Chapter One

"Please, Bailey, can you stop already?" Seokjin yells out, almost out of breath, to the dog he was walking. The dog was stubborn and would not let him even take a breath for a moment of relief during their struggle as he tried to keep her close to him.

He was thankful for his part-time job as a dog walker since it allowed him to pay his bills and keep up with his responsibilities. Nevertheless, he did not like it when he had to walk a dog that did not listen to him, and today was one of those days when he had to do so. He was taking Bailey for a stroll, and she often did anything she pleased. She wanted to snarl and pursue anybody who crossed her way. She wasn't a bad dog; she just wanted to have fun and always begged to play.

Jin thinks that the only time Bailey ever became angry was when other people ignored her. Bailey hated being ignored, and Jin could relate to her feelings since he, too, hated being ignored. However, although he and Bailey did have some things in common, there was one thing in particular that they did not have in common: Jin listened whenever he was spoken to, while Bailey did not, and Jin could only blame her owners for this.

He had tried dropping hints that Bailey makes his work extremely difficult whenever he takes her for walks, but they weren't taken seriously. They never listened to him; instead, they doubled his hourly wage, hoping it would be enough to silence him complaining, and they were right. After each new increase, Jin began to complain less and less to them and began to whine more and more to his best friend instead.

Jin had finally succeeded in calming down Bailey, and after such a long distance, he rested his weary body against a tree for some support. He shakes his head as he looks down at Bailey and smiles. "I know I won't have to keep doing this forever since I will eventually graduate from university, work at a reputable company, and leave all these challenges in the past. And you, Bailey, you are going to come to regret the way you handled our relationship. You only have to be patient, and in no time, you will be able to find a dog walker who... NO, BAILEY, STOP!" Jin let out a loud cry as the dog started sprinting. The dog continued running, pulling Jin along with him, and then leaped onto a guy walking down the sidewalk.

The man walking with a cup of coffee fell backward onto the asphalt, causing the coffee to spill all over the ground. Before Jin could go over to Bailey, he saw the dog being shoved off to the side, and then he saw another man bend down to assist the individual who had been knocked to the ground by Bailey.

Jin rushed up to Bailey, who was barking and tugged her closer to him by the leash. Bailey had been howling and fixated on the man while continuously making barking noises.

"Bailey put an end to it!" Jin yelled at the dog as his pulse raced, fearing what would occur. He had never been in such a predicament before; no other dog had ever acted in such an insane manner as Bailey had.

"I am so very terribly sorry." Jin made continuous bows toward the man who stood in front of him. After a while, he glanced up to make eye contact with the man, and then he bowed again as soon as he did so.

"Do you believe that saying you are sorry will make up for what's happened? Why didn't this mongrel have a leash around its neck?" Jin received a growl from the strange man. Because the man's voice sounded frightening, Jin and Bailey took a step backward. It was clear that he was experiencing a lot of frustration because of what happened to him, which Jin could understand.

Jin raised his eyes slowly to the man standing in front of him. As he observed the man before him, he could tell he was someone of importance based on how the man was dressed and how the two men that stood behind him nearly seemed to be security.

"I realize that saying sorry isn't enough, but please accept my heartfelt apology. Bailey, we are sorry, aren't we?" Jin questioned while staring down at the dog with an expression of cautious optimism. Bailey turned her head in the man's direction and growled at him.

Jin also glanced at him and offered a faint grin before saying, "see, she is sorry too."

"Are you making fun of me right now?" The man questioned as he moved closer to Jin, but he stopped when he was summoned by one of the other men with him. "Jungkook, we have somewhere to be."

"I know we have to go somewhere, but do you believe I can get there looking like this, Hoseok? DO YOU?"

"N-no, Sir."

"EXACTLY, so shut it!"

"Yes, Sir."

Jin took a few more steps back, establishing more distance between him and the guy as he heard him yell at the other guy, but he stopped when he turned and stared at him.

"Are you attempting to flee after having your mongrel pound me to the ground?"

"No, I am not; yet, you and Bailey seem to be in great distress. As a result, I am trying to maintain an emotional space between you and Bailey so that she does not repeat what just occurred. Right now, she is very upset, as you can see. By the way, do you have any wounds, and is there anything I can do to help you? I can let Bailey's-"

"That thing is upset? Shouldn't I be the one upset? And what the hell do you mean by emotional space?"

Jin was displeased with how the man had referred to Bailey, "With all due respect, she is not a thing; rather, her name is Bailey, and she is a dog. I know what she did was inappropriate, and I will make a greater effort to instruct her not to behave that way; nonetheless, I cannot let you speak about her like that. If you want me to pay for your coffee or charge me for your suit and any injuries, I can supply you with my contact information so that you may do so, but I would like it if you would stop talking about Bailey as if she were a thing. Both she and I find it to be very offensive."

In between the opening and closing his mouth and gripping his fist, Jungkook snapped. "I see the dog got its behavior from you-"

"Excuse me?" Jin was in disbelief.

"Do not interrupt me! I am the one who was wronged in this scenario, not you, and most definitely not that enormous dog standing next to you. To begin, a person as little as you should not be walking such a large dog since you cannot manage it and instead exerts its power over you. Clearly, the dog is walking you instead of you walking it. People like you shouldn't have a dog of this size; find one your size!

My assistant behind me will ask for your contact information and bill you for any medical expenses, a new suit, and two cups of coffee. Jimin! Get over and gather his information, and then we'll get going." After giving orders, Jungkook goes away toward the car he originally was heading towards before being attacked.

"Yes, Sir." Jimin nods his head in acknowledgment to Jungkook and dashes up to Jin, saying, "If you could jot down your information here, I would be quite grateful."

"What a piece of scum!" Jin let out as he glared in Jungkook's direction. Jimin puts his finger over his own lips as a signal to Jin to cease talking as he knew if his boss heard it, there would be no end.

Jin gave a little headshake. "No, I won't keep quiet about it; he's an asshole for talking about a dog in such a manner, and he has no right to do so. That's not acceptable at all. Bailey is not an overly large dog; rather, s-she is an average-sized dog with above-average intelligence."

Jimin pushed the little notebook toward Jin, saying, "I understand your concerns, but Mr. Jeon is Mr. Jeon; please supply us with your contact information so we may charge you for the relevant damages to Mr. Jeon."

While Jin continued to mutter curses under his breath, he reached for the notebook and started jotting down the information needed.

"I can't thank you enough for being so cooperative. We will get in touch with the bill at some point." Jimin showed gratitude by bending his head as Jin returned the notebook to him.

Jin shakes his head, doubles Bailey's leash, and starts walking with her, saying, "Bailey, if you ever see that guy again, you have my permission to bite him!"

"Sir, given the state of your suit, I made an appointment-"

"What was his name?"

"Huh?"

"That guy, the rude and obnoxious guy with the oversized dog."

"Oh, hmm, let me check my notebook. He gave his word that he would cover any costs that arise. After the damage to your suit has been evaluated, I will take the necessary steps to make payment arrangements for it. Also, would you be interested in going to the emergency room?" Jimin asked as he flipped his notebook open. He hoped he was asking the appropriate questions since his boss was extremely unpredictable, and he was afraid that he would be held responsible somehow if he didn't exhibit the appropriate worries.

Jungkook huffed, "why would I need to go to the emergency room?"

"I wasn't sure, sir, if the dog had-"

"What's his name?"

"Oh, right, it's Kim Seokjin."

"What is he doing with such a big dog?"

"I am not sure-"

"It wasn't a question requiring your answer! He owes me two cups of coffee. Make him bring them to me tomorrow."

"Noted. Also, sir, you have a flight to Canada scheduled for the morning." Jimin said as he tried reminding his boss of his upcoming schedule.

"Your point?"

"Jungkook, Jimin is attempting to explain that given your schedule and the fact that you will be in Canada tomorrow, it is probable that this young man will not be able to bring you the coffee he owes you." Hoseok, who had been silent up until this point, decided to speak up. "When you return to Seoul, the possibility of it happening will increase." He added as he gave a smile to Jungkook.

"Did I hire you to become a translator for Jimin?" Jungkook glared at Hoseok.

"Of course not; it would require you to pay me more," Hoseok muttered, annoyed with Jungkook.

Jimin pressed his lips together and looked out the car's window.

"I want the coffee he owes me tomorrow morning. Jimin, figure it out!"

"Jungkook, you are being ridiculous!" Hoseok yelled.

"Care to lose your job?" Jungkook looked toward Hoseok with a serious glare.

Hoseok shook his head, "no, sir, my sincerest apologies for voicing my thoughts."

Taking his phone out, Hoseok began to text his husband. He needed to calm his thoughts as it wasn't even noon, and Jungkook was already driving him insane.
