i turned off my phone, smiling at jaehyun who just walked into the apartment.

his eyes searched the room, stopping when he saw me, laying on the couch, he is psychometric playing on the tv.

"right where i left you," he sighed, a slight laugh escaping.

"exactly that. how was class?" i asked, sitting up and following him into the kitchen.

i sat on the counter and watched as he put away the groceries in his hand, "good, besides the fact that you ignoring me and freaked me out."

"but you came home quicker!" i cheered, "i was lonely."

jaehyun faced me, his dimples showing from his smile, "you're cheeky, aren't you? get ready, we're going out for dinner."

i cheered and ran to my room, getting dressed in a different sweater and jeans.

i slid on the floor from my socks, jaehyun giggling as i fell.

"stop being mean," i pouted, grabbing his hand.

he just smiled, pulling me up.

"does johnny have the late shift tonight?" i asked, trailing behind jaehyun.

the streetlights didn't hide the disappointment on my face, jaehyun frowning immediately at the way i looked.

"hey," he stopped, facing me and pulling one of my cheeks, "don't give me that look, you know he's trying to support you both."

"but jae," i could barely form words, sadness dripping from my voice, "i miss him, i haven't seen him in days... it's the weekend and he's still working."

"it's friday," jaehyun smiled softly, moving his hand from my cheek to my head, patting it, "he'll be back tomorrow."

"he'll sleep tomorrow," i argued.

"am i not enough?" jaehyun teased.

"you're more than enough," i blurted, "but johnny-"

"come on," jaehyun turned, taking my hand on his and walking forward, "we need to eat away our troubles."

"binge-eating isn't good for you!" i called out, struggling to keep up.

jaehyun just giggled and continued to walk, muttering a little "i know."

even with the smiles on our faces and our playful banter, both of us knew we were just doing it for the other, to make them feel better. two heart broken people together, what could go wrong?
