jungkook just listens to him because he's always right, or so he thinks.

Jungkook quickly put on a grey fur coat along with some nice sunglasses and jeans as usual. Jungkook didn't know how he felt about the fur coats. Chris bought him some and Jungkook freaked out when he realised they were real fur. Chris snapped at him and told him to stop acting childish- but bought him faux fur coats anyways.

Jungkook walked out of the house with the files, getting into the car. They reached the Alphacom building which was huge, with big glass windows and people walking in and out at all times.

Jungkook walked out of the car, and into the building.

"Good morning Jungkook." Some voices came, and Jungkook just smiled at them, not saying more. He got into the lift, heading to the 28th floor. Once he reached he walked out, walking to Chris' office.

Jungkook saw his assistant, Holiday, sitting outside his office behind her desk with her eccentric blonde hair and big glasses.

"Holly!" Jungkook called, and Holiday looked up, and grinned. "Jungkook! Hi! Did you get the files?"

Jungkook nodded, and she reached her hand out to take them, but Jungkook cleared his throat. "Is he busy right now?"

"Uh- no not really. You can go in if you want."

Holiday said, and Jungkook smiled, nodding.

He walked into Chris' office, seeing him on the phone with someone, talking angrily like he usually does. Jungkook placed the two files on his desk, and then stood in front of it, waiting for him to finish his call.

"I don't give a shit, John. Yeah, I need the share prices to go up. Just- shut the fuck up, will you? Great. Call me when some work gets done." Chris snapped, and then ended the call, placing his phone back on the table.

Jungkook gulped, and then wondered if he should've entered at all. He doesn't know if it's normal to be scared of your fiancé, he assumes it is when he's this intimidating.

"Thanks." Chris said, about the files. Jungkook nodded, turning around quickly. He was about to walk out, and then took a deep breath, and turned around.

"I'm sorry, daddy. Didn't mean to burn your coffee and make you late. I promise I won't do it again." Jungkook squeaked, and Chris looked up at him and smirked.

"Come here." Chris said, and Jungkook smiled and rushed up to him, sitting himself down on his lap. "Daddy's not mad." Chris said, and Jungkook leaned in and pressed their lips together, feeling his scruff against his baby cheeks.

"I know you can be a dumb little housewife sometimes, princess. It's not your fault. Daddy just spoils you too much." Chris said, gripping Jungkook's waist and kissing his cheek.

Jungkook stilled for a few seconds, a little confused- and let out a nervous giggle. "D-Dumb little housewife?" Jungkook squeaked, and Chris sighed- but then the door to his office opened.

"Uh- sir. You have to interview this new guy who's applying for the sales job." Holiday said, and Jungkook got up from Chris' lap, and Chris raised his eyebrow.

"Who?" Chris asked, and Holiday huffed. "Victor- something? I don't know- but I told you his resume was really good. Went to Yale and everything." Holiday said, and Chris sighed.

"Right right. Send him in." Chris said, and Jungkook walked towards the door. "You can stay, baby. Just make me a glass of whiskey." Chris said, and Jungkook nodded, his sunglasses perched on his head.

Jungkook walked over to the little table on the side with the assortments of alcohol and crystal glasses. Jungkook picked up a glass, mixing up the drink he always makes for Chris at home. He heard the door open and close, footsteps walk in.

"Victor. Nice to meet you. Take a seat." Chris said, as Jungkook poured the whiskey into the glass.

"Nice to meet you too Mr. Tang." Jungkook heard a deep voice say, and his eyes widened and the whiskey spilled onto the table accidentally.

"Darling, don't make a mess." Chris said to Jungkook, who still had his back to them.

To Chris and Victor- who happened to sound a heck of a lot like Kim fucking Taehyung.

Jungkook poured the drink in and then gulped, hearing some exchange of words. "So, I see here you've got years of experience. You're from South Korea?" Chris asked, and Jungkook heard a hum.

"Yes sir. Worked at a firm like this in Korea after college." Taehyung said, and Jungkook almost scoffed. Fucking liar.

"Ah, I see. My mother's from Korea." Chris said. "Oh. Where from?" Taehyung asked. "Seoul. She moved here at a young age. Nonetheless- darling could you get me my drink?" Chris asked, sounding a little impatient.

Taehyung turned to see who he was talking to, and saw a figure in a big grey fur coat mixing a drink. "Y-yes, " Jungkook squeaked, voice sounding more high pitched than usual. Taehyung raised an eyebrow, but turned back around.

Jungkook grabbed the drink and walked over to Chris' table, hiding his face as well as he could. Jungkook looked a little bit when 'Victor' wasn't looking, and almost gasped.

Fucking LIAR. 'Victor' my ass this is Kim lying on his resume Taehyung.

Jeongguk turned back as quickly and kept the glass down, about to walk out.

"He's from Korea as well." Chris said, and Jungkook almost cursed, telling him to shutthefuckup. "You probably know him-" Chris started, and Jungkook cleared his throat, trying to walk out of the room.

"Oh, really? I-I don't know if-" Taehyung started, and Chris chuckled.

"Don't be so shy, Jungkook." Chris said, and Taehyung's eyes widened, and Jungkook froze.

"Jung-Jungkook?" Taehyung let out, voice coming out squeaky. Jungkook turned, finally facing him.

They both looked at each other for a few seconds, both having wide eyes.

"I don't know him." Taehyung concluded, and Jungkook nodded. "Yeah me neither."

Jungkook said, and then tried walking out, but Chris rose his eyebrow.

"Alright. Kook- just grab me that file." Chris said, and Jungkook almost let out an ugh, not being able to get out of this room. Jungkook just nodded, grabbing the file and giving it to Chris.

"Are you- um- is-is this your assistant? B-because- um- I thought.. Holiday was-" Taehyung started, and Chris opened his mouth to speak, but Jungkook cut him off.

"Yup. Yup yup. I'm his assistant. Bye." Jungkook said quickly, and tried moving out, but Chris chuckled.

"Being an assistant takes work, Jungkook. I think Holiday might get offended." Chris laughed, and Jungkook glared at him, trying to tell him to shutthefuckup.

"Oh?" Taehyung asked, looking between Chris and Jungkook. Jungkook gave Taehyung a look, and then gulped.

"Introduce yourself." Chris said, and Jungkook saw how Taehyung was looking at him. "Don't be shy, baby."

Taehyung froze at the last sentence, and saw how Jungkook bit his lip in agitation.

"I-I'm Jungkook.... Jungkook Tang." Jungkook teailed, and Taehyung's eyebrows furrowed, eyes growing bigger in.. confusion.. and slight upset.

Taehyung's eyes teailed down, until he spotted the giant ring on Jungkook's finger.

"Married?" Taehyung asked, word coming out weakly.

"Engaged." Jungkook answered, and Taehyung snapped his eyes back up to him.

"Not much of a difference, is there?" Taehyung asked, looking into Jungkook's eyes.

"There's a thin line." Jungkook replied, looking as intensely at Taehyung.

"Great. Great to hear, Mr. Tang." Taehyung said, turning back around to look at Chris, letting out a forced smile.

"..Anyways. You can go, doll." Chris said, and Taehyung tensed at that, gripping onto his seat chair. Jungkook tensed too- and just nodded and walked out.

At least they both concluded they were both liars. (In more ways than one.)
