The young girl lay in a white kimono within dark void ' cold...' her voice echoed in her mind

' it's so cold......'

' where am I?....'

' why is it so dark.....'

'Hello?....'

' can anyone hear me?.....'

' don't worry kyouka....demon snow will protect you until your finally safe, dont let "him" get you like he got me......' someone else's voice echoed in the dark space

' Huh? Who is that?' The girl wondered

" hey! I think she's waking up!" A male voice

" will you pipe down! Your too noise!" An elderly woman shouted

The girl who's body was lying on a sofa vision slowly started to return, her eyes flutter open slightly to see two silhouettes hovering above her.

There was an old lady and a man with long blue hair who stood up behind her

The girl tried to sit up, but grit her teeth when she suddenly felt the pain in her head along the lines of ringing in the ears which she place a hand over her forehead.

"Don't move around, yet. You're heads still wounded." The old lady said.

"W-wounded..?" The girl spoke in an audible whisper.

"Yeah. My grandson here found you unconscious in a dark ally. Luckily you only had a small head injury and a few cuts on your hand and ankle you've been asleep for three days since he found you, Do you remember anything?" She asked.

The girl thought for a moment, but it seemed like everything in her head was erased, she couldn't remember anything about herself

"N-no..." the girl muttered, looking down.

"Do you remember anything at all?" The male asked, The girl shook her head ".. I'm sorry.." she says in a hush voice"You don't need to apologise dear. Do you remember your name at least?" The old woman asked.

The girl thought for a moment, before a saying a name that came to mind

"I....kyouka I think." she nodded

"Kyouka? What a lovely name." The old lady said. "T-Thank you.." the girl blushed a little "but Who are you both?" She then asked

"My name is Tae Seragaki and this is my grandson, Aoba Seragaki." She said, smiling.

"Hello." Aoba waved and smiled as well.

"Thank you for bringing me here to your home.. You didn't need to bandage up my wounds though.." Kyouka said.

"Young lady, those wounds may be only minor, but it still needs to be healed and it wouldn't hurt that much." Tae replied "it still needed to be treated. After all, you're a young woman. You need to take care of yourself." She said.

"Right.. Thank you.." kyouka smiled.

" right, now we'll try and find out what to do about your memory problem, but it's late" tae says " I've already gotten the guest room ready, aoba can take you to the bathroom so you can wash up, I left some spare cloths in there too" she adds

"I don't think she can walk properly on that ankle." Aoba says

"Why don't you just carry her upstairs?" Tae-san suggested, smirking. Aoba and kyouka blushed deeply.

"E-eh? T-that isn't neccasary..! I can wal-kyaa!" She squealed as she was lifted up. immediately holding onto whoever or whatever carried her, which happened to be Aoba.

"Y-you really didn't need to.." kyouka stuttered as her m eyes gazed away from him embarrassed

"I-It's fine.. y-You're as light as a feather.." Aoba replied, a little flustered.

"Aww, I already see a romance forming here~" Tae-san teased

"G-Grams!" He exclaimed as his blush got worst, but turns and carries the girl upstairs while the old woman laughed

"You're grandmother is a nice lady,." Kyouka smiled sheepishly As he continued carrying her bridal style

"Yeah, she is." Aoba replied, scratching the back of his head, also mad at tae for saying what she said

He gave her some privacy to wash up, it was hard with her ankle in pain but she managed, after her wash noticed the towel tae put on the side along with the pyjamas

When she got out, instead of meeting aoba, she was met with tae, she Lead her to the guest room she had prepared for her, by the futon was a tray with food on it " eat up, then you can rest" she patted the girls shoulder

" okay, thank you" after the old woman left, kyouka dug into the food which was left on the tray

Next day

Our certain guy was walking around outside the room the girl was sleeping in, thinking of how to tell her about

Ren poked his head out of aoba's bag " if you knock now you won't end up out here all day" he stated

" I-I know that!" Aoba said flustered " I just don't know if she's even awake yet..." he said, he slowly reached towards the door to knock, but just then the door opened, revealing kyouka in her pyjamas, as soon as they saw each other they're froze, he moved his hand back

" oh, sorry" she apologised " did I startle you?" She asked

" n-no!" Aoba replied " I-I was about to apologise to you" he said averting his eyes, ren hides back inside aoba's bag amused by aoba's Reaction "I have a day off today from my job. Do you wanna go outside and shop?" Aoba asked

"Why?" Kyouka asked tilting her head. "Well since you don't remember anything, you'll be living here for a while. I thought you'd want to buy clothes and other stuff."

"Huh? Are you sure I can stay here? I don't want to be a bother.." the girl murmured.

"No, it's okay. Grams insisted you should live here with us for a while." He said, patting her head gently, which made the girl surprised "Really? You and miss Tae have done so much for me already..."

"It's alright. We don't mind helping someone in need." He said smiling.

"Thank you so much!" She said, hugging him, Aoba tensed a bit, kyouka released him from the hug " just give me a second to change" She went back in, leaving him outside a blushing mess

Time skip

After she got ready they finished eating breakfast, both were ready to leave as they put on they're shoes.

"Grandma! We'll be leaving now!" Aoba called out

"Alright! Enjoy yourselves!" She replied " and keep her safe!" She then added

" I will!" Aoba replied then turned to kyouka "Ready?" He asked. Ren was in his bag as his head peeked out

"Yeah." She nodded with a smile on her face, Aoba returned the smile and let her exit the door, the two started walking

"Anyways, I'll explain about the Old Resident District to you." He said as Kyouka nodded.

"It doesn't have much of a transportation system and that the only kinds of transportations available, such as taxis, tend to get delayed every so often and roads may be blocked. Because of this, everyone mostly gets to where they need to go by foot. Also, the Old Resident District is divided into North, South, East and West." He explained as the both of them walked down the path.

"The Northern district is an off limits area, and has become a ghost town since Toue took control. It's an unsafe place where mostly criminals reside in, including Scratch so we don't go anywhere near there."

"Who's Toue? And is 'Scratch' some gang name?" Kyouka asked tilting her head

"He owns the island, and yes it's a gang." He said " theres actually a lot of them in the area, so be careful."

"Okay." She nodded. "Anyways, the Southern district is home to clothes shops, arcades and entertainment facilities. It's a very popular district for kids. The East district, the district we are in now and where my job is located. Also, this district is located downtown and it's safe to get around to places. Finally, the West district is a residential area. There aren't that many shops due to there being primarily homes and apartments." He finished.

"Since we're going shopping, are we going to the Southern district?" Kyouka asked.

"Yeah." Aoba nodded as the both of them stopped by a stoplight and waited for the sign to say 'go.'

"Oi, Aoba!" A familiar person to him called out.

While kyouka was distracted Aoba turned around to see a man who dressed up as a samurai

Also, there was a red bird sitting on his shoulder. The bird was his Allmate, Beni.

"Ah, Koujaku." Aoba waved to him. "Going somewhere?" Koujaku asked "Yeah. We'll be going to the Southern district."

"Huh? We?" Kojaku says confused " the girl I found three days ago remember?" Aoba replied then pointed at the distracted girl, as soon as he saw the girl

His eyes widened, she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, her lips red as a rose, her hair black as ebony, and skin white as snow

" hey she almost looks like...." he trailed off " like Snow White from that story? Yeah I've noticed, let me introduce you" aoba said

" y-yeah" Kojaku replied while aoba didn't notice his expression with the red tint

" kyouka! I've got someone I'd like for you to meet" he called out catching her Attention, who walked over

" hello" she greeted

" kyouka. This is a friend of mine, Kojaku" aoba then Turned to his friend " Kojaku this is kyouka"

"Beautiful..." Koujaku murmured, taking her hand and kissing it gently, which she blushed and made a certain Someone jealous

"It's an honor to meet you, Kyouka. My name is Koujaku. Or you can call me the person who will capture your heart." He said whispering the last part, winking at the raven headed girl.

"Mr Koujaku~!" Two voices said. "Oh?" Koujaku looked down at kyouka who was looking a uneasy before changing his gaze at the two women before them.

There were two women standing there as there eye twitched due to the fact that Koujaku still has kyouka's hand in his.

"Who's this?" One of the women asked, annoyed.

Stare.. Stare..

The poor girls face turned pale

"Oh? She's a friend of mine, right?" He said, winking down at her. "Y-yeah.." She muttered.

"Oh, I see." The woman said as they pulled Koujaku away from her while she stumbled a little in the process, but stabilised herself

"Okay. I think we should go now." He said, facing his childhood friend.

"Oh alright. Be careful." Koujaku said as the go sign vanished and the two crossed over

The day was sunny and warm as the sun shone bright. The wind was light, yet calming. The people around them was happy and talking to one another normally. "Sorry about Koujaku." Aoba said, cutting off the silence between them. "It's alright." Kyouka replied, smiling "Is he one of your friends?"

"Yeah. He's a great friend."

"That's good"

"Yeah. How about you?"

"Me? I don't think i did.." kyouka says sadly

"Huh? Why wouldn't? You're really a nice person."

"I don't....maybe they didn't like me.." Aoba stared at the short girl for a while before speaking again. "I can be your friend." Kyouka set her gaze to the tall man beside her. "Really?"

"Yeah." He nodded, smiling. "Thank you.." She smiled happily. "You're welcome." He replied. "You should smile more often. You look pretty when you smile." He said, blushing a bit. "Oh.. I'll try.." She said, blushing as well.

"Hey Aoba?" Kyouka said gaining his attention

"Yeah?"

"Are you going to work tomorrow?" She asked

"Yeah. What about it?"

"Is it alright if I come with you? Or by any chance, work there too?" She wondered

"Huh? Why?" Aoba said, facing her. "Well, you've done so much for me that I wanted to repay you back. And plus, I can't live at your place forever."

"Oh.." Aoba sighed. "Alright. You can come with me tomorrow and I'll ask mr Haga to hire you as an employee. Sounds good?"

"Yes, thank you." She smiled

The walk through the town was fun, he showed her places, even introduced her to a lot of people he knew, like miss yoshie on accident, and what made it worst for him, was she thought he was dating kyouka, which he denied immediately

Including mr haga, who aoba introduced to kyouka and wondered if she could work with them, and much to they're surprise and joy he agreed

He even introduced her to mizuki, who I think you can guess what his reaction of her was

The next morning

Kyouka was trying to sleep, but woke when she felt something on her cheek.

Her eyes flutter open slightly to see Ren licking her cheek and calling out her name "R-Ren? What are you doing in here?" She asked, her voice groggy and scratchy.

"Its time to get up, breakfast is ready. You're starting your first day." He said, after she gets dressed, she heads down stairs, eats breakfast the two then leave

They soon arrive at work, kyouka was assigned to be aoba's assistant, as well as help organising inventory

He soon pops out for a while, leaving the two to mind the shop

Kyouka sighs, wiping the sweat her forehead, after finally clearing and organising she then heard yelling from the other room

She exited the storage room, To notice three kids were annoying the Aoba. "Can you let go of me?" He said, annoyed.

"Never!" A boy said from one of the three kids who was holding him

He has short brown, scruffy hair and a bandage placed over his nose. He is always seen wearing an oversized jacket with a mouse's face as his hoodie, and light brown shorts. His sleeves are always seen covering his hands.

The other boy wore a hat on his head, a sports green goggles and a bandage on his right cheek. He wears a light green and white sweater that's cut off below his chest to reveal a green striped shirt. To stay consistent with the rest of his color scheme, his pants are also the same type of green shades as his undershirt.

Lastly, there was a girl that had freckles and short light brown hair decorated with both pink hair clips and pom-poms. She has very small, almost circular eyebrows and a band aid intact on her forhead. Her default clothing consists of a loose fitting white and pink shirt with matching shorts.

Kyouka thought it was adorable and couldn't contain her giggles " Um aoba? You okay?" she spoke out though her giggles, making the trio and Aoba turn towards her

"A customer!" The girl yelled, pointing a finger at her

"*gasp* A pretty customer.." The little boy with a mouse hoodie said, a blush forming onto his cheeks. "Hhh.." The other little
boy blushed furiously swaying "She's not a customer! She's the new employee, don't you dare attack her!" Aoba yelled in an annoyed tone.

She giggled softly and headed towards them. "Oh hello. Why are you three annoying Aoba like that?" She asked politely, kneeling down to their height arms slightly crossed

"H-he was looking at something dirty.." The little boy in the bandage over his nose

" I was not!!" Aoba yelled in protest

"So pretty..." the other little boy muttered, which kyouka giggled "Oh, I see. What are your names?" She asked

"I'm Mio!" The girl yelled, raising her arm

"N-nao.."

"K-k-kio..."

"How cute." She said, patting their heads gently and straightened then facing Aoba.

"I don't see why you're so annoyed by them." She said, smiling. "In the future, you'll understand." He said, placing his thumb and index finger over his nose in frustration

Which she couldn't help but laugh, she felt like she was going to enjoy her new life, but she felt like there was something important she needed to remember, something in the back of her mind warning her of something.....
