Chapter Twenty
When Jin's best friend told him they needed to talk, Jin was suspicious. He was getting ready for a date with Jungkook, which he didn't think would go well, but after putting it off for a month and saying he was busy, he realized he couldn't put it off any longer. He agreed that they could be friends, but Jungkook's idea of a friend differed greatly from his.
"This better be important. I still can't find the best jeans to go with this shirt."
Taehyung looked him up and down, "I thought this wasn't a date?"
"No, it's not, but I still need to look good. Have you seen what that guy wears? Why would I show up looking homeless next to him? I don't even know where he is taking me; all I know is he said jeans were acceptable."
"You have never looked homeless, so quit pretending as you have. Just say that you want to look your best and please him."
"I do not! Shut up. You are the most annoying person in the world. What do you want to talk about? What's so important that it can't wait until I get home?" Jin crossed his arms and looked at Taehyung as he tried to figure out which pair of jeans in his closet would go best with what he was wearing.
Taehyung sighed as he looked down at the ground, "I have kind of wanted to tell you this since last month, but-"
"Are you going to be living with Jimin?" Jin had already sensed it in his spirit, and he had seen that Taehyung did not spend much time at their apartment, so it did not surprise him that he would be making that decision.
"That's somewhat of what I meant to say, but not quite. You know that I wouldn't just get up and leave you here. I will continue to be accountable for my share of the expenses and the things I promised you."
"You don't need to worry about anything, Taehyung. You should move in with Jimin if that's what you want. Although I still believe it to be too quick, what do I know? Every relationship is different. Jimin does seem a lot different from all the other people I have seen you with, however, so maybe there is a possibility that things may work out."
Jin had seen Taehyung in several relationships, and although none had ever succeeded, he understood that this was often because Taehyung jumped in headfirst without much thinking. When it comes to his prior experiences, he had some comparable flaws, but not because he dove headfirst.
"I seriously hope so because he is also pregnant," Taehyung said after taking a long breath.
"What did you say?" Jin's eyes sprung open in surprise.
"That's kind of what I wanted to talk about with you. We discovered he was expecting a month ago."
"What the hell? Wow. Oh damn. Well, congratulations, I guess." Jin was too stunned to gather his words together.
"I know. It was shocking for us too. However, I am confident that he is someone I want to be with, and we will make it work."
When Jin realized what Taehyung was saying, he nodded in agreement. "If you are confident and this is how you view the next chapter of your life, then I am happy for you. Jimin seems like a really nice man, as I have said. He also has a great deal of patience, which is important for parents. He has previous experience with patience and understanding, so you're all off to a wonderful start.
I hope you also understand the new responsibilities that will come into your life and are equipped to handle them. Have you told your parents the news?"
"No. That's why I wanted to tell you first. Do you think you can come with me when I tell my mom? She will like Jimin, right? What do you think?"
Jin rolled his eyes and said, "Of course, she would like Jimin, and you don't need me there. I'm not necessary. It would be best if you put her in contact with Jimin. She will be relieved to hear that you have found someone to be with who is financially independent and does not depend on you."
"True. Jimin is very independent."
"Good. Well, I am happy for you. So when are you planning on moving out?"
"Umm, well, would this weekend be too quick?"

"You will not be let down by the quality of the cuisine served here. Even though it's not anything like my cooking, it's still a great experience overall. From presentation to taste." After Jungkook had ordered their meal, he expressed his thoughts to Jin on why he had chosen the restaurant he had.
Jin didn't say anything since he had a lot going through his head, particularly after his chat with Taehyung earlier. He had given a great deal of thought to how he would be able to pay the expenses on his own.
Even though Taheyung had promised him that he would pay his half of the bills until the end of their lease, he couldn't let it happen. Taehyung was going to be a dad, moving in with Jimin, who he knew had bills. He could not depend on his best friend to help him when he had so many other things to do.
"I am thankful that today you could spare some time and hang out with me. I was starting to have second thoughts about our relationship and whether or not you were being honest when you spoke about us being friends. Nevertheless, my perception has been significantly altered due to your acceptance of my invitation to join me tonight. I also brought you a token of my appreciation."
Jin looked at Jungkook; he had only heard half of what he had said and gave a small smile. "You didn't have to get me anything."
Jungkook reached over and grabbed a bag sitting next to him before extending it to Jin and said, "please have a look at this."
Jin took the bag and peered inside it, and he was a little taken aback when he spotted an umbrella in there.
"Given that you don't keep up with the weather and are often out walking dogs, I ordered it to prevent you from being drenched in the rain. On the other hand, I hope you'll better check the forecast before you get out of the house. It is a sturdy umbrella that can be easily stowed away in whatever bag you carry.
In addition, you will find a gift voucher inside, good for four sessions of foot massages; given the amount of time you spend on your feet, it is highly recommended that you take advantage of this opportunity. As I've already said, it's nothing huge, but I wanted to do something to express my appreciation."
Jin was caught off guard by the thoughtfulness that had gone into Jungkook's gift. Even though the gifts were not very extravagant, the fact that he had put thought into what he gave made Jin smile. "Thank you. I will use them well."
When Jungkook noticed Jin smiling, he smiled and said, "That's the first time you've smiled tonight. I am pleased that using my abilities was able to accomplish that. I am aware that there have been some difficulties for us as we work on getting to know one another, and as a result, I am making an effort to be cognizant of this fact and to do what I can not to hinder the progress between us. Having said that, I have to ask: how are you doing? You don't look like your usual self tonight."
"I am doing okay, thanks for asking. Have a few things on my mind, but nothing major. How was your day?"
"Even though you may not think of me as a good listener, the fact is that I am quite excellent at listening. If you ever have thoughts that you want to discuss but don't want my opinion on those ideas, you should let me know in advance that you are going to share them, and I will listen to what you have to say...."
Jungkook paused as the waiter came and placed their food on the table. When the waiter left, he resumed their conversation.
"As I was saying before, my day, in general, was fruitful. I am leading the company into uncharted territory, which I needed more support for initially since many of the individuals on the leadership teams are very senior and out of date with their ideas. However, given that I am the executive, it did not matter. It has also been demonstrated that my approach to directing the company has been more promising than theirs.
Therefore, it was a successful outcome and a cause to enjoy the rest of my day. You also accepted my request to join me for dinner on this particular day, which has helped to brighten the day."
"Oh, okay. I appreciate you telling me about the listening, and I'm glad you had a wonderful day."
"You are welcome." Jungkook responded and pulled Jin's Food toward himself, "I will slice up your chicken for you."
"Jungkook, that's not necessary."
"I understand. However, I want to do it."
Jungkook was able to slice up Jin's chicken without him having to utter a word since Jin just let him do it. After Jungkook pushed the dish in his direction, Jin started eating since he was starving and was surprised that his stomach wasn't making noise.
"Because I selected the chicken for you, I don't anticipate any problems, and this establishment prepares its food in a way that is quite hygienic."
Jin listened to Jungkook with his lips tightly shut. He was certain the guy would never let him forget the fabricating illness during their last dinner date.
"I'm thankful, Jungkook. I don't think I'll have any problems after eating this dinner, plus the atmosphere at this place is pleasant."
"It gives me great pleasure to know that you feel that way. If your stomach is in a decent place after the dinner, they offer a variety of desserts you would want to try if you have room."
Jin ate his dinner without saying anything; the food was really tasty, in his opinion. Jungkook had an excellent gift at choosing good food.
"It seems like there's something on the corner of your lips; may I have your permission to remove it?" As he asked Jin the question, Jungkook leaned forward and held the napkin.
Jin used his tongue and licked the corner of his lips while he stared at Jungkook, "did I remove it?"
"Almost, but there is still a bit of smudge there. If you let me, I can get it with the napkin."
Jin leaned toward Jungkook, "okay, you can remove it."
Jungkook was careful as he removed the sauce that had gotten on Jin's cheek from the chicken. "All done."
"Thank you." While maintaining eye contact with Jungkook, Jin said. He couldn't believe the guy was as attractive as he was. When he wasn't talking or saying strange things, it was much simpler for him to take in his nice features and enjoy them.
Jungkook settled back in his chair and looked at Jin, "why are you staring at me like that?"
"I just had a thought."
"What kind of thought?"
"The desserts they have here."
