Chapter Twenty-Seven

A/N: While you all await Jungkook ft Jack Harlow's song 3D, I figure I would share my "3D" Jungkook with yall 😩.

*******

Jin extended his body into a full stretch, feeling a sense of relief and accomplishment. He marveled at the fact that, after enduring four years of challenges and hardships, he had finally arrived at the moment where he could submit his final paper. Despite his lingering uncertainty about his post-graduation plans, he found comfort in the fact that he no longer had to worry about the pressures of school.

"I am now free!" Excitedly, he celebrated in the hotel room, letting out a loud cheer as he jumped up from his seat after closing his laptop. "Damn it!" He winced in discomfort as the persistent soreness in his thighs reminded him of the previous night's activities.

As a typically flexible person, Jin considered his flexibility a benefit. However, due to his recent sedentary lifestyle, which mainly involved being walked by dogs, his muscles got a more intense workout than he had anticipated.

As he started to stretch his body, he pondered, "Where did he get all that energy from?" While he thought about the memories of his night spent with Jungkook. The experience was difficult to absorb because it differed from his initial expectations. The more he thought about the previous night, he shook his head and said, "It's cause I was horny. I am sure if we were to have sex again, it wouldn't have the same effect on me."

"Anyway, let me go and start getting ready because the less he comes in here and talks, the better our evening will be. I wonder if he realizes he would be the total package if he spoke less." Jin considered his words and added, "Probably not and probably won't ever."

Jungkook carefully scanned the shelves and displays of the store, his eyes darting from one item to another in search of the specific item he had in mind. While he was heading back to the hotel after his long afternoon of unnecessary meetings, he suddenly remembered something important. He asked the driver to stop so he could gather necessary items in case a similar situation occurred again, like the one from the previous night.

After locating the condoms and lube he wanted, he proceeded to the checkout area. To maintain his privacy, he used the self-checkout line instead of displaying his personal items for others to see.

He felt slightly regretful for not realizing that Seokjin wanted to take their relationship to the next level. He would have prepared more for it if he had known. The lack of advanced planning had caused him to step out of his comfort zone to purchase the essential preventive items needed for their trip. He preferred shopping for those items online, as it allowed for discreet delivery without any onlookers.

"Are you in need of any help?" While Jungkook was scanning his gathered items, a worker approached and asked.

Jungkook carefully gathered his belongings and neatly arranged them inside a bag. He then took a deep breath and briefly glanced at the worker nearby. He calmly stated with a hint of assertiveness, "I appreciate your concern, but I would have requested assistance if I required it."

"Sir, there is no need to be." They could not finish their words because Jungkook completed what he was doing and left.

Jin emerged from the bathroom, his wet hair clinging to his head. He joyfully sang a tune, swaying his head in time with the music only he could hear. He had spent time in a soothing bath that had been the most enjoyable part of his day, providing much-needed relief for his aching muscles.

Jungkook cleared his throat to announce his presence in the room. Jin, startled, stopped singing and exclaimed, "Crap, I didn't realize you were here!"

"I arrived an hour ago and have been waiting to use the bathroom. I didn't think I would need to wait this long. What do you do when you are in there? Why does it take you so long to get out of the bathroom? I understand that you might find it cozy, and the bathroom must feel honored to have your presence, but let's not turn it into your personal vacation spot."

Jin's mouth opened, but before he could speak, Jungkook interjected, "Further, I would appreciate it if you could change your clothes in the bathroom from now on. Your choice of attire, or lack thereof, with just a towel is quite distracting. We have dinner plans that Jimin has put much effort into arranging for us. Once I finish showering, I expect you will have already put on your clothes so we can leave promptly for our dinner engagement."

"Wow, you-"

"There is a necklace on the bed; I encountered it while passing the hotel's lobby jewelry store. Wear it tonight." Before entering the bathroom and closing the door, Jungkook stated.

Jin was in disbelief as he stared at the closed bathroom door, then quickly shifted his gaze to where Jungkook had been standing just moments before. "What an asshole! I swear!" He shouted as he walked towards the bed. When he saw the necklace, his eyes widened, and he carefully picked it up. The necklace had a pendant shaped like a moon. "Did Taehyung tell him I like things like this?" Jin questioned aloud as he examined the necklace.

"If he believes this will compensate for all the nonsense comments he just made, he might want to rethink his thoughts," Jin mumbled as he let the towel fall from around his waist and put on the necklace.

He walked over to the mirror in the room and examined the necklace, giving it a smile of approval before proceeding to get dressed.

By the time Jin got dressed and caught up on the latest news on his social media accounts, Jungkook had joined him in the room, looking sharp in a suit. It caused him to look over his attire, which was plain pants and a sweater shirt. He thought about asking if he should change but chose against it as he was comfortable the way he was.

"You like the necklace?" Jungkook's curiosity was piqued as he drew nearer to Jin, his fingers extending towards the pendant adorning Jin's neck, tracing over it. "It fits you better than expected, highlighting your best features and complementing your style. I will prioritize providing you with ample opportunities to experience the joy of wearing similar items in the future.

Also, I have something for you that I had planned to give you yesterday. However, numerous distractions you brought prevented me from giving it to you." Jungkook's hand reached into his pocket, emerging with a sleek black card that he extracted from his wallet.

"W-why are you giving me that?" Jin did not take the card because he was confused about why Jungkook wanted to give it to him.

"I want to ensure that you never have any unmet needs or desires as my partner. Take this and don't be concerned about spending too much. Unlike the limitations that may be present with your personal bank account, this does not have a spending limit."

Jin's eyes rolled in response to Jungkook's unnecessary comment. However, the initial part of Jungkook's statement left Jin feeling confused. "I am not your partner, so if you intend to give me something for that reason, you can choose to keep it."

Jungkook felt a sudden wave of confusion as he tried to make sense of Jin's response. "What do you mean by that? What exactly are you to me if you're not my partner?"

Jin sighed, feeling reluctant to engage in that particular conversation with Jungkook. "Can we go to dinner and talk about this later, please? I am hungry and can't have this conversation on an empty stomach."

"Considering that you've already spent two hundred dollars on room service today, are you certain you still have an appetite?"

Jin's eyes widened in surprise as he exclaimed, "Two hundred dollars? I find it hard to believe that it cost two hundred dollars. You are pulling my leg, aren't you?"

"Did you sign the bill on the table out there while blindfolded? Also, I am confident you can see me standing right before you. If I were pulling your leg, you would know."

"Wow, you never stop being irritating! I used the phrase figuratively; I didn't actually mean you were pulling my leg. Like, did you grow up under a rock? And I didn't pay attention to the cost of what they gave me. However, I didn't expect the food to be so expensive."

Jungkook sighed; he was slightly frustrated by Jin's response to him. "Next time, be clear with your words, and we won't have any misunderstandings. While I am unsure if that was meant to be another figurative expression, the answer is no: I was not raised under a rock.

Also, I don't mind if you're not paying attention to the bill; it reinforces the importance of this card. However, I will wait for our conversation to determine the status of our relationship, as it appears to be a requirement for you to accept this card."

"Good evening, my name is Haley, and I will be your server tonight. May I offer you a beverage to start with?" The waitress turned her attention to Jin and politely smiled before shifting her gaze to Jungkook and staring intently at him. "If nothing on the menu appeals to you, please inform me. The staff here are close friends of mine and will be more than happy to prepare any drink or dish that suits your preferences."

Jungkook looked toward Jin, "What would you like to drink?"

"Cinnamon buttered rum," Jin responded as he glanced at his phone.

"He will have a glass of your cinnamon-buttered rum, and I will have a club soda."

The waitress smiled, "Of course, I will start preparing those for you immediately. If you have any additional needs or requests, please remember that my name is Haley, and I am available to provide exceptional service during your dining experience with us tonight."

"Seokjin, look at the menu and select an appetizer for us. I want to inform the server about your choice, as I think you should have something to eat while enjoying your drink." Jungkook's gaze remained fixed on Jin as he spoke.

Jin glanced up from his phone and met Jungkook's gaze, "I am fine with any appetizer. You can choose."

Jungkook was displeased with Jin's response but said nothing and directed his gaze towards the waitress. "Please bring us a delightful assortment of appetizers. We want to begin with the Open Smoked Salmon Sandwich, generously topped with Whipped Goat Cheese, Timbale of Osetra Caviar, Crabmeat, and Avocado. Additionally, we would also like to try the Upside-Down Mushroom Tartlets."

"Great, I will get those orders put in for you. Also, if you require assistance selecting an item from the menu, please do not hesitate to inform me. If you're interested, I can provide recommendations and offer samples." The waitress responded to Jungkook and smiled.

"Seokjin, is there anything specific you want to try or sample?"

"No, I think what you ordered is good enough." Jin finally responded, setting his phone aside and directing his attention towards Jungkook.

"We are good." Jungkook made sure to let the waitress know.

After she left, he redirected his focus toward Jin and said, "I would prefer it if you didn't use your phone while we're having dinner. Please restrict your activities involving it. Once we leave here, you can continue catching up on your social accounts. I think it's important that we utilize this time to engage in meaningful conversation and discuss matters that should hold some priority to us."

"I wasn't on social media accounts, don't make assumptions. Furthermore, what is the point of having a conversation if it will ultimately end in you hurling insults at me? I think I have received enough insults from you today."

"When did I insult you, Seokjin?"

"You-"

"Let's postpone that discussion for a later time. If I unintentionally caused you to feel insulted, I want to clarify that I never intended to do so. Therefore, do not take it personally.

Right now, I would like to discuss our previous conversation where you mentioned that you are not my partner. I am confused by your statement. Could you please provide further explanation regarding your intended meaning and the reasons behind your thoughts?" Jungkook wanted to understand Jin's thought process surrounding their relationship, which was important to him.

Jin chuckled, but before he could respond, the waitress came and placed their drinks on the table.

"I wasn't sure if you wanted ice in your drink, so I brought you an extra glass with some ice. I have also initiated the preparation of your appetizer and will serve it to you as soon as it is ready. Is there anything else I could bring you and your friend?" The waitress smiled sweetly at Jungkook as she asked him.

Jin observed her, noticing how she was looking at Jungkook. "Who are you to assume that he and I are friends?" He asked, feeling quite annoyed by her words and how she looked at Jungkook.

"I apologize sincerely." The waitress admitted, "I shouldn't have made that assumption. I thought you were brothers, but I wasn't 100% sure, so I referred to you as friends instead. I apologize if I have offended you. It wasn't my intention."

"Brothers? Now, I know you know damn well he and I are not brothers-"

"Seokjin-"

"Where is your manager? I am experiencing purposeful insults, which is not the level of service my man is paying for. Is it Jungkook?" Jin asked, glaring in Jungkook's direction.

Jungkook's eyes widened, but he quickly nodded in agreement. "You're right," he said. "It is not."

"I apologize sincerely. I apologize for my rudeness. I want to assure you that I had no bad intentions and did not mean to insult you or your spouse. I will do my utmost to provide excellent service to both of you. I will go and get those appetizers for you." The waitress said, fearing her manager would be called.

"As long as you know, it was rude. Don't go assuming ever again, and also, he is not my husband, so-"

"Not yet." Said Jungkook as he interrupted Jin, then adding, "After all, I only became aware that I am your man today."

Jin groaned, prompting the waitress to seize the moment and walk away.

"Jungkook, I didn't mean to say that."

"There is no need to explain anything, Seokjin. I believe it's important for me to be mindful of the age difference between us and acknowledge that the terminology I am accustomed to may differ from what your generation is familiar with. I have been contemplating the idea of us being partners while you have considered me your man, which I am okay with. I think it's essentially the same thing, just using different terms."

Jin closed his eyes and sank back into his seat.

"I apologize for any delay in understanding this. I will try to familiarize myself with the newer terms your generation uses. I am also pleased that we are making important progress in our relationship. I initially felt unsure about what was happening, but I believe it was meant to be despite Jimin's unforgivable mistake of signing me up for this trip. Don't you think so?"

When Jin didn't respond, Jungkook continued, "I think it has allowed us to spend some quality time alone. I would like us to be purposeful and maximize our time together here. I want to ensure that I don't have any uncertainties about our relationship before returning to Korea.

I have developed strong feelings for you, and I would like to know if you share the same sentiment towards me. I may not always excel at articulating my thoughts effectively, but I am willing to prove my intentions through actions rather than relying solely on words. I promise you won't regret me being your man, as you call it."
