Time skip to after work because it gets boring hearing about work stuff :)

Rowan helped Toka up the stairs to his apartment. Toka knew that Chris wasn't there. Yet, when he got to the door, he motioned for Rowan to stop so he can check. Which he obliged. Once he saw that no one was in the apartment, he called out to his boss. "It's okay to come in." 

Rowan walks into a stench that he knew well. Alcohol. "I'm sorry about the mess, sir. I don't normally have time to clean." Toka got out some air freshener and sprayed some around the couch and by the door. "We have about an hour and a half. That's when his friends usually get back." Rowan nodded and looked around. He thought it would be filled up with stuff for Toka's headspace. Even the bedroom was practically empty. He only had a couple of stuffed animals. 

"I still wrote out a checklist of things to grab. I'll set it on the counter for you to look at." Toka unfolded the paper from his pocket and set it on the counter like he said he would. 

Rowan walked over and looked at the said paper. Shampoo, Conditioner, Bodywash, Clothes, Laptop, Tablet...He read out all the things. Toka didn't put any of his other things on the list. "Are you going to grab any of your little space stuff?"

Toka froze for a second."I-I really only have a couple of things. I don't really need to put that on the paper." Rowan looked at Toka in confusion but shrugged it off. 

He started looking around but then got to the closet. He started opening it but it was immediately closed by Toka. "I don't think you should look in there. It's nothing to pique interest." 

"Don't be lying to me, hun. I can tell from your voice. What's in the closet?" Rowan asked in a soft voice. He learned that he can draw out Toka's mindset by speaking softly. He also knew by the tone of Toka's voice that he was obviously hiding something. Probably his gear. Which is why you don't see anything laying around the place. 

"I...Uhm..."Toka fidgets for a minute and slowly opens the closet. The top shelf is what surprised him the most. "tHAT..."Toka coughs at the voice crack."T-that shelf is just in case I slip younger than I usually am. It's rare that it happens."

Rowan nods in understanding. "It's alright. Thank you for being honest with me. Would you like to take them with you?" Toka looks down with a flushed face and slightly nods his head. Rowan puts the diapers in one of the few bags they bought before they came here. Next, he glances at a box that's in the closet on one of the lower shelves. "What would be in this small box?" The box was a simple chest design painted pastel green. There were darker green spots that looked like it would be a dinosaur design. 

Toka took it and looked down. "It's just a couple of pictures, crayons, and three pacis in it."

Rowan smiled and opened the bag for Toka to put it in. Which he did. Toka walked over to the other side of the room to get a suitcase, another thing they bought before they came. He had the option to choose which was a pink suitcase. It was pretty big too so he could fit all his clothes in. 

Once they put all of his clothes in, Toka went to the kitchen with a red face with Rowan following and silently got out a sippy cup that he usually uses and put it in a bag as well. Toka went to the checklist to check off a majority of the things. He also checked off the bathroom necessities because they also got them while shopping. 

"Would you like to bring your stuffed animals? You can introduce me to them when we get to my house? Also, is that all for the bags?" 

"Yes. And also yes..." 

"Alrighty then, let's get the bags out to the car first, and then we can bring your friends to sit in the backseat." 

Toka smiles and nods a yes. They took all of the bags and put them in the trunk of the car. Then Toka ran back up the stairs and took his three stuffies that get lonely a lot when he's at work. He squeezed each stuffie and then took them downstairs and put them into the back seat. He thought for a moment and put the seatbelt on each one. Once he got back up from putting their seatbelts off, Rowan was looking at him with a questioning look but also smiling. Toka huffs at Rowan, "They need to be safe. I was simply putting their seatbelt on." Rowan chuckled.

"Well, we still have about 15 minutes before we have to leave so we don't run into him," Rowan suggested. 

"I think I'm all ready." Toka proclaims. 

"Alright then," Rowan walks over to the door and opens the passenger side open for Toka. 

"Thanks." 

"No problem." Toka climbs into the seat. Rowan shuts the door and goes to his place on the driver's side. 

After both of them buckled up, he started up the car and backed out of the parking space, then drove off.

When he did, Toka stared out of the window until the apartment was out of sight. He sighed and looked ahead. Hopefully, he made the right decision, he thought.
