Agurith (Part One)

This is the story of a guy who started to become a victim of his own, dark mind while his life started running downhill...

"There! That's the last one!" His father put a big box of cardboard on a pile at the wall. The whole house was almost completely empty, apart from the huge furniture. "The moving truck arrives in about ten minutes, then the rest of the furniture and cartons can be laden onto it . We can get going afterwards.", "Dad?" Seiji was standing in the living room with a backpack over his shoulder. "Where exactly are we going again?", "To Starfell Town." his father replied. "Uh... That is the other end of the country, literally..." the 11-year-old muttered. "Did you learn that in geography?" his father asked. "Not exactly, I saw it on a map." The boy pulled up his shoulders. "Uh... why are we going? It's nice here.", "Your father and I have found new jobs in Starfell where we can earn better money.", "And that's why we have to leave?", "You will understand, one day." His mother ruffled his hair. Seiji grumbled. "Starfell has also the best middle and high school in the country," she continued. "Starfell Academy. It has also made itself a name in other countries. I'm sure this is a school for you, Seiji. With an average of 1. 2 on your last sixth grade school report, you'll be accepted for sure.", "You think so?", "I'm sure." she said. The bell rang. Seiji's father opened the door. Seiji looked around the corner and saw two men at the door. "Glad you could make it!" His father smiled brightly. Seiji wasn't so glad about it. He rather would want to stay here... Here, he knew the neighborhood, the streets, his way to school... And his friends. Texting with them would not be the same as talking to them in person, he knew that... When he moved away, he would end up being a complete stranger to everything and everyone. This thought kind of scared him... He watched his parents and the people from the moving company loading the truck with all the cartons and the furniture before his mother turned around to him. "It's time, Seiji! We're leaving!" Seiji tightened his hand around his backpack strap when she said that. He nodded silently and walked out of the door with a lowered head. Outside, he turned around once again to throw a final look at their old house and the garden. "Bye, house..." he mumbled. His father put a hand on his shoulder. "You'll get used to your new home pretty soon, Seiji. I promise." Seiji looked at him. "...Okay...", "Come." His father patted his shoulder and then went to their car to open the door for his son. Seiji sighed and stepped inside. He fastened the seat belt and put on his headphones. The motor of the car roared when his father started it... and then, they drove away. Seiji stared out of the window and refused to look back again. It made his heart heavy to think of it.

After some hours, they drove down a motorway through a dense forest. His mother had told him that the city to which they would move was situated deep inside of the woods. That was kind of awesome though... When the forest divided, they entered the city. It was everything else but small. Starfell was a modern but beautiful city, something Seiji had not expected. They drove through the streets and came past some narrow alleys, a park and the central plaza of the town. Their destination was a house in the quarter of Faystorm. When Seiji came to see it for the first time, he was disappointed. The house was smaller then the one they lived in before, was boringly white and had a red roof. The garden though was bigger than their old one. Seiji got off the car. "...", "The key is underneath the mat, right?" His mother asked. His father nodded and opened the gate to go to the front door. He lifted the mat a little and revealed some silver keys. He picked them up and unlocked the door. That was when the truck of the moving company stopped in front of the door. "Seiji, wanna go and explore the house?" his father asked. Seiji nodded. "Great, you can tell us what you've found then, alright? You're our guide then. We're helping these nice people with the cartons meanwhile." That actually made the young boy smile. "Okay, dad!" He nodded and went inside the house. The stairs up where right next to the door. The hallways were pretty wide and he discovered the kitchen at its end and the giant living room to the left. Seiji went upstairs and found the bathroom and three dorms. Three? Well, whatever... He looked in one of these. It was a tiny but comfortable one. The walls were painted white but the floor was laid out with wooden laminate. He peeked into the other rooms too. The bathroom was actually the only one with tiles, the other dorms had the same kind of floor but were way bigger. He internally hoped he would get the first ones, the other rooms were too big in his opinion.
After his parents had put the last carton somewhere in the house, Seiji showed them around in the house. He was indeed allowed to keep the room he wanted and that was some kind of comfort for leaving their old house behind.

Some days after they had built up their furniture and unpacked all the cartons, Seiji still didn't feel quite home. He had all of his old stuff in this room... his bed, his desk, his chair, his cupboard, his wardrobe and all the other stuff, but it still didn't really feel like home. His mother had meanwhile sent an application for her son to his eventual future school- Starfell Academy. He would have to wait for a response. Some days later, exactly that came. A letter which happily proclaimed he had been accepted. At the end of the summer vacation, Seiji would attend a new school. His first year in middle school. He hoped it would not be a total catastrophe...

On his first day, his parents drove him to school and accompanied him to the secretary. Mrs. Aston seemed to be very kind and friendly when she handed him over his timetable, told him the number of his class, 7-C, and gave him the key of his locker. Before he came to enter the classroom, his parents wished him good luck and a lot of fun and then left. Seiji was very nervous. He was a seven-grader now and he was hella anxious. Behind this door where so many new people, people he actually didn't know at all. He shyly knocked at the door and heard a voice from the inside asking him in. He slowly opened the door. The students in the class looked at him. The teacher was already there and greeted him. The only thing that comforted Seiji was that none of these students knew the other- at least a great part of them. He looked around and then took a seat next to a white-haired guy with violet eyes. He just hoped he wouldn't start talking... but his entire hopes were destroyed just as his thoughts had appeared in his head. "Hello." the white-haired said. "My name is Hirato! And who are you?" Seiji pulled up his shoulders. "S-Seiji.", "Nice to meet you! Hey, you don't need to be shy! I won't bite you!" That white-haired guy seemed to be pretty friendly. "S-same." Seiji replied. "Pleased to... actually meet you.... Hirato-kun...", "Hey, I told you not to be scared of me!" Hirato grinned brightly. "S-sorry... I just moved here at the beginning of summer vacation so... everything is still new to me...", "You moved here? From where?", "Aroonshire.", "Uh... that's... far away, isn't it?" Seiji nodded. "And you? Where do... you come from?", "Oh, I actually live half an hour away from this place with my adoptive parents!", "Adoptive... parents? That means you're not with your real parents?", "Uh-uh. I was brought to an orphanage in... uh... I guess it was the quarter of Lostvein, when I was six years old. I was adopted a year later. I like my parents, they really are like real parents to me, so..." Hirato smiled. "...nothing to complain about!" Hirato's openness made Seiji feel at least a little comfortable. He saw this as his chance to actually get his first friend.
When the school bell rang, the teacher introduced himself and then demanded the students to do the same. The students said their names and their hobbies, somewhat a short-introduction. Hirato got up before Seiji did. "My name is Hirato Funai and my hobbies are reading and playing table tennis with my father!" He sat down again. Seiji took a deep breath before he got up. "Uh... I'm Seiji Aoi and my hobbies are... uhm... Well... I... like listening to music quite much and... yeah..." He trembled slightly. Then, he heard some close students whisper. "Is he a guy or a girl...?", "He's a guy." the other one replied. "For real? Looks like a girl to me. Does he have balls?", "I dunno..." Seiji turned red and sat down quickly again. He looked at his table in embarrassment. It was true, his face actually had some female features and the long strands of hair surrounding it didn't make it any better. "Anything wrong?" Hirato asked. Seiji shook his head. "No... I'm fine..."
At that point, he didn't know the nightmare had already started to dawn...
