Hitting the city
Eliza's POV
I feel sick for a second as we teleport into Enamour. I almost vomit in the street as Michael stands over me, looking concerned. I still had yet to get used to teleporting, while he'd been doing it since he was 9.
As I recover we take in our surroundings. If we were normal people, we would think of the city as amazing, with it's tall buildings, nature patches full of Trees and plants and animals, but we knew how it was created.
1 year before we were born, me and Michael's parents had worked on this city, exhausting themselves of all of their power for months and being dragged back into the project as soon as they had the smallest sliver of their power back. Some of them (Michaels parents, for example) went crazy, while some lost their immortality. My parents had died 1 month after the city was finished, me being born from a woman who was dying of old age. I had been taken in by Pan, the Greek god of the wilds, and when school finished, I moved out of his forest, closer to Michael and the town that he lived in.
Me, Michael, His parents, Pan and a few other gods hated the city with a passion for multiple reasons and refused to live there, so Pan and some other Nature Gods had worked with Michael's father and created a paradise of sorts, making something out of empty time and space. That was where we lived. It had been..... Decades since we had came back to the city. Most people probably didn't know we were a thing.
I straighten up and we walk to The Grape Vine, a small bar/cafe that was owned and run by Bacchus. Sure, there were more fancy places to eat in this massive city, but Bacchus was where Michael, Me and everyone else normally met when we were in the city and Bacchus had became like an uncle to most of us. We figured that it would be a good place to see who was in it this time. The Games consisted of around 30 Gods each time, sometimes with multiple rounds going on at once.
We knew we would be in it, as Michael had been "volunteered as tribute" (as the mortals would say) by his parents so they wouldn't have to be in it and I had done the same thing so Pan wouldn't be chosen of my own accord, but we wondered who else would be in it. If we could work out an arrangement with some others, we could easily work out a way to get to the final 10, at the very least. Usually during negotiations Michael chose to go aggressive, threatening people with his reality field, while I chose to be nicer to people, and maybe messed with their emotions a little bit. Oh yeah, Gods of emotions could play with that emotion and some other ones, but if they realised what you were doing, it would break, hence I didn't manipulate Michael whenever he gets angry.
As we walk in the door we see that no-one has noticed us, but that it was mostly our old friends, so we decide to make a entrance.
3rd Person POV
Michael's eyes turn gray and he covers the room in the reality field (Name pending) and Eliza screams and dashes through the doors, an eye bloody and a scratches wound on her stomach and a knife in her back, so far in there that it may have been touching your vertebrae. (Listening to murder by Minx and Dave. How fitting) everyone turns around to see Michael slowly walking in the door with his mothers sword covered in blood and a empty knife scabbard on his waist. His lips were set in a twisted smile as he regarded everyone in the room, looking at them as if they were nothing. Eliza hid behind Bacchus, who had stepped forward, a giant hammer in the shape of a barrel in one hand, urn of wine in the other, with fear in her eyes and a pained expression as more blood came out of the space where the knife was embedded.
"Michael..... Step out of the bar before I have to do something rash."
Michael laughed and the field turned a shade darker, and everyone felt a pain in the back of their heads, caused by a increase of air pressure in that spot specifically. Bacchus ignored this and ran at Michael, who simply blinked behind him and grabbed Eliza by the hood. She squealed and hit at his face, but he just ignored the slaps, increasing the gravity so no-one could come near them. He kissed her and forced everyone's eyes shut as he moved his mouth away and her scream was cut short by a squelching sound. Everyone's eyes were forced open and they saw a red substance all over them and Michael holding a pink hoodie which was now stained with red and red pouring out of the bottom of it.
Michael grabbed a small amount of the red substance from the bottom of the hoodie and licked it, drinking it all. Everyone was horrified. Michael had just drank the blood of his best friend!
"You are a horrible, disgusting, manipulative, self-centred, pig headed, dumbass, you piece of horse shit." Bacchus whispered, too shocked to yell.
Michael smiled a grin that looked like it was full of humor and flipped him off with both hands and Bacchus noticed a ring on this middle finger.
"It's nice to see you too, Ya lug" Michael said calmly "and nice wine, as always."
As Michael finished saying that, Bacchus felt someone jump on his back and saw a ring matching Michael's in front of his face as he noticed his urn of wine was now gone and there was peices of ceramic near where was with the pink jumper on the floor. Eliza shoved her face in front of Bacchus's and smiled as the field retracted and Michael's eyes turned back to their usual orange and everyone was released from the fields effects. Eliza was smiling and winked her now perfect eye that had been bloody and mutilated at Michael and he blinked to her and hugged her. "Everyone, we have an announcement to make. 1. Yours truly and this wonderful lady just tricked you all" he chuckled as he said this.
"And 2. This man and moi are now engaged!" Eliza finished for him.
Michael released Eliza and was immediately tackled by a man in a bright pink jumper and a pair of cream tracksuit pants with a cream t-shirt underneath the jumper, matching the tracksuit pants. He let out grunts of annoyance as the man cuffed him on the ear multiple times. Michael sighed and grabbed the man, who was smaller than him and jumped up, bringing the other man with him, putting him down and cuffing him on his cat ears that rested on top of his head, in the middle of his brown hair. Behind his glasses he had humorous eyes that suggested a large amount of intelligence, but at the same time, a boyish playfulness. He had a grin on his face that looked like it should stretch from ear to ear, but actually was extremely small. His slightly tanned skin and his bright green eyes made him look kinda like an anime character, especially with the small fangs that stuck out from his mouth. Nearby them was a giant sword, resembling Michael's giant sword, but with a gold pattern on the inside of the blade which was made of a fireproof material and a red diamond in the middle of the blade head. Michael smiled at his friends readiness. He was immune to the reality field's physical properties, meaning he was just pretending to be affected by gravity, but he couldn't tell if the visual part was real or not. After all, he was one of Michael's oldest friends. One of three people he hadn't pushed away. The Bipolar God of Cats, Time and Earth. One of the chaos god's closest friends, Dats.
A dragon came up and made eye contact with him, transforming into a man slightly shorter than Michael wearing a ridiculous grin (He could see through the fields illusion, but still couldn't move.) a brown shirt with a guerrilla on it and dull black jeans, both of which looked similar to his dark brown hair, which looks surprisingly similar to Michael's own hair. By his side he had a dark blue and white sword with a red gem in the hilt, symmetrical with the hand guard which looked like two kunai knives. Michael smiled and fist-bumped the man, and they laughed. The God of Evolution, Ice and Hilarity. The chaos god's best friend. Before he had left school some people saw a bromance between them, but when Michael left for the "countryside" they had talked less. Jamanjaman, or Ben, as his friends called him (Writing this made me realise how many friends I have that are shorter than me and have brown hair :O) They had been the best of friends and the troublemakers of the school before Michael had given everyone the cold shoulder and the three of them remained great friends even after that. Michael looked around for the 4th member of the holy synergy, but Dats shook his head, saying that he had left earlier. Michael looked saddened, but cheered up when he realised the 5th member of the group, Eliza. He had his best friends and his fiancé with him! Of course he was happy!
---
I feel like this was too short, but this is actually one of the longer chapters in this book, if memory serves. Dats and Ben are actually my closest friends IRL before I changed schools. I've given them exadurated personalities and stuff. Also, Dats' sword is meant to be Dandelga from Brave frontier and JamenJamen's is meant to be the Blaster Blade from Cardfight!!! Vanguard.Dats is obsessed with that game and both me and JamenJamen love Cardfight.
Cya!
