"Bonjour, Monsieur Agni!"
The Indian butler seemed shocked to see me as I stood in the kitchen, covered in flour and pulling a tray out of the oven.
It had been two days since my encounter with Monsieur Revenant, and in that time I had made it my goal to get well again and make both my Indian benefactors a propper French breakfast.
Agni just stared in astonishment at the six soufflé dishes as I rested them on the counter to cool, all the while hoping they wouldn't collapse.
"M-Miss Pascal, you should be in bed still!" He finally stumbled out.
I let out a laugh and reached up to pinch his cheek. "But I am better, mon cher! Look, see?"
I grinned and twirled on one foot, sending the flour on my long skirt and blouse billowing into the air.
I stopped to cough and wave my arm, trying to dissipate the white cloud.
A warm hand caught my wrist and I looked up to Agni's handsomely solemn expression.
His eyes searched my face for a few seconds before he sighed and released me. "There is no stopping you, is there?"
I smiled. "Non! Now, please inform mon prince that breakfast is ready!"

"I have been reading in Monsieur Ciel's library and I am afraid there are a few words I do not understand."
Basha was sitting atop the kitchen counter in the Phantomhive townhouse, a large book in her hands while Agni prepared lunch a few feet away.
The Indian butler smiled kindly as he chopped up some chicken for the curry he was creating. "I have known English for a long time, so perhaps I may be of assistance?"
Basha hummed and scooted closer to the man, holding out the book she was reading for him to see and pointing out the word she was having trouble with.
"Exorcism." The Indian man read, then furrowed his brows and glanced at the cover of the book. "Miss Pascal, do you know that you are reading a Catholic bible?"
Basha pursed her lips in thought. "Is that what it is? I was wondering why the story was so complicated..."
Setting the book aside, Basha rested her chin in her hand and turned to look at Agni, a not-so-innocent smile on her face. "Tell me about Monsieur Revenant- I mean, Mister Sebastian."
Agni smiled as he went back to cutting up ingredients. "Mister Sebastian is a very good butler. He is strict when he needs to be and takes good care of Master Ciel. I was... pulled away from my prince for a while not too terribly long ago and Mister Sebastian stepped in to look after him in my absence. He is a good cook and a quick study, and a dear friend."
Basha narrowed her eyes, her smile fading. "Anything else? Anything unusual?"
Agni paused as he thought back. "Mister Sebastian is an excellent fighter. Sometimes it's almost strange how well he can fight."
That caught the magician's attention and she leaned forward. "Really? How so?"
Agni let out a hum, setting his knife down and raising his bandaged right hand- the one he had stabbed Abraham with. "This hand was blessed by the Hindu goddess Kali. With her power I can defeat nearly anyone I fight, except for Mister Sebastian. He is the only one who has ever fought me and ended it in a draw."
Basha frowned. "I see." So he is powerful...
"May I ask why you wish to know so much about Mister Sebastian?" The Indian butler questioned calmly, going back to chopping up ingredients.
Basha hummed, replacing her frown with a cheerful smile and kicking her legs in the air childishly. "No reason! I guess I've just taken a fancy to him! He is handsome, no?"
Agni's eyes widened at that and his knife shifted, slicing deeply into his left thumb.
The butler yelped in pain, making Basha jump in surprise at the sudden sound.
Hopping from her perch, Basha grabbed Agni's hand in hers and her palms began to glow white.
The Indian butler's eyes widened at the sight and he pulled his injured hand away immediately.
"Please, do not worsen your condition for me, Miss Pascal." He pleaded, then turned to the sink and ran his deeply bleeding finger through the water.
The magician pouted and- without warning- grabbed his hand again, digging her thumb into his injury. Agni yelped again.
"It is nearly to the bone." Basha stated as her hands began to glow again. "Had your finger been cut off it would be a different matter, but this is nothing."
A warm, comforting feeling spread through Agni's hand and when Basha released him he was no longer injured. There wasn't even a scar.
"I can manipulate the physical." The magician stated, coughing into her hand. "Mon frère aîné- my older brother- had a much better mastery over reality."
Agni's previously pained eyes softened at that. "You have a brother?"
Basha paused for a moment, not really realizing why she had decided to share. "In a way... But not necessarily anymore. You know him, actually."
The Indian butler furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"It's-"
Basha was cut off as the door to the kitchen opened, revealing the bulky golem she had created, alerted by the sounds of pain. The magician's eyes softened and she smiled lightly.
"Abraham."
