The abiding sadness constantly looming over me,

luring me into its cave,

sending me into a downward spiral.

Never ending.

Suffocating me.

The feeling of sheer loneliness

engulfing me in its harsh embrace.

Alone.

I was alone.

Despite the many people around me.

And the fact I wasn't even by myself...

I still most definitely felt

alone.
