(Reader POV)
Alright. Today's the day.
Deep breaths. In, out. In, out.
You can do this.
I sighed, leaning against a wall of my room. Today had been stressful. Mother had kept trying to call me, probably wanting to know how I was doing. I squinted at my phone, knowing it would ring again sometime in the next few minutes. Sure enough, it did.
I groaned, swiping it off the table by my bed, and answered it.
"Hello?"
There was no response for a few moments, then a voice that was definitely not my mom's spoke.
"Look outside," it ordered. I did as I was told, looking outside one of the windows.
The first thing I noticed was a flickering blue fire, that strangely didn't affect anything near it. And then I saw the silhouette holding it. But as soon as I saw it, there was nothing. The call dropped.
It was silent.
And I was scared.
~~~~
That was the only thing strange that I saw. The rest of the day droned on, in a boring blur.
In the evening, I eventually decided to chill with my buddies. After I contacted them, I headed to our usual hangout spot. Sure enough, they were there.
"Hey there! " I called, alerting them to my presence.
One turned and smiled brightly, showing her mouth full of metal. (*cough*Mabel*cough*) "Hi there, (Y/N)! How have you been?! It's been a while!" she exclaimed, talking a mile a minute. Her brother just waved, a small smile on his face. My other friends, (insert three or four friends here), greeted me as well.
We spent the night drinking. How we were gonna get home was a mystery to figure out later. But I enjoyed it while it lasted.
I didn't remember the rest of that night, but somehow I got home.
The morning was a pleasant surprise.
Scratch that, it scared the shit out of me.
