Lucifer (Part One)
This is the story of a young boy who had been born to save the others. However, as he grew up, he learned that the battle line between what he was told to be evil and what he was told to be good, was mere ideology...
She smiled when she saw them playing in the grass. The blonde-haired little boy and the white-haired girl. They were chasing each other through the high grass in Eden, the garden of heaven. "Catch me, catch me!" the blonde-haired boy yelled and the girl chased after him. "No fair!! You're way faster than I am!!" She had to chuckle. "Hey, boy!" she then said. The blonde-haired looked around. "Hmh? What's the matter, Kami-sama?" he asked. "Come to me." she said with a warm voice. The boy looked at the girl and then at Kami. "Okay." He walked towards her and looked up to her with his ocean blue eyes, as innocent as he was from the very first day. "You haven't got a name yet, right?" The green-haired goddess asked. "A... name? What is that?" The little boy asked with huge wondering in his eyes. "A name is something like your identity. You give things and people a name and recognize them by it anytime.", "Like... Kami?", "Right, even tho that isn't my real name. My real name is Crypto.",
"Crypto?",
"Yes, but that shall remain a secret, okay?" She smiled and patted the little boy's head. "So... how do you want to be called?", "Uhm... I don't know..." The little boy said and nervously looked to the ground. "I like the name 'Lucy' quite much...", "Lucy? That's a girl's name." Kami laughed quietly. "A girl's name? Oh, that's sad...", "Hey now, don't worry." Kami squatted down in front of him and smiled towards him. "What about Lucifer?", "Lucifer? Huh... I like it..." The little boy tilted his head. "'Lucifer' means light bearer.' Kami placed a hand on the little boy's cheek. "Or, if you translate it differently, it can also mean 'morning star'.", "Really?", "Yeah. Because... you will be my brightly shining morning star." She gently stroke over his cheek. "You will be the one that will save the others if they lose their way... you'll be the star that guides them towards the right path again.", "But Kami..." Lucifer looked down. "...What if I fall?", "Oh, darling, what if you fly?" Kami put both of her hands on the little angel's shoulders. "I have faith in you, little one. I know you can do it. There's no way you'd fail. I know it because you are my own blood.", "That all sounds so easy, but I am not sure whether I really can do this...", "If you fail, you will try again. When you doubt, you wouldn't even try." Kami put a hand on his head. "Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever could. Everyone can surrender... it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But strength, true strength... It doesn't come from the things we can do... but from overcoming the things we once thought we couldn't." Lucifer looked at her. "...", "If you train hard, I am sure you will become strong enough to be a savior.", "Okay!" Lucifer nodded and an unknown fire flared up in his eyes. "I will the best I can and show you I can do it!", "That's the spirit." Kami smiled and nodded. "By the way... I want you to come with me. I want to show you something special." She held one arm out to the little angel. Lucifer took her hand and Kami went towards her castle with him by her side. The golden gate opened out of itself when Kami approached and let her in. She pushed the wooden door open and went up the stairs until she stopped in front of a door. "But Kami... we were never allowed to go into that room." Lucifer said. "So why now?", "It's not a room, darling." Kami smiled. "And I want you to see it." She let go of his hand and opened the door. It swung open and Kami went through the door frame.

The room had no walls, no ceiling and no floor. She seemed to stand in the pure air. The sky was dark and some round spheres were flying through the wide area. Kami spread her arms wide. "It's pretty, isn't it?" Her hair started to wave as some of these small orbs started to descend around her. They drifted down, seemingly weightless. Lucifer looked at them with huge fascination and nodded. "Yes, it is." Kami held out her hands to catch one. Lucifer did the same and one fluttered into his hands, adorning a soft, white glow. "All of them are so close together. And yet, they don't seem to have any idea that there are so many more like them." Confused, Lucifer looked at the orb in his hands. "I don't get it... how can something so small have any kind of conscious thought?" He stretched out his other hand and as another light-filled sphere softly landed in his palm, he noticed that the patterns of light and dark on each of them were different. Slowly, the realization that he was holding entire worlds in his hands started dawning on him and his eyes widened in surprise. "Are these...?" He could make out huger land masses admidst the oceans, the islands held within the seas. The towering mountains were snow-capped and the desert sands swirled with abandon. The waves played among each other. Kami smiled. "Yes, sweetheart. These are entire worlds." But her face quickly fell back to the world she currently held. "It's only natural that they never stay for long." Just when she said that, the orb in her hand started to darken and it began to disintegrate into dust. The same thing happened to several other worlds levitating around in the air and the dusty remains of what they once were floated gracefully to the darkness above though the space they were standing in was absent of any winds. A startling flash of light blinded Lucifer and forced him to look away, but when he turned back, another small orb had replaced the dark and slowly began to fall. Kami drew back her hands. "Ashes to ashes." she whispered. "Dust to dust..." Lucifer continued her sentence. "But I don't understand. Isn't there anything you can do to stop them from fading away?" A tear fell from Lucifer's eyes. Kami swept her arm out, gesturing to the millions of worlds that were falling. "Everything has its end and from every end, a new beginning arises. Just as you have seen a moment ago. Despite the fact the sky is my domain, I have no control over the lives of these worlds. I'm merely a spectator." With a smile, she turned to the little boy. "Just as you are." Lucifer sent the worlds he was holding back into the sky. "But that's sad... why do things always have to end? Can't anything last forever?", "Forever is a long time, Lucifer." Kami went up to him and again put a hand on his head. "If things would last an eternity, time loses its value. If everything would stay the same, if nothing changed, the world would be a very dark place." She softly patted his head. "These worlds are like dreams. Dreams are lived a long time until they fall apart and are replaced by new ones. I am sure... one day, you will understand."
