TWENTY TWO

A mere peck could destroy everything.

Just a mere peck.

Taehyung heard the door closed as his mother walked out of the room. Not before shooting an expression towards him which says 'we need to talk about it'. And the way she shut the door added that she wasn't very pleased by his behaviour. Guests are always important to her, so she wouldn't even like to exchange words with Taehyung in front of Jungkook.

The younger jumped on the bed, watching a pomeranian breed dog wagging tail at him. Seems like vibing along with him. He let the puppy smell himself before the puppy barked at him.

"...But I need your lips on mine.. Can you kiss me more? We're so young, boy.. We ain't got nothin' to lose oh ~ oh ~"

Taehyung caught Jungkook in his arms limply who suddenly decided to jump on him. He closed his eyes as he knew that it'd be happening in future anyways but not this soon.

"It's just principle, baby hold me closer 'Cause I like the way you groove," Jungkook sang before wrapping his arms around Taehyung's neck and legs around his hips. The elder grasped Jungkook's bottom to support him from falling down while the younger male began to kiss upon his neck playfully.

"Sugar, I ain't no dummy, dummy… I like to say, what if, but if… We could kiss and just cut the rubbish… Then I might be onto somethin','' Jungkook hummed, puckering out his lips, asking Taehyung to kiss him. Taehyung gazed at him, sighing softly.

"Get off me," he said calmly. He never liked to take out his frustration on someone else. Dropping Jungkook on feets he headed to the door — honestly he wasn't even mad at Jungkook as the younger isn't aware of his mother's sudden gaze change. He takes the responsibility of whatever had pissed his mother off.

Jungkook whined. "You're so boring, old man." He humphed, taking tannie in his embrace — whirling around with the dog and humming to the song.

Taehyung gulped down when his gaze met Jungkook's round ass as those short shorts rode up while the younger was jumping and squealing like he hadn't dropped a bomb in his life.

Jungkook cradles the dog before turning to Taehyung who didn't fail to notice the string of his blue panties as his tee lifted up a little bit.

"Your dog is better than you and your mom who didn't even greet me and gave me a look like i have done something." He handed Taehyung his dog before going to the bathroom. Tannie barked and got off Taehyung's hands before following Jungkook who was heading to the bathroom.

"Hey! Don't mean."

Jungkook ignored him and picked up the dog.

"Aw, baby. You wanna take a shower first?"

Tannie barked in response.

"What's its name, Taehyung?" Jungkook closed his eyes when tannie started licking his cheeks.

"Kim Yeontan,"

Jungkook pushed back his head to avoid getting licked. He raised an eyebrow at Taehyung.

"Kim?"

"If I name anything 'Kim' it means it belongs to me." Taehyung explained briefly. Jungkook's lips formed into 'o' while nodding to himself. He looked down at the pomeranian dog — a smile crept out of his face.

"I miss my jack now."

"Jack?" Taehyung asked.

"My cat," Jungkook responded. "Jack is going to be happy if he meets Yeontan."

Taehyung chuckled at the cuteness of the younger who was caressing yeontan lovingly.

"Of course, tannie is-"

"Then we can breed them,"

Taehyung got interrupted by Jungkook and after what he heard made him pursed his lips into a straight line and made him completely speechless.

"Join me or I'm not returning your dog," Jungkook winked at Taehyung before opening the bathroom door.

"Taehyung,"

Taehyung froze up on his spot when he heard his mother's voice. He just had his breakfast with Jungkook who immediately rushed outside to play with yeontan. While he was left behind to do the dishes. He turned his head towards his mother after taking off his gloves for washing the dishes.

"Yes, mom."

"Sit," His mother instructed while gesturing to him to sit across from her on the dining table. Jungkook wasn't in sight.

Taehyung took the seat, slightly nervous.

"What's your relationship with Jungkook?" Haeun asked straightforwardly, hands laced with each other as they rested on the dining table. But all she got was silence from Taehyung because he himself was confused about their relationship.

What are they? Boyfriends? Absolutely no as Jungkook made himself clear that he doesn't do relationships. Friends with benefits? No, they haven't done anything like that, maybe only shared a few kisses, nothing more than it.

"Taehyung, I'm asking you something!" Haeun snapped, she looked a little bit hesitant.

"Are you gay, Taehyung?" She feared even asking it. Taehyung's eyes widened — he almost choked on his own spit.

"No- mom listen to me—"

"No, you listen to me. You're not gay or whatever. In a few months you're going to marry a girl, alright? If there's anything between you two, stop it." Terror clouded over her expression, she rubbed her temples in frustration.

"I do support gay or lesbian people but you can't be one of them. I've seen so many dreams about a happy family and only you could do it."

"Mom, do you know how homophobic you're sounding right now?"

Haeun groaned in frustration. "Drop the topic and I meant what I said. You already have promised me about—"

Taehyung interrupted his mom. "I'm still too young to get married, mom. I have my own dreams to achieve and whatever you're saying just makes no sense."

"You're the only one that I have in my life, cub."

"Stop, mom. You say this everytime, just because you—"

"Remember how your dad decided to leave us while you weren't even born. I took care of us, no one was there to help me throughout my pregnancy. No one had ever cared about you and me, yet I took care of us—"

"Why do you always sound like you didn't even want me to be born?"

Haeun's jaw clenched before banging her fist on the table.

"Taehyung, didn't I say cutting off your elders is rude and so impolite?"

Taehyung immediately avoided his gaze in guilt, looking everywhere but her.

"I'm sorry,"

"You better be. Doesn't city life swelling up your pride and teaching to misbehave with your own mother?"

"I'm sorry, mom." He apologised again and before his mother could say further. They heard a knock on the door — making Taehyung to stand from his place and going to the front door to open it.

"Tae!!!" Jungkook said panting before wrapping his arms around the elder. Taehyung saw tannie running into the house as well.

"Your dog can't beat me. I'm faster than him." He handed the leash of tannie which he took off when they reached the porch of the house.

"You were running behind tannie?!?" Taehyung asked, staring at the younger in disbelief. He pulled out of the hug and glanced down at Jungkook who nodded.

"Oh my god," He suddenly had the urge to facepalm himself so hard that he would transfer into some other dimension. Jungkook gulped down, catching breaths.

"Why!? Tannie is so good. He played with me, unlike you!" Jungkook complained, stomping his leg on the floor. "And Jack is so motherfucking lazy, he doesn't move an inch to play with me. I'm tired of watching cat videos where cats play with their owners!"

"Stop cursing!" Taehyung warned. His mother is already so furious and if she hears any kind of foul language, he's going to be homeless in a fraction of seconds.

Jungkook narrowed his eyes at him because Taehyung didn't bother to hear him. He pulled away from Taehyung and rushed into the living room.

"Dumbfuck! Dipshit! Asshole! Fucker-"

Taehyung swore as he never ran faster, catching Jungkook from behind — wrapping his one arm around him — and clasping his hand over Jungkook's mouth. The younger's voice got muffled and he wiggled in his grasp.

"Gotcha, doll." He grinned broadly. His lips were dangerous near Jungkook's ear. Taehyung pulled back his hand — hissing when Jungkook bit on his hand.

Taehyung was about to say something but his gaze met with his mother who seemed to look beyond confused while she was giving some water to yeontan. He stepped away from Jungkook who walked into the kitchen — to the refrigerator — and took out a cold drink for himself.

"Eww orange juice," Jungkook grimaced after tasting it.

"I love it." He added before pouring down the remaining orange juice into the glass and looked up after gulping down. Eyes big and cupped the glass with both of hands as he finished his drink. He noticed the awkward silence which made him glance over Taehyung.

Haeun forced a smile, not saying anything when their eyes met with each other. Taehyung was already so ashamed to glance at his mother who just was caught mingling with Jungkook.

Yeontan barked, making Jungkook to crouch down and pick him up while cooing at the fluff ball.

Jungkook sauntered to Taehyung with the dog. "Tae!! Can you come with me? I saw something interesting outside." He said, already dragging Taehyung from the living room, breaking the awkward silence in the room.

"We haven't finished talking, Taehyung." The voice appeared into the living, causing Taehyung to halt his steps. He turned to his mother and he saw the look on her face which says 'don't repeat your mistake'.

"Mom, we can have the conversation later."

Jungkook nodded in agreement but didn't fail to notice the change of tone.

Haeun ignored it. "You can't go outside right now, now take the seat—"

"Stop controlling him, if he wants to go out then he can." Jungkook interrupted. Taehyung's eyes widened in surprise before taking a glimpse of his mother's expression. Taehyung has ever dared to speak against her or never talked back whenever she says something — always nodding at whatever she decides for him.

The silence from his mother was already killing him.

"Jungkook—" Taehyung tried to warn him but only to get cut off by his mother.

"Sure, go outside." Haeun said blankly before turning her heels to go into the kitchen. Taehyung gulped in nervousness and tried to follow her but Jungkook grasped him by his wrist and dragged him outside of the house along with his dog.

"Kook, you shouldn't—"

"Taehyung, you never told me you have walking beef here and...and so many baby sheeps." Jungkook squealed and let tannie free from his grasp, who immediately rushed towards the grazing lands as they spotted some cattles grazing on the green field. The elder blushed deeply, looking down at their hands.

"Countryside has so much food. I love here,"

Taehyung's chest swells up with lots of adoration for the younger whose eyes were sparkling while staring at the cattles. Nevermind, he should forget about whatever happened in his house and enjoy it a little bit. He saw this coming when he brought Jungkook along with himself.

He couldn't help but rest his hand upon Jungkook's head to caress his soft looking brown hair which was shining under the warm sun.

"I also saw a strawberry farm. I wanted to go inside but didn't know how to approach them." The younger puffed out his lower lip, grabbing Taehyung by his tee shirt from the side while circling over the cotton material.

Taehyung chuckled at him. "You want to go to a strawberry farm?"

Jungkook glanced up at him with big bambi eyes — nodding. The elder smiled warmly at his eagerness.

"Okay, I will take you to my grandma's strawberry farm someday." Taehyung suggested.

"Really?" Jungkook's entire face brightened up. "But where does she live? I didn't see her and your mom is kind of bi-" He cleared his throat and coughed out. "is kind of mean to you so,"

Taehyung raised his eyebrow at him suspiciously.

"She isn't here."

"Oh- I'm so sorry. When did it happen? I feel so bad-"

"She's alive, what the hell?" The elder frowned in confusion, interrupting Jungkook in the middle. "You've stolen my last strawberry jam jar, did you forget that?" He questioned, 'strawberry jam' is kind of oxygen to Taehyung and he hasn't had them since Jungkook decided to steal the last one which was given by his grandma.

Jungkook smiled proudly as if he wasn't ashamed of his actions.

"I liked it. Literally finished it in three days."

Taehyung gasped in amusement before wrapping his arm around the tiny waist just to pull him closer and then raked up his fingers through Jungkook's brown locks.

Jungkook never liked when people tried to touch his hair but he let Taehyung to do it.

"My grandma will love you then, she likes to cook and feed me a lot that I sometimes get chubby cheeks if I stay for more than a week there."

Jungkook jumped out of excitement — eyes big and sparkly, looking like a cute puppy. Hands wrapped around Taehyung's wrists as he jumped and stood in front of the elder who holds so much adoration in his eyes.

"Please take me to her as well. I love grannys– they are so cute and lovely." Jungkook began, glancing up at the blonde honey haired tall man.

"I used to have a nana when I was 6 years old because my dads used to travel overseas and I was left alone in my house,"

Taehyung frowned a little bit.

"You know she sewed my Teddy's ear when I accidentally cut off Teddy's ear while giving it a haircut and I cried so much." Jungkook glanced down, making the elder male slide his fingers around the younger's petite wrists.

"But she died when I turned 10 years old. I cried so much thinking she would be back after seeing me sad but she didn't, why do people die, Taehyung? Can't we just live happily with each other?"

Taehyung observed the change of tone, he sounded so upset. He lifted his chin to look directly at him.

"Hey—"

"I know what you are going to say, I understand now. I'm a big boy now," Jungkook said proudly.

"Yes, you are."

Taehyung nodded, smilingly — patting the younger's head. He was scared that he might get diabetes if he continued to stare at Jungkook's eyes because they are so beautiful and clear — they heard a bark in between them.

Jungkook crouched down to pick tannie who brought him a twig from somewhere. Taehyung's hand didn't leave Jungkook's waist.

"Why don't you take tannie with you in Seoul?"

"I live alone and I have work so there's no one who will take care of him. So he's better here, moreover he has his friends here."

"I will take care of him,"

"Then I can put it into consideration." Taehyung laughed earnestly. He stared at the younger fondly who cradled tannie. As delusional as it sounds, they seem like a family. Standing under the warm sun and watching one of the scenery of their lives — but the thing is no one knows what the future holds for them.

"So then we can breed Jack and Tannie."

Taehyung held a big grin on his face as he stepped into his house while Jungkook rushed upstairs to take shower again as Yeontan's muddy paw dirtied his clothes. He locked the door behind after tannie entered the house. But his smile completely fades away when he sees his mother sitting on the couch.

"Hi, mom." He greeted her with a forced smile. Haeun stood up from her place and went in front of Taehyung.

"I called your aunt. They are coming tomorrow," She informed and walked past Taehyung.
