\/AU where Thad was around in season 1 when Eobard replaced Harrison Wells...  Thad going along with the facade being around 10-11. Growing up at Thaddeus Wells.\

Everyone knew about Thaddeus.. Or Thad as Cisco started calling him the boy that was jealous of the attention given to others at Star Labs. Snapping at them, demonstrating bratty behavior when his father wasn't watching. Trying to put himself or work on the projects before and after the Particle Accelerator Explosion..  He hated Barry Allen the moment he woke up from the coma, as Doctor Wells became a mentor toward him.

Lashing out at the man kicking him in the leg when his father was away.. Part of her on the inside thought it was funny seeing how much it heart Barry. Barry tried to figure out why buying Thad a hot chocolate... That ended with it being thrown in Barry's face before he could react.

It was normal for a child to want attention but it wasn't to have him around them around a vigilante base. Cisco tried to distract him by leaving him alone with a computer filled with games, and movies he decided were essential. Thad somehow got through dozens of them within a week. He tried explaining, stating  he was just like Barry once but that ended when his father just looked at him. Like he was afraid to continue speaking. They dropped him off at a few places, but half the time he either rushed back to the facility or where the new threats where.

Catlin tried speaking to him while the others were focused on Barry's speed.. Thad stopped what he was working on the minute she was there. It wasn't like they were that close, like he saw her as a maternal figure or family but she tried to be someone he could talk to. He always observed her tending to Barry's injuries or flipped through the medical information.  Asking her to quiz him about facts.

"I know it's easy to want to be in someone else's place, to hate how they have something you don't." Catlin knew Thad grew up with only one parent, and to have that one focused on their work only made it easier to sympathize.. But as she spoke it made Thad let out all that he bottled up.

"It's everything Barry's getting instead of me! I always get left behind, I'm always told to be seen not heard. You always cover my eyes or my ears when it's something I can't witness. Cisco thinks I can be easily distracted. My father would whisper things in Barry's while he was unconscious bur he never tucked me in.. When Barry's been knocked down, my father tells him to get back up. But with me, he does it himself and leaves me alone! I don't want to just play old video games! I don't want to go on ride-alongs with Joe or be babysat by Iris! I want to be wanted, I want to be faster. I don't want to go to school or patronized. " As he confessed,  shocking her his eyes glowed. 

That's when Thad stopped himself , when he knew he messed up.. He couldn't rush out, he couldn't force her not to say anything but he could make her manipulate her.

"Don't tell them... Don't tell my father if he finds out.. If he knows I was weak, just letting it out.. I don't know.  I don't wanna know " Thad stared at her, even unsure himself what was real or what he made up to take advantage. 

"Of course..." Catlin responded a little conflicted.  He may have planted reasons for her to not trust her father but at the say time gave someone a reason to protect him..
