"i'm sorry," jamie murmured, holding lucas's hand, "i shouldn't have started to panic like that."

"it's alright," he hummed, smiling at her, tracing shapes on her hand, "i get to come home soon!"

"are you sure you're ready? don't push yourself lucas," jamie mumbled, staring at their hands, "we don't want another repeat."

"i have to be strong and get over it," lucas sounded optimistic, "i am strong and i can get over it."

"i'm glad you're staying positive," jamie smiled, "i'll help you every step of the way."

lucas smiled even brighter than before, "this time i promise i won't deal with it alone! i'll talk to you."

jamie nodded, putting her second hand on top of lucas's, "i trust you."

"so jaemin told me you are dating mark," lucas grinned slyly, "i thought you liked renjun?"

jamie faked a scream, taking her hands back and covering her face in embarrassment, "i hate na jaemin!"

lucas giggled, "answer me!"

"i don't really know if i really liked renjun or if i liked the idea of being his friend and being around him," jamie mumbled, still hiding behind her hands, "i do like mark though, a lot."

"aw," lucas cooed, "but gross."

jamie laughed lightly, moving her hands from her face, "deal with it!"

"i hope jaehyun hasn't given him the talk yet, because i want to do it with him," lucas pouted, "he probably did."

jamie shook her head, "mark's been really busy and as far as i know jaehyun hasn't cornered him in school so."

lucas nodded, smiling.

"hey lu, do you know a chaeyoung? she goes by rosé?"

lucas's face fell and he got pale, "why? what does she want?"

"nothing, she's just using mark."

"not surprised," lucas's voice was quiet, "she was one of the people that bullied me."

jamie's face fell and she moved forward, hugging lucas, "i'm sorry lu."

"it's okay jim," lucas hugged her back, "she left me alone after i tried... you know... the first time."

"so now we have to get her away from mark," jamie mumbled, trying to figure out a plan.

lucas nodded, "did you know she apparently had a younger sister?"

"had?" jamie asked, letting go of lucas.

lucas nodded, "i heard rumors that she was adopted and her sister neglected and committed suicide because of it."

jamie frowned, "how much younger?"

"i didn't hear that," lucas shrugged, "maybe if you ask jaehyun he'll know, i think he was friends with her at one point."

"oh yeah, sometimes i forget jaehyun is that 'flower boy' scholar that also plays basketball," jamie scoffed, "i don't see it but i guess some people have no taste."

lucas laughed, "come on, that cant be true, you have to see him as somewhat attractive."

jamie pulled a disgusted face, "no, no way. he's practically my father, that would be disgusting."

"i'm a guy and very much straight and even i think he's attractive," lucas scoffed.

jamie pretended to gag, "gross, no way."

lucas laughed, "stay in your dream world."

jaehyun narrowed his eyes at jamie who didn't even flinch at his yelling, examining him.

"do you want something from me?" jaehyun asked, taking a sip from his fresh brewed americano.

"nothing," jamie shook her head, "do you know a chaeyoung?"

"rosé? yeah, why?" jaehyun answered, leaning against the counter, "oh, she's one of mark's friends. don't worry, he won't cheat on you with her, she has a boyfriend."

jamie was even more confused, if she had a boyfriend why was she making mark buy stuff for her?

"how much younger is her younger sister?" jamie asked.

"one year," jaehyun responded cautiously, "why?"

"did she go to sopa?" jamie was curious now. she didn't look at the news often, but she overheard some kids at yongsan around the time donghyuck's friend died saying someone committed suicide from sopa. how often would two people in the same school commit suicide? and if chaeyoung's sister had committed suicide, were they the same person?"

"yeah she did," jaehyun hummed, "i think her name was mina."

everything seemed to click. mina that girl she had talked to on dnyl was the same mina that was donghyuck's best friend and was chaeyoung's younger sister. was that why mark knew chaeyoung? did donghyuck and mina introduce her to him?

"earth to jamie," jaehyun called, waving his hand in front of her face, "your making that 'i'm thinking too hard' face again."

could that be why donghyuck was acting weird? if chaeyoung and mark were still 'friends' then wouldn't donghyuck and chaeyoung not want to be around each other? did donghyuck blame chaeyoung for mina's death since, from what lucas said, mina's parents preferred chaeyoung?

jamie thought back to that day when she saw donghyuck at the hospital, there was another family there. was that mina's?

"jamie there are costumers, wake up," jaehyun flicked her forehead, bringing her back to the real world, "job first, meddling later."

jamie laughed and started to work, jaehyun knew her all too well.

now she just had to get everything confirmed by one of the two.
