Tir'an (Part One)

This is the story of a little boy who was abandoned by his parents, finding a place in Rose Garden Orphanage. Since that day, he looked out of the window and waited for the return of his parents... But they didn't come back... So he kept waiting on and on, day after day...

"C'mon, stop running away from me!!" The little boy tried to catch the black spider with the long legs that desperately tried to find shelter somewhere. He was actually surprised that something so little could run so fast. On the other hand... it had eight legs. Six more than he had himself. And it could run up and down walls. He tried grabbing the spider at the wall and missed it again. "Hey, you're cheating!!" He complained and then tried putting his hand over the spider. "Hah! Got you!" He carefully lifted his hand a little, grabbing the spider by one of its legs. He carefully put it on his hand. Then, he went to the other children that were playing on the floor. "Hey, look what I caught!" He presented his haul to them but at the moment they saw it, they screamed and ran away. In surprise, the little boy looked after them. Their reaction was a mystery to him. "...Why are they running away...?", "White." The boy turned around when he saw the wardress of this place, a woman with hazel eyes and long, black hair that was turning gray at some spots. "Yeah...?", "What are you doing?" she asked. "I caught a cute spider, look!" He showed her the little animal. "I wanted to show the others but for some reason, they all ran away...", "They are scared of spiders, White." the woman explained. "...Scared?" He tilted his head as if he didn't know what that was supposed to mean and then put the spider on the ground again. As fast as possible, it hid underneath a wardrobe. "...what does that mean?", "They don't feel very pleasant when they see spiders." she said. "Oh... I don't really understand why, these little things are harmless, aren't they?", "They are, but sometimes, it just needs a somehow odd appearance to dislike something.", "Huh..." The boy sighed. "Okay..." Then, he sat down in front of the window, like he always did, tightened his legs and put his arms around them. He looked outside and his purple eyes gazed over the rose gardens outside. The roses had so many different colors. Some of them were as red as blood, others pure white like the clouds and again others as black as ink. Some days ago, he had been trying to pick one of them and ended up with a few scratch wounds and stitches because he didn't see the thorns. Now, he just looked outside, viewing at the street behind the fence. It was empty, except of a black car that drove past. It slowed down and parked somewhere in the nearness. The boy observed it curiously as two men stepped out of it. He immediately was a little disappointed. "Huh..."

Some moments later, the door opened with a silent creak sound. The two men who stepped out of the car entered the Rose Garden Orphanage. One of them had pretty messy, honey blonde hair and bright green eyes. The other one had dark blue eyes and raven black hair. The keeper of the orphanage immediately turned to them. "How can I help you?" she asked. "Ah, hello." The black-haired one smiled. "I am Shin Funai and this is my partner, Takashi Funai. We're here to donate you a little money for the well-being of the children.", "How nice of you, Mr. Funai." She smiled. "I am sure the children would be so thankful to you." While the black-haired one followed her into a back room, the other guy looked around. His look stopped on the little boy with the ghostly white hair, the blue jeans and the white t-shirt. He kept staring outside the window while the other children around him were playing and laughing in joy. It was as if he didn't even notice them, as if he was far, far away. He scrutinized the boy but he didn't even look at him. He noticed that that boy was the only one here with this pure white hair. Then, Shin and the woman came out again. "It's no big deal, Mrs. Ito." Shin said. Takashi turned around to her. "Excuse me, Miss. What's wrong with that boy over there?" Mrs. Ito looked at him. "Oh... He's waiting again.", "Waiting..? Whatfor?", "His parents. He's sitting at the window ever since he came in here, and gazes outside, hoping they would come back and pick him up. And when he goes asleep, I never heard or saw him cry. No, he's going to bed while still hoping that they would return one day. But he was dropped here three weeks ago by his parents. He is still waiting for them on and on, every day." Takashi looked at him again and with short hesitation, he went over to the little boy. "...Hey.", "Hmh?" He looked up. "Hello...", "What's your name, little one?", "White." the boy responded. Takashi narrowed his eyes. "White? But that isn't your real name, is it?" The boy shook his head. "No... it's how everybody here calls me.", "So... what's your real name then?", "I don't have one." the little boy answered. "What? Really?" The little boy nodded and then looked into the man's eyes. "What's your name?", "Takashi." The man answered. He was actually surprised this kid wasn't afraid of talking to a stranger. "Takashi, eh? Is it nice to have a name?" The man stared at the boy, speechless. "... Yes..." he then mumbled. "Huh..." Again, the boy looked outside. "You're lucky, then.", "How... how old are you, White? If I may ask that?", "I am six." he answered. Takashi lowered his head. The boy's violet eyes were filled with lone sadness. He seemed to be so very lonely... Somehow, Takashi couldn't bear that. He neither had a name nor a place to stay... And if he remembered that the boy's parents weren't going to ever return and he still waited for them patiently every day, it really made him sad in a weird kind of way. "..." He sat down next to the boy. "...You're still waiting for your parents, huh?" he asked. The boy nodded. "Yes... I am sure that they didn't forget about me.", "Do you know what this place is?" The little boy shook his head. "This is an orphanage. All the kids here... they have no family. Either, both of their parents are dead, or they are not wanted by them anymore.", "What does that mean?", "It means that... no matter how long you will spend your time waiting for your parents, they won't return." The boy looked at him. "... But... I haven't done anything wrong, have I? Why would they drop me here and leave me behind?", "I don't know. They must've had reasons." The boy lowered his head and hid his face in his knees. "...that's so mean..."
