The Doctor, leaning on the console,  was still thinking of a place to take Jack and Rose. The doctor was never one for thinking about that sort of thing, it sort of just came to him, but this time was different. It wasn't just Rose and himself anymore he used to take rose to all these amazing places trying to 'woo' her. The Doctor liked rose, and rose liked him but the doctor had never indicated this to her so she stayed silent even though she was now single after breaking up with Mickey before she left, she didn't want to stop traveling the universe with the man she loved.

"Doctor where are we going?"Asked Rose with a sigh, she was growing impatient with the Time Lord.

"I'VE GOT IT!" Shouted the doctor.

Jack and Rose both jumped out of their skins. The doctor started pulling leavers, flipping switches and pressing buttons, and on occasion hitting a vital piece of equipment... With a malet.

The Tardis started moving, shaking and and making that unique whezzing and groaning sound. About 2 minutes later the TARDIS stopped and everything was silent, apart from the laughter coming from the 3 inhabitants.

"You alright?... Rose?... Jack?"

     "Yep I'm fine, that was some ride" said Rose

"Yeah I'm good, I forgot how bumby this thing was" said Jack

The doctor shot up and grabbed his coat put it on and went over to the door and stood in front with his back to the door, with a huge grin on his face.

"Welcome to Populas"

He opened the door and Rose and Jack stepped outside.

"We'll be back soon" said the doctor to the TARDIS

"Well?" Asked the Doctor 
  " I'm... I... OH MY GOD" stammered Rose

"Wow!" said Jack

"Populas, one of the most beautiful and secret planets in the universe. Not many people know of its existence. That building over there across the water, is a resort... And yes there's an open bar." said the Doctor, sounding like a travel brochure.

"OMG are those...?" asked Rose

"Mermaids? Yes they are" said the doctor

"Awesome! Now before we take one more step, is this place dangerous. If I go for a swim am I gonna get eaten by a huge fish, or by a carnivorous plant in the forest" Asked Rose

"Yeah doc is it safe?" asked Jack with one eyebrow cocked

"YEEEEEES this place is 100% safe... Well 95%....ok minimum 75%"

Rose stared at him for about five seconds with an annoyed look on her face.

"wait here"

   "Where are you going ? " Asked the doctor

"To get some things, ill be back in five."

Five minutes later Rose walked out with her back pack (the one she used in primary school) and off they went.

They walked in the reception and the Doctor stumbled and winced in pain, something was off but he couldn't quite place it. Time Lords are telepathic you see, so he picked on something that wasn't quite right, kind of like a gut feeling.

Rose looked back at the Doctor who was leaning against the wall of the doorway like he was stopping himself  falling over.

"You alright" asked Rose

      "Fine yeah"

"Hello and welcome to the Harmony resort, what can i do for you today?"

"Hello, 2 joining rooms please, a single room and a twin room, thank you" said Jack to the receptionist who looked human but she had teal scales on her legs and neck, her ears were elongated.

  "She's a mermaid, like the ones outside" the Doctor whispered next to Rose's ear. Rose gasped she just met a mermaid, a real live mermaid. She'd always wanted to meet one, BE ONE, ever since she was a kid, she loved the ocean.

" Sorry we only have one twin room available" said the receptionist

      "One moment please" said Jack who then walked over to Rose and Doctor "okay there's only one twin room available"

"Take it I only sleep a few hours anyway, ill take the floor" said the Doctor. Rose wasn't listening she was looking out the window which was under water, she was looking at the mermaids and one waved at her and she waved back. She was like a giddy child at the aquarium.

Jack walked back over the receptionist  "We'll take the twin room"

"Okay have seat it will be ready in about five tecs, feel free to enjoy the facilities "

Jack walked over and sat at the table with Doctor who looked a little pale. "Doctor how long is a Tec?" asked Jack. " One Tec is equal to one minute, why?" Explained the Doctor.

"Oh then our room will be ready in five minutes" said Jack.
