Tir'an (Part Seven)
Tir'an waved at Takashi and turned around. Deep down inside, he was still pained with all the sadness but he knew he had to get that under control. He wasn't allowed to let the sadness destroy him. As he was walking through the streets thinking, he suddenly smelled something... No. Someone. He had learned to distinguish the smell of humans and demons and this one here definitely had a demonic fragrance. He stopped walking. It wasn't a familiar scent, so he assumed the demon lingering around here was a stranger. An enemy even, maybe? His hand instinctively found its way to the grip of his dagger. His body strained and his eyes went from one shadow to another. "I can smell you. Reveal yourself!", "For a new-born demon you're pretty sharp." A deep voice replied as someone jumped down from above and landed some meters away from him on the ground. "...But that's so typical for the Jigoku Akuma. So attentive... So careful and always on guard.", "Who are you?" Tir'an asked. "My name is Urgon.", "On who's side are you?" Urgon laughed. "On nobody's side, whitey. I follow my own laws here.", "You're a renegade demon. Do you belong to Oathbreaker?", "Strike into the black." Urgon smiled. "What are you looking for?" Tir'an asked. "I am looking for nothing. I've found it.", "Why were you looking for me?", "Not for you, especially. Ultimately, I was just passing by, but when I saw you talking to that worthless human, it made my eyes bleed.", "Why that?", "Humans and demons belong separated. We're far above them and more worth than they could ever be.", "Don't talk about my father like this.", "I hate you guys." Urgon made a choking sound. "Former humans that now have the blood of a demon running through their veins... It's a shame, really.", "Hearing that from you... does that mean you weren't a human before?", "How right you are. I am actually the son of two high-born demons.", "Children of Lilith, I assume.", "How right you are. Well, they are dead by now... Killed by some Demon Hunters but that's not supposed to bother me. It's rather a shame that most of my aunts and uncles are by your side. They could've fought for something bigger.", "You're a product of incest, dude... That's disgusting.", "Shut up!!" Urgon hissed. Tir'an's hand around his dagger tightened. "Any by the way, it was their choice to follow Lucifer a long time ago.", "Lucifer is a dumb ass. A confidence trickster. And what's even worse, he's a former angel. And he calls himself the Demon King.", "He doesn't!", "I don't care, he's a jackass sitting on a throne he didn't deserve at all!!" Urgon hissed. "I'm not gonna bend to a guy like this and I will obliterate every single one of you false, filthy human-born demons!" Tir'an drew his dagger. "I'll kill you before you have the chance to! I won't let you harm my friends!", "How cute. You wanna defeat me with a dagger? Have fun trying!" Urgon drew a sword. Tir'an growled and charged forward, aiming at Urgon with his weapon. But Urgon blocked with ease, throwing him back. Tir'an dodged some following hits and tried to disarm his foe but his plan backfired. Urgon made a single move and Tir'an's dagger landed on the street with a rattling sound. Urgon tried stabbing Tir'an but he jumped aside and shrank back. "What now, whitey?" Tir'an opened a bag bound around his leg and pulled out a gun. He aimed at Urgon. His enemy smiled. "A gun, huh? I needa say, you're surprising me.", "Say goodbye." Tir'an pulled the trigger and the bullet buzzed through the air, but Urgon stretched out his hand and an energy shield formed in front of him. The bullet hit it ineffectively and landed on the ground. Tir'an fired some more shots at Urgon, but they all showed no effect. "I am a shielder." Urgon said. "You can't harm me with your pitiful bullets at all." Tir'an crunched with his teeth. 'No way... I can't do anything against that guy?! Damn it! If I just had one of my armors right now...!!' Urgon charged forward and Tir'an was busy dodging his strikes. Urgon would have no trouble at all to slice him to pieces. He had to come up with a plan very quickly. "It's turning me on, the way you dance for me." Urgon commented. "Run, run away if you can. Run, run and survive. But I won't let you!" He suddenly rammed his knee right into Tir'an's diaphragm. If he had worn his armor, he wouldn't even have felt that. But now, the pain took him within a second and he wasn't able to breathe. Urgon smiled and his sword left a deep cut right across his torso. Tir'an spat blood and his eyes widened and his mouth was formed to a soundless scream before he went down and landed on his back. Blood colored his white coat scarlet red and poured over the raw asphalt of the street. Urgon licked the blood from his sword. "Your blood is tasty, I needa say... nevertheless, it's dirty." He pointed at Tir'an's throat with the pointed end of his blade. "I could kill you right now, but... I think you'll die anyway so I really don't need to do it after all... Better you die painful while laying in your own blood." He put his sword away. "Good death, whitey!" With these words, Urgon disappeared. Tir'an's breath rattled and his sight blurred again and again. "...What a joke..." he gasped. "...I said I'd protect you, Takashi... but I can't even protect myself... Hah... what a pity..." He coughed and choked on the blood. "So this is it, then... Death..." His eyes fell close without that he was able to do something against it. He fell into darkness.
When his senses returned, he could hear someone talking. "Is he alright?" somebody asked. "He's still a little weak, but I was able to ban his wound.", "Thank goodness, Cannaima.", "...Huh...?" Tir'an opened his eyes. He turned his head and saw Azra, Agurith and Cannaima by his side. "Ah, you're awake!" Cannaima identified. "Welcome back, Tir'an!", "What...?" He braced himself against the bed trying to sit up, put the pain instantly returned into his chest and he surrendered. "Don't move too much." Cannaima remarked. "Your wound isn't completely gone yet. You were lucky that Agurith found you in time.", "Agurith....? You...?" Agurith smiled. "Lucifer had a vision showing him that you'd be attacked and killed by a renegade demon. He informed me and then, Azra and I went off instantly to look for you. I found you when it was almost too late... Your heart was barely beating and I was already panicking that you...", "What's with that Urgon guy...?" Tir'an asked. "I followed his scent." Azra said. "And I made that fucker pay with his blood.", "He's your nephew, more or less...", "Yeah, and? I didn't know him so I don't give a single fuck. All I care about is that you're getting better again." Tir'an smiled faintly. "....Thanks, Az... And thanks, Agu... without you, I wouldn't be here anymore...", "You should thank Lucifer." Agurith replied. "If he didn't inform us, you would've died with a one hundred percent certainty.", "I'll remind that..." The door opened and Satan entered. Tir'an looked at him. "...?", "Hello, Tir'an... I'm glad you're okay now.", "Your concern honors me, Satan..." Satan shook his head. "No need to be so formal." He came closer and Agurith and Azra provided him some space. "This accident was very unfortunate...", "My magic is completely ineffective against shielders... And I didn't wear an armor at all...", "I know." Satan sighed. "This would have ended differently if you had an armor... Or if you were able to break through the opponent's shield.", "But I can't...", "I'm gonna make sure that changes.", "Excuse me...?", "To make sure something like that doesn't happen again, I will give you a spell of mine. Attack Teleport. It will allow you to teleport your weapons and armors mid-battle so you can change equipment and shields won't stop you.", "You're really gonna do that...?", "Sure." Satan nodded. "Thanks a lot, Satan...", "Give me your hand." Tir'an nodded, pulled off his right hand's glove and held his hand out to Satan. Satan took it. "Hereby, I grant you permission to use Attack Teleport on your own." His skin burned slightly and when Satan let go, Tir'an had a black mark on the back of his hand. It looked like a claw with a ring between them. "Thank you, Satan...", "No big deal." Satan smiled and patted Tir'an's head. "Now focus on getting better soon!" Tir'an nodded. "Count on me."
From this day forth, Tir'an always wore an armor for safety reasons because that same mistake wouldn't happen to him twice as long as he could help it...
