Chapter 37: Memories

Where am I? Who am I? What is this feeling.. why is it so dark.

Who are you? Why are you in my head?

Answer my question first.

Fine.. my names Y/N. Now who are you.

I thought you would know.. I'm just as lost as you are.. Ah! My name is Yumi!' I'm here to look after Deku.. who's that?

Midoriya? So.. you're telling me he's going to be taken as well?

I suppose so. My programs all foggy.

Program?

That's what I'm told it's called. My uh- thoughts?

You mean your memories?

I wouldn't say they are, no. They're not very memorable.

Well then, if you're stuck in my head, I hope we can be friends!!

I don't think I'll be allowed- where did the light come from!

"Y/N.." Bakugo whispered from across the room, as he was tied against the metal chair, the gag under his chin.

"Yumi are you in there?" Shigaraki asked, putting his face right in mine.
I felt my vision shift into black.

"Yeah I am. You're Tomura I would take?" I said.
No, I wasn't saying that. Someone else was. With my voice.

Bakugo looked at me, his face absolutely horrified. Scared. What had happened to me?
My head was foggy as well.

___________

"Stop squirming you UA rat!" Dabi growled, grabbing at my throat as he threw me against the wall.
I felt myself cough, choking on my own blood.
Bakugo was tightly chained to his chair, a gag covering his mouth as he screamed out weakly.
He was screaming as loud as he could.
But it was no use. No one could hear us.
We were trapped here.

"Dabi what's taking so long. Get her bleeding already. Spitting up blood wont help with the transfer." Shigaraki said, scratching his neck vigorously.

"Well why don't you get the crazy teens needles?" Dabi scoffed.
"She'll suck my plaything dry! All For One said he isn't touching her until we have a sample of her blood and she's knocked out cold." Shigaraki scowled.

"I can do the knocking out part." Dabi grinned.

"Bakugo!" I yelled, as I tried to run around the villains, the monsters.
All to no avail, really.
Dabi grabbed at my leg, burning it for what felt like the hundredth time that night.
I let out an excruciating scream, as I saw Bakugo wince, and shake violently in his chair, to try divert the attention.

Of course it wouldn't work.
From the corner of my eye I saw Dabi grab at an empty bottle from the bar.

"Great try little mouse, but you can't escape us." Dabi chuckled, as he hit the bottle down onto my head, as I felt everything go black.

"Finally. For fucks sake she's persistent."  Dabi grumbled, grabbing at y/n's arm, cutting across it, watching as it bled, for almost a minute before Shigaraki came over, holding the vial to her skin.

Bakugo felt like he was going to cry.
Why did he feel this way about you. He had no idea why, and it was tearing him apart.
He wanted to kill them for you, to hold you in his arms.

But all he could do was watch as they threw you around like a rag doll, not caring for the harm they were causing.

Shigaraki opened a door which led into the Nomu factory.
That's what it was really.
That's when Bakugo felt his stomach lurch.
They planned to experiment on you.

That must have been their intention to begin with.
It had nothing to do with your quirk.

It was his fault. He was the original target after all.

Within the hour he heard screams from the room next door.
With every of your blood curdling screams of agony, he felt his heart shatter.

When they finally brought you back in, you were covered in blood, and unconscious.
Had the rings under your eyes always been there?

_______________

"Yes, that's me. So it worked. I'm impressed. Is y/n still conscious though." Shigaraki asked.

"Yeah she is. Yeah and she isn't going anywhere you crusty fucking mole rat." I spat.

"Well it worked halfway then." Shigaraki grumbled.
"We have time. But for now, Yumi, focus on taking over properly. This won't work if Y/N still has a day in everything."

With that he went over to the bar, taking a seat as he rambled to Bakugo.

"Go play in some traffic, fuck face. I'm not interested in joining your shitty league." Bakugo scoffed.
His eyes wandered over to me, whom Twice had tied up.
Bakugo's eyes went soft as he looked to me.
He must have been pitying me.

"Stop looking at your girlfriend over there and talk to me. You either join or we kill her." Shigaraki said.
I could sense him freeze in that moment.
I kept trying to use my quirk, but it was hard.
There was a barrier I had to get through.
It was just getting stronger.

"Yumi.. can you please let me use my quirk." I whispered.
"If I do you're going to hurt these people.. for some reason I feel close to them, so you can't. They made me." Yumi said.
"I won't kill them. That's not very heroic." I whispered back.

"Fine then." She grumbled, and the blockage disappeared.

I glanced to Bakugo, as I lifted a shadow slightly in front of me.
He just shook his head at me.

"Is that a no to join us?" Shigaraki asked.

"Don't think I'm talking to you. But yeah, the answers still no."

Internally he was hoping the heroes would come soon.
He knew they wouldn't joke around, and would most likely hurt you if they felt like it.

Dabi walked over to me, as I watched.

"Fine then." He scoffed.
As Shigaraki nodded, I felt heat in front of my face.
A bright blue flame.

The shadow sliced through the ropes easily, as I slung my leg up, kicking Dabi in the nuts.

As he stumbled over, I stood up.

Bakugo just shook his head at me.
"You are a dumbass." He chuckled.

"I know." I shrugged.
But he wasn't wrong.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six.
Six villains in this room alone that would kill me.
Seven including Kurogiri, but I don't think it's that easy to kill someone through teleporting.

All For One was also in the other room.
All he had to do was steal my quirk.

Shigaraki reached for his computer, to talk to him.
Fuck.
So I did something very rational, and kicked the hand off of Shigaraki's face.
He only glared at me.

"Yumi take control. Do your fucking job or I'll get rid of you." Shigaraki growled.
I felt my power shrink, as my head went black.
Suddenly I couldn't control myself, and I was moving and talking.
I was but I wasn't.
That wasn't me:

"Okay okay she's under control. No need to threaten me." Yumi said, waving her hands in front of her.

"Ah you've gained full control. Half of it, anyway. Now sit in the corner and shut up. Block the quirk and you can go away now. I want to talk to Y/N." Shigaraki smirked.

As I felt myself able to move again, I was chained in the corner, as Dabi kicked me against the wall like a punching bag.

"This is what will happen if you don't join us. It's only logical, Bakugo." Shigaraki said, as he placed the hand back over his face once more.
I looked to him, shaking my head.
A few kicks wasn't much.

They had stabbed and injected poison and venom into my body next door.
It couldn't hurt more then the sensation of your veins burning with acid.

"Dabi, hang her." Shigaraki said plainly.
"Don't you need her alive?" Dabi said, before shrugging, grabbing at the chain hanging from the roof.
That's when I truly felt scared.

Yumi was blocking my quirk. I couldn't heal.

I was truly going to die.

"Leave Y/n the fuck out of this. Your problem is with me, and not her." Bakugo hissed.
"Well you seem to be quite fond of her." Shigaraki said. "Maybe this will convince you."

As I felt the chain wrap around my neck, as Dabi let go of my, all I could do was gag, choke and splutter.

My vision became more spotted by the second.
My hands were tied behind my back as well.
I didn't even have a chance.

"FINE!" Bakugo yelled.
"Get her off that fucking chain. I- I'll join you.." he whispered.
Dabi pulled me down, throwing me into the corner.

"Good, good-"

"Pizza Delivery!"

_________
That was the first time I met Yumi.
Yes, she was obedient. But she was scared.
So was I. I have long forgiven her for it all.

We became so close.
It was my second half.

As I watched her fling herself from the building, however, I have never felt that much pain.

The scream that ricocheted from the school that day was not from pain, but from a deep sadness.

Of losing half of yourself you couldn't live without.
