The garden was filled with rows of chairs, each filled with Merryweathers, de Noirs, and villagers. Robin was on a makeshift stage, standing next to the parson. His normally unruly hair was combed into submission, but his bowler hat was still adorning his head. The black suit made him look a few years older than his current age of eighteen.

The door of the house opened and everyone stood. Maria was a vision, her auburn curls slightly hidden under a thin veil, the lacy pattern of her dress accenting the curves she had developed over the past few years, and the bouquet of flowers in her hands brining out the natural blush in her cheeks. She simply took Robin's breath away.

Maria stood opposite Robin on the stage, hands joined with his. Staring into his dark, beautiful eyes, heedless of the parson's words, Maria felt her heart fill with joy. Her heart felt as if it would burst from happiness. Loveday was pregnant, Digweed was courting Miss Heliotrope, and she was marrying the man she loved.

Subconsciously, both Robin and Maria said "I do" before he lifted her veil.

"You may kiss the bride."

Maria slowly closed her eyes, letting Robin close the distance between them. His lips were soft and tasted of apple pie. Maria smiled a bit, and Robin broke the kiss and embraced his wife. How good it sounded to him! His wife! She was forever his, and he was forever hers. No other thought in the world brought him this joy.

This time, Maria closed the distance and kissed him. After a few more kisses, the wedding guests decided it would be best to retire to the dining room for dinner. Marmaduke had truly outdone himself. There were dishes full of potatoes, chicken, pork, rice, and meatballs. Bowls of wedding soup adorned each table, and a four tier cake was placed at a table in the front of the room. Each guest was drawn into a food fantasy by all the delicious smells.

By the time everyone had eaten their fill of the main courses, it was well past midnight. Marmaduke gave Maria a cake knife. She delicately cut a piece and tidily fed Robin, but he was not so courteous. The cake he shoved in Maria's face smeared all over, causing ripples of laughter in the crowd.

She retaliated by saying, "This is so delicious! Why don't you try some?" With that, she kissed him, effectively smearing icing on his face. The guests now roared with laughter. Benjamin decided to disperse them to let the happy couple have some time alone.
