Chapter Twenty-Eight
Jin realized that it was not Jungkook who needed a lid on his mouth, but rather, it was himself. He couldn't believe that he had allowed himself to get so worked up by a foreign waitress that he ended up referring to Jungkook as his man. He regretted his actions, as he had unintentionally led Jungkook to believe their relationship was more serious than it was.
He recognized that it would not be wise to break this news to Jungkook while they were in another country. Therefore, he decided to keep quiet about it and make an effort to enjoy their trip. He was confident there would be plenty to see in Alaska and determined to make the most of it, especially when Jungkook was out and about.
After enjoying their dinner, which he had to admit he really liked, especially the drinks that he had quite a few of, he felt good and could see himself sleeping well.
"Seokjin, could you please take a moment to change into your pajamas and join me back here? I will start the fireplace and request room service to bring us hot chocolates. I suggest we set aside an hour or two to have a meaningful conversation about our relationship." Jungkook spoke before Jin had a chance to enter the bedroom after they had returned from their dinner date.
Jin took a brief pause, inhaling deeply before turning to face Jungkook with a smile. "Of course, Jungkook." As he turned away, he muttered a curse under his breath.

Upon Jin's return to the hotel suite's living room, he was pleasantly surprised to discover a charming indoor picnic arranged by the fireplace, accompanied by soft music playing in the background. His gaze shifted towards Jungkook, who was shirtless and casually placing marshmallows into a bowl.
"You seem to have a strong affection for that bathroom," Jungkook commented while he continued to do what he was doing.
Jin rolled his eyes, ready to reply, but he glanced at the time and realized he had been in the bathroom for over an hour. He hadn't realized he had been in there for such a long time. To him, it felt as if he had only been away for nothing but ten minutes.
"Are we going to make S'mores?" He asked as he sat on the blanket next to one of the pillows on the floor, making himself comfortable.
"Yes, I remembered that it's something you enjoy. As we talk, you are welcome to enjoy some snacks if you want."
Jin smiled, "that's nice of you to remember that, thanks."
"You don't need to express gratitude for that; as your man, it's my responsibility to remember such things." Jungkook moved to sit next to Jin, deliberately positioning himself to face him directly.
Jin was taken aback by Jungkook's choice of words, leaving him unsure how to react. Instead of saying anything, he decided to distract himself by reaching for a mug from the tray. He grabbed a mug filled with hot chocolate, opting to occupy himself by taking a sip.
"How do you like it? Do I need to have them remake it?"
After taking a sip, Jin responded, "It's good. Thank you."
"I don't particularly enjoy these things, but I'm open to giving them a chance since you have an interest in them," Jungkook admitted while picking up the hot chocolate and proceeded to take a sip from it.
"Really?"
"Yes, I prefer coffee, but it's fine; I also want to try to enjoy things you like. It will help me to understand you more."
Jin adjusted his position, aligning himself to face Jungkook directly. However, he found himself momentarily distracted as his gaze unintentionally shifted towards Jungkook's chest. Quickly regaining his composure, Jin refocused his attention on Jungkook's eyes, consciously avoiding any further focus on his body, which was hard for him. The man was attractive, and it made it even harder for him.
"Can I ask you something, and it's a serious question?"
"What's your question, Seokjin?"
Feeling more relaxed after sipping his coffee, Jin asked with a sense of curiosity and comfort, "I'm curious; what is it about me that you like? And why, after all this time, do you continue to like me?"
"That's a great question. Based on your appearance, you are exactly the type of person I am attracted to. Your personality could use some work, but I wouldn't say anyone is perfect, including myself. I believe that is something that can be further developed as you continue to grow. You are also intelligent. It was initially challenging to discern, but after investing time in getting to know you better, I must commend your determination and proactive nature. Your decision to establish a website and start a small business was smart. I appreciate your business-minded approach, which aligns well with my perspective.
The moment I laid eyes on you, I felt compelled to approach and introduce myself, something I had never done before. I have never been the one to initiate any of the relationships I have been in. This experience has been unique and has demanded consistent effort from me, but it is worthwhile because I genuinely envision you by my side. You also have a great relationship with Bam, and since he is part of my family, I prefer having a partner who treats Bam equally or even better than I do. And you fulfill that expectation.
To put it simply, I am attracted to you because of your physical attractiveness, intelligence, and compassionate nature. This list is continuously growing because I discover more things to appreciate about you as our relationship develops. I hope that helps with your question. Let me know if I need to expand further."
Jin paused for a moment to absorb Jungkook's words, trying not to dwell on the slight towards his personality. He pondered whether the man possessed the ability to offer compliments without incorporating insults.
"Okay, thanks for sharing that. I guess if I weren't attractive, I would've gained your attention?"
"Correct, but that wasn't the case for you," Jungkook admitted.
"So what if my appearance changes? Will your attraction toward me also change?"
"No, Seokjin. Initially, I was drawn to you primarily because of your appearance. However, as time has passed, my attraction to you has evolved and is no longer solely based on your looks. Besides your beauty, you have given me additional reasons to be attracted to you. As I mentioned earlier, I admire your intelligence and compassion. Furthermore, your loyalty towards your friends is something I truly admire and hope to earn from you."
"Oh. Well, that's sweet of you to say and admit." Jin responded with a smile.
Him smiling made Jungkook smile, "Does it make you happy when I say nice things to you?"
"I think not only does it make me happy, but it's comforting hearing you speak kind words without any insults. I'm not sure if you're aware, but sometimes, your words can be perceived as harsh and hurtful. It's possible that you may not realize it."
"What have I said to you that is harsh and hurtful? Give me an example?"
Jin sighed, "Earlier, when you offered to give me your black card, you didn't have to say that it comes without limits, unlike my bank account."
"Is that not that true, though?" Jungkook asked, perplexed, "Are you not restricted by the limitations of your bank account? I don't have much information about you, Seokjin, but please correct me if I'm mistaken: you are not wealthy, correct?"
"I am not, but that doesn't mean you must say it. When you offer me something and then make a statement like that, it doesn't make me or anyone else feel good. Jungkook, it's contradictory to express a desire to do something good for someone while simultaneously offending them. Instead of being kind to others, you are causing them hurt."
"So I hurt your feelings earlier when I said that, despite it being based on factual information?"
"Yes, Jungkook, you did."
"Oh, that did not align with my intentions. I apologize. Could you please suggest a better approach I could have taken to offer you my card so that you wouldn't have felt the way you did?"
"Thank you for apologizing. You could have said, "I would like to express that as your partner, I would like to present you with this card, enabling you to purchase anything. There are no limits to the amount you can spend while using it." That is all you needed to say. There was no need to mention my bank account. I am aware that I am not wealthy. I don't require a public reminder." Jin expressed as he stared at Jungkook.
Jungkook remained silent momentarily before nodding and saying, "Okay, I apologize. I will make a conscious effort to improve the way I communicate in the future. I have been informed that I occasionally speak without considering the potential consequences. However, there are instances when it becomes challenging for me to suppress my thoughts, especially when they are truthful. Nevertheless, if my words are causing you emotional distress, which I genuinely do not desire, I should make an effort to exercise restraint in expressing the truth."
"This is not a matter about speaking the truth, but rather about being considerate of others and their feelings. It involves understanding what needs to be said and what doesn't. It wasn't necessary to mention my bank account."
"Okay, I got it. I won't do that again, okay?" Jungkook slowly moved his hand toward Jin, but before he touched him, he asked, "Is it okay if I touch you?"
"It is."
Jungkook smiled warmly as he gently took Jin's hand in his own. "I apologize if I have offended you; it was not my intention. I genuinely desire for our relationship to succeed. In the future, I hope to find a life partner like my brother has. Someone with whom I can build a stable and fulfilling relationship. While I don't believe it is possible, I still want to give it a try, even if it's just an attempt."
"What do you mean you don't think it's possible?"
"My brother and I are different. He is good at a lot of things. I excel in my work; it is the sole area where I have achieved success. I understand that you may have noticed it already, but I haven't been successful in dating you. However, I still want to give it a try. That's all I want. I want to give it a try. Despite knowing that I may fail, I still have the desire to give it a try. I desire to excel in a different area of expertise besides my professional work." Jungkook responded while gazing into the distance.
Jin easily detected the underlying pain in his voice as he spoke, causing a shift in the atmosphere of their conversation. Moving closer to Jungkook, he gently placed his hand on top of his and began to stroke it in a comforting manner. "Who said you are only good at working? I don't think that's true."
"I am Seokjin. I am aware of it. It is a widely known fact. That is the reason I have the company. I am capable of accomplishing tasks efficiently. I can generate income and maintain stability that employs thousands of people."
"I think your talents extend beyond just that, at least in my opinion. You are good at planning dates, selecting gifts, taking care of Bam, cooking, expressing yourself, and even surprising me in the bedroom last night. Your abilities in all these areas are truly impressive, and I am sure you are good at so much more that I am yet to discover." Jin did not like that Jungkook had only seen himself as being good at work.
Despite Jungkook's tendency to annoy him, he also recognized numerous positive qualities in him.
Jungkook didn't respond to Jin; he sat silently without saying anything.
"Are you okay?" Jin asked.
He became concerned; he cleared the space by moving the mugs aside, then adjusted his position to sit on Jungkook's lap. He gently held Jungkook's face, ensuring their eyes were locked. "Why are you suddenly so quiet? I am not used to you being quiet. This is wild because I have prayed for your silence many times, but tonight, I am not liking it. Say something. Did I say something wrong?"
Jungkook wrapped his arms around Jin's waist, and Jin sighed. "You didn't say anything wrong, Seokjin," He reassured him.
"Then why are you so quiet? Are you tired?"
"Does it feel like I am tired, Seokjin?" Jungkook questioned as he pulled Jin closer onto his lap.
As Jin felt Jungkook's erection pressing against his backside, he responded with a smile, "No. No, it does not."
"Seokjin, would you be comfortable with us having sex tonight?"
Jin leaned closer to Jungkook, their lips meeting in a tender kiss. As they pulled apart, Jin softly whispered, "Yes, you don't need to ask me every time."
"Are you sure about that?"
"Mhmm," Jin responded by kissing Jungkook.
