One of Callista's most enjoyable parts of the week were the weekly study sessions with two members of each house.

It was created by the teachers to encourage inter-house bonding. She signed up with Fallon, who actually enjoyed studying, and was put into a study group with other fifth years. Now her seventh year group consisted of the same people.

Sidney Hearst and Anya Chang of Ravenclaw. Last year, Callista had been in a relationship with Anya, and though it ended shortly after it started and the two remained good friends.

From Hufflepuff it was Reece Bloomfield and Amelia Harper. They were two of the kindest people Callista has met and it made for fun study sessions.

From Gryffindor, and this made Callista nervous, was Lily Evans and Alice Fortescue. Callista was sure they would hate her, and at first they were uneasy. To her surprise, they soon warmed up to her and got along during the study sessions.

For her, these study sessions were a break from reality. She got to relax a little and no one questioned who she was sitting with because it was assigned. She could talk to people and not worry what everyone else thought.

She pulled the chair out at the table they always sat at—the only one next to a window that sat eight people—and sat down next to Amelia and Reece, Fallon following after. The other four sat across from them.

Lily spoke up first, ever the leader. "Does anyone want to go over any specific subjects?"

Reece nodded. "I need some help in Potions."

"I wouldn't mind going over potions either," Callista added. Reece, Lily and herself were the only ones who took Potions.

"Okay, so we can go over Potions." Lily nodded and looked around the table, already getting out her things for potions. "What about the rest of you?"

Fallon spoke now, "I need help with Herbology."

Amelia offered her help and Alice wanted to do herbology too. The two Ravenclaws opted for studying Charms because their class—Ravenclaws and Gryffindors—had a test the following week.

After Reece and Callista moved up spaces so Fallon could sit next to Amelia, they all began their separate studying.

"Does anyone have Potions 101?" Lily asked looking up at the two in front of her.

Callista reached into her book bag but she could not find the book. "I'm sure I had it. I must have returned it already, let me take a look," she said, though she was sure she had not returned it with her last lot of books.

She walked to the other side of the library and began scouring the shelves for Potions 101: The Advanced Guide to Potion-Making.

She went to grab it but a hand got there before she could. She turned around and saw Sirius Black holding it above his head with a stupid grin.

"Sirius."

"Callista."

"Give it back." She held out her hand and sighed. She did not have time for this.

"I don't think you need it that much," he shrugged.

She clenched her jaw, "I need it more than you, prick."

He gasped, putting a hand to his chest. "I'm hurt, oh, the name calling!"

She wacked him in the arm. "Shut up!" She hissed. There was no chance she would be kicked out of the library because of him.

"Give me the book, what are you even playing at?"

"Shhh." He put his fingers to his lips and guided her to the edge of the shelf where she had a view of most of the tables in library, including part of her group which were tucked behind another shelf.

"Sirius," she began, certain something was going to happen.

She was right.

A loud pop sounded across the library covering everyone in the library in red paint. The only things that remained clean were all of the books and the section she and Sirius were standing in.

The sounds that followed were gasps and screams of distress and outrage.

"You took my book," she said, glaring at Sirius.

He held up his hands in defence while handing her the book. "I did it to help you! James didn't want to prank you too."

"Does he realise that Evans is in my study group?"

The look on his face said it all. They were in for some trouble now.

"Sirius Black!" Madam Pince shouted, knowing he entered the library earlier.

"Shit," he whispered and then grabbed her wrist.

She tried to yank it away. "What are you doing?"

"You're the only other one not covered in paint, you'll be blamed, let's go!"

He pulled her forward and ran out of the library with her following behind.

"Who's your little friend?" Madam Pince shouted as they ran out. "I will find out!"

Sirius was like her brother. Her annoying little brother who could not stay out of trouble.

"Sirius," she hissed and they came to a stop.

At that moment, James appeared from under his invisibility cloak. "Hi Cal!" He waved with too much enthusiasm.

James and Sirius took one look at each other and burst out laughed. Despite Callista's annoyance she could not stop the smile that slipped into her face.

"Lily is going to kill you two."

James stopped laughing, "Lily? Was Lily there?"

"James, darling, she's been in my study group for two years."

James scratched the back of his neck. "Oops."

She sighed and said her goodbyes to the two Gryffindors before making her way back to the library to check on Fallon and the others.

Fallon was going to be furious.

She was.

"How are you not covered in paint?" Fallon shouted as soon as Callista rounded the corner.

Callista carried a sheepish smile on her face, "Perks of being friends with James Potter." She did not miss the change in Lily's demeanour at the mention of James. She suspected Lily was a bit jealous or even just bothered by her friendship with James. She felt bad, because she did not think Lily realised that James was actually in love with her.

Lily was fuming, and she had no doubt that beneath the red paint her face was the same shade.

"Did you know about this?" Alice asked, standing beside Lily. She was never one to get angry.

"Not at all, Sirius pulled me away at the last second."

Fallon grumbled under her breathe and then began walking away. "I'm going to go take a shower," she called over her shoulder.

Callista muffled her chuckle and after saying goodbye and getting her things from the girls she followed Fallon to the Slytherin dorms.
