Maria paced back and forth, back and forth. She had no idea how to break the news to Robin. Or Benjamin for that matter... Or anyone! The hedge maze was the only place she could think straight.

Thoughts shot back and forth in her head. Should she tell Robin first? What about Miss Heliotrope? She might want to know first. But Loveday and Benjamin might be hurt if they didn't find out first. Her turmoil turned to tears, emotions getting the better of her.

That was how Robin found her, sitting on the ground sobbing. "Maria, what's wrong? Please don't cry. I don't know what to do. Please stop crying. Maria, whatever it is we can find a way through it. I love you. Nothing can change that." He sat there stroking her hair, until she sat up, still sniffling. "What is it, dear?"

"I'm... pregnant..." Robin couldn't help the huge smile on his face, but Maria started crying again. She moved right next to Robin and leaned on his shoulder. "I have no idea why I'm crying. I just can't stop."

"That's amazing! I get to be a dad. You'll be a mother. Aren't you excited?"

"But you said that you were scared of being a dad, you said you wouldn't be able to care for a child."

Robin was silent for a moment before answering. "I know I said that, but it's a  little different when I actually will have a child. I can't describe the joy inside of me. Knowing that I have had a part in the creation of a child that will be so beautiful is the greatest knowledge that I have ever received. The happiness I feel right now is indescribable. You are the most amazing wife, and I could never be mad at you for something so amazing. Honey, look at me." His voice got quieter as she tilted her chin up to look at him. "I love you. Nothing can change that. No one can take it away. Don't cry."

The couple stayed in the garden for awhile longer, arms wrapped in a comforting embrace, drawing strength from each other.

Benjamin, Loveday, and Miss Heliotrope were seated at one end of the breakfast table, talking in hushed tones. They fell silent when Robin and Maria entered together.

Maria took a deep breath before saying, "We have something to tell you... I'm pregnant."

Loveday let out a slight chuckle. "We already know. I was walking through hedge maze yesterday when I heard you two. Sorry to spoil the surprise."

Benjamin cleared his throat. "We have something to tell you as well. We will be giving you a plot of land by the woods where we will have a house built. It will be close to both families, but you will be able to have privacy with the baby on the way, although it probably won't be finished until after the child arrives."

"Oh, thank you, Uncle Benjamin!" Maria threw her arms around his neck.

"Hush, child, William is sleeping in the next room," Miss Heliotrope cut in. Maria didn't mind the reprimand, though. How could she? She was the happiest she had been in her life. Loved by those around her, and a baby on the way. Maria was overwhelmed by happiness.

Hey, my peoples! I'm so sorry it's taken sooooo long to update. Last August, while I was in Nicaragua, my iPod broke, and I didn't know my password. I got a new iPod for Christmas, and remembered my password not soon after that, but things became crazy with the end of the first semester, and I kept forgetting to update. I was finally able to update today because I rolled my ankle in gym, so I couldn't go to basketball or cheer practice today. I hate not being able to run around and be active, but whatever. Hopefully it's not too bad tomorrow. This chapter is dedicated to @NarutoBaka for her comment that just kinda stuck out to me for being sweet. Anyway, after  this, there will be one more chapter and the epilogue. Hope you enjoyed!
