38⚡ World without the Titans...

Death leaves a heart ache no one can heal and loves leaves a memory no one can steal...

(A/n: Mark the difference between Taehyung and Taehyun. Also Hyunengkai is addressed as Kai sometimes)

Jungkook's aim was disrupted as Hueningkai pointed a gun at him from close range. Gritting his teeth, the gangster slowly lowered himself, glaring at the younger officer with hostility. Hueningkai's expression remained stoic, unwavering in his resolve.

Without warning, Jungkook lunged at him, trying to snatch the gun. But before he could, Taehyun fired a shot, hitting Jungkook's arm. A sharp grunt of pain escaped Jungkook as his punch veered off course, smashing into a car window. Shards of glass embedded themselves into his fist, the jagged edges tearing his skin.

Through the sting of his injuries, Jungkook glanced toward the chaos and saw his sister, Sri, holding Soobin at gunpoint. The Titans had the upper hand for now, but the situation was fragile. Gritting his teeth, Jungkook swept his leg under Hueningkai's feet, knocking him to the ground. With a swift, practiced movement, he snatched the officer's gun and fired at Taehyun, hitting him in the same spot where he'd been shot earlier. Taehyun dropped his weapon as the pain overtook him.

Jungkook didn't stop there. He emptied the entire chamber, firing at every visible threat. Bullets shattered windows, sending shards and dust into the air. The sound of metal ricocheting echoed until the gun clicked, signaling it was empty. Hueningkai cursed under his breath and charged at Jungkook, tackling him to the ground.

The two wrestled in the dirt. Hueningkai landed a punch on Jungkook's cheek, but Jungkook retaliated by flipping him over his shoulder. The officer groaned as his spine hit the hard ground. Staggering to his feet, Hueningkai attempted to slam into Jungkook, but the gangster spun around and smashed the officer's head into a nearby car. The sickening thud was followed by a sharp ringing in Hueningkai's ears as blood streamed from his nose.

Jungkook caught a glimpse of something in the distance—Taehyung, embracing Sri. His heart sank. What the hell was he doing here? Jungkook hadn't expected him to show up, and now everything was bound to spiral out of control. He needed to deal with these officers quickly if he was going to help his sister.

Beomgyu, still unscathed, seized the opportunity. With a burst of speed, he slammed Jungkook into a car and delivered a powerful punch to his stomach. Jungkook doubled over, blood spilling from his mouth, but he didn't let his guard down. Summoning the last of his strength, he kicked Beomgyu squarely in the chest, sending him flying in the opposite direction.

Panting, Jungkook leaned back against the car for support. His hand throbbed, blood soaking through his clothes, but he wiped his face with the back of his palm, smearing a mix of blood and sweat.

Then he heard it—a gunshot. His head snapped toward the sound, and horror dawned on him as he saw the scene unfold.

"No..." he whispered, breathless, watching as Sri staggered backward.

Beomgyu charged at him again, but this time Jungkook's intent was different. Fueled by rage and desperation, he used the car window to propel himself into the air. His elbow came down with brutal force on Beomgyu's head, knocking the officer out cold.

Jungkook swayed, barely able to stand. He gripped the side of a police vehicle for balance, his mind racing. Then he saw it—Taehyung calling Sri by her real name, the look of fear and regret etched across his face.

The Titan underboss's blood ran cold as he saw his sister stumble, clutch her abdomen, and then disappear into the water below.

"Fuck!" Jungkook cursed under his breath. His backup was still too far away—the Titan base wasn't close enough to reach the bridge in time. With no other option, he ran toward the river, leaping into the water from the opposite end, hoping to avoid being spotted.

The icy water enveloped him instantly, but all Jungkook could think about was Sri. He spotted a faint streak of red trailing in the current—her blood. She was drifting farther away, and he knew he wouldn't be able to reach her in time by swimming.

Gasping for air, Jungkook spotted a man on a motorbike cruising along the road parallel to the river. Without hesitation, Jungkook swam to shore, climbed up, and ambushed the rider. With a swift blow, he knocked the man unconscious and threw him into the river. The man wouldn't live to tell the police anything.

Jungkook swung onto the bike and sped alongside the river, his eyes locked on Sri's form as the current carried her downstream. He pushed the bike to its limit, tires skidding as he braked ahead of her. With a desperate leap, he dove back into the water. The current fought against him, but he managed to grab hold of Sri and drag her to the shore.

They slumped against the massive trunk of a tree, gasping for breath. Jungkook tapped her cheek with trembling hands, his heart pounding in his chest. "Hey, Noona... Open your eyes," he pleaded, his voice shaky with fear. Water dripped from his hair onto her pale face, mixing with the blood on her skin.

He pressed his fingers to her neck, relief flooding him when he felt the faintest pulse. But it was weak—too weak. The police were still out there, and he knew he couldn't risk taking her to a hospital.

"Come on, Sri... Stay with me," he whispered, panic creeping into his voice as he tried to keep her conscious. His hands hovered over her, unsure of what to do next.

He tore his t-shirt, using the fabric to wrap around her injured stomach. As he applied pressure, he kept trying to bring her back to consciousness, and, miraculously, it worked.

Sri coughed violently, expelling water from her lungs as her eyelids fluttered open. The blurry outline of her brother's worried face came into focus, and the sound of his voice pierced through the haze. "Jungkook..." she whispered, her voice barely audible, like a fragile thread in the storm of her pain. The raven-haired boy leaned in closer, desperate to catch every word.

"I am tired... I want peace," she breathed out, each syllable laced with anguish.

"Stop it!" Jungkook's voice cracked, his eyes overflowing with tears that reflected the turmoil in his heart. Sri was everything to him; his reason for living. "What will I do without you? You will get well soon. Titans need you. I need you. You are my everything, Noona!" His sobs filled the air, a desperate plea that echoed the depths of his despair.

Sri felt her chest tighten at his words, but there was no time for her to console him. She needed to say what was in her heart, to leave him with something that would anchor him in the storm ahead. "You are the best Leader of Titans," she said, her voice steady despite her weakness. Jungkook's eyes widened at her proclamation, a mixture of disbelief and hope flaring within them. "Make Mr. Jeon and me proud."

"I can't. I am not worthy," he murmured, his gaze dropping to the ground as if the weight of his self-doubt pulled him down.

"You are the most worthy," she insisted, her grip tightening around his hand, a fragile lifeline amidst the chaos. "Don't commit the mistakes I made. I was never as strong as I pretended to be. I felt pain and sadness that a gangster should never have felt. I'm sorry... I could have been better."

"Stop it, Noona! No one can match your level. You are the most feared woman in the world. The underworld moves on your command," he replied, desperation lacing his voice.

"Not anymore..." she whispered, her breath growing shallower. "You are the new King of Titans." She squeezed his palm, a gesture of assurance that felt like an ember of warmth amidst the cold dread surrounding them. "Don't worry, you will always have me by your side."

Jungkook held her hands tightly, tears cascading down his cheeks as he succumbed to helplessness. In that moment, he felt a tidal wave of sorrow wash over him, threatening to drown him in its depths. How could he go on without her? She was his anchor, his guiding light in the darkest of times.

But as her grip slowly slackened, he understood. He had to carry her legacy, to rise as the leader she believed he could be. Even if it tore him apart, he would fight to honor her memory, to be the King she envisioned.

"The world has been released from the clutches of the Titans! Their leader, S, is dead. Park Jimin and other Titan gangsters have been arrested. However, Jungkook has not yet been traced. The search is ongoing, and the police assure us they will catch him soon," the reporter announced on the television. The camera panned to joyful crowds across the country, faces alight with relief and happiness. Children played freely outside their homes, couples strolled hand-in-hand, and the streets of South Korea buzzed with a sense of renewed hope.

"Commissioner Jae has been expelled from his job and arrested for siding with the Titans. Let's speak with the Chief Inspector of the Seoul Police Crime Unit, Jung Hoseok," the reporter continued, handing him the microphone.

"It was a long-term mission," Hoseok said. "The police have been pursuing the Titans for years. It was a hard-fought battle, but we finally accomplished our goal. I hope the world will become a better place to live." His words were filled with a mix of pride and relief.

"And how can you assure us that S is dead?" the reporter pressed, a skeptical edge in her tone.

"Indeed, we haven't recovered her body, but we did find her jacket," he explained. "Given that she was shot four times, it is nearly impossible for anyone to survive such injuries."

"What do you have to say about Jungkook?" the reporter asked, shifting the focus.

"The officers reported that he was shot and injured. I doubt he can go much farther, but we are making every effort to trace him as soon as possible. For now, everyone is safe from the clutches of the Titans," Hoseok concluded before stepping away from the camera, returning to  his office.

"Moving on to the next—" Seokjin abruptly switched off the television, a heavy sigh escaping his lips. While the nation celebrated, his heart felt heavy for his brother. He had brought Taehyung back to his flat after the incident, fearing that if left alone, he might spiral into darkness and do something reckless.

Taehyung was still reeling from the past. The image of Sri dying before his eyes haunted him, a relentless specter of guilt that tightened around his chest like a vice. He felt an intense hatred boiling within him—hatred for his brother, for Yoongi, for the police, but most acutely, for himself. If only he hadn't approached her that day... if only he had stayed away, she might still be alive.

He stared at his empty palm, the memory of their first encounter flooding back. He had hated her fiercely when she killed Bryon. He had longed to escape the Titans, but now that he was free, happiness felt like a distant dream. He would have willingly remained confined for the rest of his life if it meant living alongside Sri. Her rare smile lingered in his mind, her authoritative gaze etched into his memory. He couldn't shake the feeling of her soft lips against his, nor could he forget how she had become the most precious thing in his life. The bracelet he had salvaged from the ruins of the mansion hung on his wrist—a bittersweet reminder of their tragic love.

A single tear fell onto his palm, followed by another, and then yet another, each drop a testament to his heartbreak. Everything was over—no Sri, no Titans, no confinement. The only thing that remained was the weight of his undying love.

"Taehyungie?? Dinner is ready," Jin knocked softly on his door.

Quickly, Taehyung wiped away his tears, fighting to compose himself. He hummed a quiet response, forcing a semblance of normalcy. Drawing the curtain aside, he stepped out of his room, the faint tinkling of the bracelet echoing in the silence for a few lingering seconds after the doctor closed the door behind him.

Heyaaaa chimes!! Today I attack you with sexy morning Tae. The chapter was sad hope this will change your mood.
