Inanna followed Five into the television store, unbuttoning her blood stained cardigan one handed as she held the conch shell in her other hand, running over the Handler's words in her mind. After delivering AJ to the Handler she told Inanna and Five that they only had 90 minutes to find Five's siblings and get back to 2019 with the briefcase — a time limit hadn't been apart of the deal — but if they left as soon as possible, then doomsday and the apocalypse would never happen.

Inanna hurried up the stairs behind Five, noticing three words written on the floor in either red paint or blood. Inanna hoped it wasn't the latter, she had seen enough bodies for one day, but the words 'ÖGA FÖR ÖGA' left Inanna and Five thinking their morning was only going to get worse.

At the top of the stairs facing towards the front of the television store, sat in one of Elliott's chairs was a body covered over with a black sheet. Five pulled the cover back and Inanna felt her heart drop to the pit of her stomach.

Elliott laid dead in the chair, barely recognisable after the torture he had endured the night before while the others met with Reginald Hargreeves.

Inanna stumbled back, her free hand catching herself on the stairs banister as Five threw the cover back over Elliott's face.

Five turned to Inanna, placing the briefcase carefully onto the floor next to him, guilt already setting in his bones.

"Inan-" Inanna shook her head, unable to rip her eyes away from Elliott.

"Oscar died" Inanna muttered, her hand tightening around the metal banister as Five stepped towards her and her body phased — Inanna didn't react to the phasing, barely even feeling the pain as her tears mixed with the dried blood that caked her cheeks.

"We don't know that" Five knew that was a lie, it was clear to him and to Inanna that one of the Swedes had died.

Five stepped in between Inanna and Elliott, acting as a second barrier for Inanna, but Elliott's bloodied and tormented face was already burned into Inanna's memories.

"An eye for an eye" Inanna translated the words, leaning her body to the left as she looked passed Five to Elliott. "I killed him and they kill-".

"It's not your fault" Five gently grasped Inanna's face with his hands, noticing how she looked through him like he was nothing more than a ghost, the shock and upset in her eyes, twisting as she forgot about the task at hand. "Listen to me, Inanna" Five whispered. "This isn't your fault, okay? It is-".

"Do you want to tell Elliott that?" Inanna muttered.

"No" Five shook his head. "You know better than I do that he would tell you the same thing. Elliott was your friend, he cared for you and he wouldn't let you throw away a one in a million opportunity... this is our chance, Inanna, we have to take it".

Inanna knew Five was right but it was Elliott.

"Okay" Inanna mumbled.

"Okay?" Five repeated, he didn't expect it to be that easy, Inanna nodded. Five leaned his forehead against hers as he wiped away her tears, smearing the blood down her cheek.

Five dropped his hands from Inanna's face, his brothers voices in the kitchen catching his attention. Five picked up the briefcase and took Inanna's hand in his, looking for a place to hide the briefcase while he listened to Diego and Luther talk to a woman called 'Olga' over the phone.

If Five's thoughts hadn't been taken over by the almost impossible task he had been handed by the Handler, he would have been aware of the pain that remained in Inanna's blue eyes and thoughts that ran through her mind.

Five hid the briefcase in plain sight next to one of Elliott's desk, letting go of Inanna's hand as she pulled away from him to go to the kitchen.

Diego took the phone from Luther. "You killed one of ours Olga, now we're coming after you. You will be dead by nightfall" Diego stated

"I- I really hope that wine" Luther said, his head following Inanna as she slipped passed him into the bathroom, leaving the conch shell on the table. Inanna didn't respond, shutting the bathroom door behind herself and locking it.

Inanna's back slid down the door as she buried her face in her hands, her palms digging into her eye sockets. Inanna couldn't do anything, she didn't have the time to find the Swedes, and even if she did find Otto and Axel, it was two against one.

Her silent cries weren't only for Elliott, but also for Elliott's son, Eddie, who would have to grow up in a world without his father just how Inanna had grown up without her parents. Inanna knew that kind of loss all too well and didn't want to imagine how it would affect the young boy.

"You good in there?" Luther tapped on the door with his knuckles as Five told Diego that the words were 'Örga for Örga' not Olga Foroga.

"Yeah-" Inanna mumbled "Yep" Inanna swallowed harshly as she wiped her face with her hands. "I'll be just a minute" Inanna said.

Inanna stood up from the floor, discarding her stained cardigan as she tossed it onto the floor and peered at herself in the mirror. She was a mess of blood, sweat and tears, like something out of the horror film that had scarred her as a child.

Inanna let the tap run for a moment, her hands gripping the edge of the sink as she took a deep breath, watching a stray tear roll down her cheek and underneath her jaw, it finally disappearing as it dropped into her red hair that hung around her shoulders.

Inanna splashed the water onto her face and started scrubbing at her skin with her hands, leaving dirty drops of water in the sink bowl and on the floor around her feet as she listened to Five tell Luther and Diego a simple version of the events that had unfolded since the meeting the night before while he washed the blood off his face in the kitchen sink and Diego grabbed him one of Elliott's white shirts to change into.

At the mention of Allison's name an idea, one that Five would disagree with, popped into Inanna's mind. There was only one way Inanna believed she would leave 1963 without murdering the Swedes... If she forgot who Elliott was.

Murdering the Swedes wouldn't bring Elliott back and it wouldn't reduce any of the pain Inanna felt after seeing her friend's body, but Allison could make Inanna forget, she could make Inanna forget every moment she had spent with Elliott from the second they met.

Inanna wasn't sure if she'd go through with it and she partially hoped she would chicken out when she saw Allison, but in that moment, it was all she wanted.

Inanna turned the tap off, her mind set. She dried her face and hands in a rush before leaving the bathroom, untucking her blouse from her trousers.

"I can get Allison" Inanna said as she passed Five, Diego and Luther. "She told me where she lives the other-".

"I think it's best if you come with me to get Van-" Inanna kicked the bedroom door half closed as she unbuttoned her blouse.

"I'm fine, Five" Inanna lied.

"Fine?" Diego repeated. "You came home covered in blood and Elli- What the hell?!" Luther hit Diego in his arm, staring at him with wide eyes as Five followed Inanna into the bedroom.

"Inanna" Five sighed pulling his tie over his head, his clean shirt in his hand, as Inanna grabbed the first shirt out of the drawer.

Inanna turned to Five, swapping her dirty blouse for the clean one. "I'm fine, well not exactly fine" Inanna mumbled pulling her hair out the back of the shirt. "We have a time limit" Inanna stated, bringing the topic of the conversation back to her getting Allison. "And if I go with you, I'm just going to feel like you are waiting for me to explode and do something irrational".

"I don't want you disappearing on me that's all. If you go after the Swedes you'll miss the-".

Inanna looked up from the buttons of her shirt as she continued doing them up — Five copying her actions with his own clean shirt. "I'm not going after the Swedes" Five raised his brows, unconvinced. "I'm not" Inanna repeated. "I'll get Allison and meet you back here as soon as we can, okay?".

"Inan-" Five shook his head.

"Okay?" Inanna repeated.

Five hesitantly nodded "Okay". They didn't have the time to go back and forth so Five just had to trust Inanna.

Inanna and the others left as soon as Inanna and Five were dressed. Luther went with Five, the pair of them going to find Vanya while Diego went to get Klaus, all of them taking a watch that Five had synchronised.

Inanna arrived at Allison's while she was out, sneaking in through the back door that had been left unlocked and sitting at the kitchen table while she waited for her to come home.

Inanna had only been sat at the table for ten minutes when she heard the front door open, but it was the longest ten minutes of her life, every second being used to plan how she'd tell Allison that her time with Ray was almost over and that she'd have to leave behind the life she had built for herself.

Allison stopped by the kitchen entrance, startled by the red head girl who she hadn't expected to be in her home, almost dropping her brown paper grocery bag.

Inanna stood up from the table, muttering an apology for scaring Allison as she pushed the chair back underneath the table.

"Inanna? Is- Are you okay?" Allison crossed the room, sitting her bag of groceries down on the table.

Inanna nodded "I'm okay, but, uh-".

"Is it Five?" Allison asked, the sadness in Inanna's eyes and Inanna turning up at her home making Allison believe that something had happened to one of her brothers. "Diego? Did something-".

"We have a way to go home" Inanna interrupted with a shake of her head as she took the watch out of her pocket, looking at how much time she had left, 50 minutes... 51 minutes to be precise. "A way to get back to 2019".

Allison's expression changed to one of shock and confusion. "What-".

"We leave in 51 minutes" Inanna said.

"51 minutes, what-".

"I know it's not enough time-" If Inanna could somehow give Allison more time to say goodbye to Ray she would and if the Handler hadn't changed the deal, Allison could have had at least one more day with her husband.

"And doomsday?" Allison asked.

"It won't happen. It will go back to normal" Inanna didn't exactly know what normal was in 2019.

"Are you saying that I could see my daughter again?" Allison asked Inanna. "Tonight?" Allison asked.

Inanna's eyes widened slightly. She didn't knew that Allison had a daughter and she also wasn't sure if she could promise that to her.

Inanna shrugged as she bit the inside of her lip. "I- I don't know..."

"Inanna" Allison sighed. "I cannot keep losing people. You weren't there last time, what if Five doesn't get it right? I could loose everyone" Allison whispered.

"You can't stay here, Allison, none of us can. You and I and the rest of your family, we don't belong here" Inanna circled round the table to Allison, putting her hand on the top of her arm as Allison turned to look at her, her eyes glossed over "I have no idea what's waiting for us in 2019, but i'm going because there's a chance I could see my family again for the first time in over forty years-". Inanna hoped her family hadn't forgotten her and that they had been waiting for her return, even if she wasn't the same girl they had lost.

"-Five is all I have and I lost him for years... I know how it feels to be alone" Inanna wiped a tear from her cheek as soon as it fell.

"You're not alone" Allison said quietly as a tear ran down her cheek. "What ever we go back to, you're not alone".

Five's siblings weren't what Inanna had imagined, and they didn't match the characters in her head that she had created long ago in the apocalypse but they were real and they cared about her, in their own odd ways.

Allison knew she couldn't stay, as much as she wanted to. If she did, doomsday would happen and everyone would die. She had to loose her new life to save the world.

Inanna smiled with a slight shake of her head.
"We have to have some hope, right?" Inanna chuckled with a sniffle as Allison smiled weakly. "I mean, my ancestors would be heavily disappointed if I didn't, with it being my last name and all".

Allison nodded as she pulled Inanna towards her, and in that moment as Inanna hugged Allison, she forgot her ulterior motive for wanting to be the one to find Allison.

"Allison?" Ray entered the kitchen, his voice full of concern. Allison and Inanna pulled away from each other, wiping away their tears as Allison turned to her husband. "Is everything okay?".

Inanna left as soon as Allison began talking to Ray, wanting to give them the privacy they needed, especially since it would be the last time they spoke to each other. Allison promised Inanna that she wouldn't be late and Inanna believed her, saying nothing more than a quick hello and goodbye to Ray before she was leaving in the same car she had driven in.

Inanna tried not to think about Elliott during the drive back to his apartment, although she failed rather quickly and began weighing up the pros and cons of being rumoured by Allison to forget him. But when Inanna stepped into his quiet apartment, noticing how his body had been removed from the chair, every moment Inanna had spent in the apartment — good and bad — flooded back to her as she sat down on the couch.

Inanna didn't know how long she had until she needed to be in the alleyway, and she didn't want to check, choosing to spend the last few minutes she possibly had in the 60s in the one place she had felt safe since before the apocalypse.

Five blinked into the apartment, his wide eyes looking around for Inanna's conch shell and her brown coat, unaware of Inanna who sat on the couch, staring at chair opposite her, just as unaware of his presence.

Five only noticed Inanna when he grabbed the conch shell off the table, his eyes still darting around for her brown coat.

"Inanna" Five spoke Inanna's name softly, not wanting to startle her as he snapped her out of the trance she seemed to be in.

Inanna turned her head towards him, a forced smile forming on her lips. "Hi" Inanna tucked her hair behind her ear "I didn't think you'd be back yet".

"Just doing a little pick up" Five nodded his head to the conch shell in his hand, unable to ignore how her smile didn't match her eyes.

Five crossed the room to Inanna and Inanna took the shell from his hands, sitting it in her lap as Five circled around to the back of the couch, stopping behind her.

Inanna tilted her head back, looking up at him as Five ran his finger tips down the side of her neck, purposely trying to make her laugh as he grazed over her skin where she was most ticklish.

Inanna leaned her head into his hand, trapping his hand against her neck as her smile grew slightly.

"Stop" Inanna mumbled as she looked up at him.

"I'm not doing anything" Five responded, bringing his other hand to the other side of Inanna's neck.

Inanna turned around suddenly, her hands grabbing both of his wrists as the conch shell fell off her lap and onto the floor, and her knees dug into the sofa.

Five's lips pulled into a smirk, watching Inanna's glare soften.

"You're a dickhead, Five Hargreeves" Inanna muttered, leaning closer to Five until her nose grazed his.

Five moved his hands to Inanna's face, brushing his thumbs across her cheeks as Inanna let go of his wrists "And you're the love of my life".

Inanna fake gagged as she rolled her eyes. "I guess you're mine too" Inanna muttered under her breath.

Five shook his head with a slight smile as he leaned back from Inanna, "I won't argue with that" Five dropped his hands from Inanna's face, reaching for her hands which sat on the back of the couch. Five brought Inanna's hands up to his lips and kissed her knuckles.

Inanna chuckled as she pulled one of her hands from his and shoved him lightly in his chest, which made Five drop her other hand. "Come on, old man, we've got the future to get back to".

"Old man?" Five scoffed as Inanna stood up from the couch.

"Just go find my coat" Inanna waved her hand at Five as she picked up the shell off the floor, turning it towards the light to check for any cracks.

Five tucked his hands into his pockets as he turned on his heel towards Inanna's room. "Yes, ma'am" Five muttered.

Luther was already in the alley way, holding the briefcase that Five had hidden in the bin before they went to find Vanya.

"Where's Allison?" Luther asked Inanna.

"She said she'll be here" Inanna said as Five took the suitcase from Luther. "Where's everyone else?" Inanna asked.

"We're the first" Five said taking his watch out of his pocket.

At the far end of the alley, Klaus appeared with his arms out stretched to his sides, almost running straight into the wall as he turned down the alley.

Klaus ran down the alley, all over the place, shouting "We made it". He stopped in front of them, seemingly wrestling with his own body as Five asked "What do you mean, 'we'?".

"Get. Out" Klaus choked out his words ignoring Five before he turned around, his hands clutching at his stomach as he hunched over and vomited on the ground by his feet.

"Disgusting" Inanna muttered as Klaus fell onto the ground, still holding his stomach.

"I can't believe it. I mean, you're here" Luther said in disbelief pointing at Klaus.

"We've got eight minutes left" Five said looking at his watch. "Where are the others?" Five asked his voice raised.

"Allison" Inanna turned to Five. "She promised, she said she'd be here, I only left her so she could say goodbye to Ray".

"Promises don't mean anything in this family, Inanna" Five said, growing impatient with his siblings.

"They still have eight minutes, maybe they are stuck in-".

"If you say traffic, I will throw myself into traffic" Five interrupted Inanna. "I haven't seen any traffic the entire time I have been here, so I rather doubt it".

"Don't be an ass" Inanna said, scratching her temple which was still slightly bruised from the fight with Oscar. "They'll be here".

"And if they're not?" Five asked. "You know what we did to get this briefcase, can you live with that?" Five asked Inanna.

Inanna never enjoyed killing people, neither did Five, the only difference was Five seemed to hold onto the guilt longer than Inanna did. If Five's siblings didn't get to the alley in time, Inanna believed that she would still sleep fine at night without the guilt of the board murders clinging to her.

The only murder Inanna would never forget would be Oscar, not because she felt any regret but because his death is what led to Elliott's death.

"Clearly-" Luther spoke up before Inanna could reply to Five. "-you two didn't help out at a nursing home to get the briefcase, but right now isn't the time to argue about it, save the husband and wife shit until we get back to 2019" Luther said.

"Sure" Inanna nodded turning her body away from Five. "At least there will be traffic in 2019" Inanna muttered, feeling Five's glare burn into her cheek.

Five grew more agitated as the minutes ticked by and still there was no sight of Allison, Diego or Vanya. Klaus was barely conscious, mumbling random strings of sentences that none of them even bothered to understand.

"It was a simple task. It was a simple task" Five said, pacing backwards and forwards along the alley. "All they had to do was be here. Didn't have to fight a giant sea monster, no. An army of mutants? Nein-".

"I can't believe this" Luther muttered looking at his watch.

"- It was handed to us on a silver platter" Five said.

"Could you just moan a little softer?" Klaus asked sitting up for the first time since he had fallen to the floor. "My head is killing me" Klaus put his hands over his ears.

"Listen to me, you useless puke bag, we just blew our chance to save the world!" Five shouted pointing at the briefcase that he had placed on the floor.

The briefcase clicked as it powered itself on, the sound echoing around them as Inanna stood up straight from the wall she was leaning against.

"Five" Inanna mumbled his name.

Five scoffed looking at the briefcase. They were out of time. "God damn it" Five muttered.

Five picked up the briefcase and threw it into the air. A blue portal appeared and disappeared just as quickly with the briefcase.

"We were that close" Five muttered "That close".

"Now what?" Luther asked, his elbow propped up against the bin.

"Now nothing, Luther, all right?" Five shouted. "Make your peace with God".

"What? What about Allison and Vanya?" Luther asked as Five leaned his forehead against the wall.

"Screw them both. They should have been here" Five said looking over his shoulder at Luther.

"What about Diego?" Klaus asked sitting up again. "He's quite a responsible young man, no?" Klaus said as Five ran across the alley and kicked a pile of boxes that had been stacked up next to the bin.

Luther shook his head at Five's actions. "Something must've happened to them" Luther said.

"Maybe the Swedes?" Inanna suggested.

"Screw Diego, all right? Screw the Swedes, screw everybody!" Five shouted. "We were better off on our own in the apocalypse" Five pointed to Inanna. "At least we would have died in peace" Five shouted.

"Five!" Luther shouted his name, wanting to be heard over Five's thoughts as Five turned away from Inanna, pacing back over to the wall opposite. "Come on".

Five spun around on his heel, his finger pointing at his brother. "You know what, Luther? It's every sibling for himself now. How 'bout that?" Five asked as he walked towards the back door of the television store.

Klaus whimpered as he held onto his shirt, watching the door slam shut behind Five. "Did Five just get meaner?" Klaus asked.

Inanna raised her brows at Luther as she followed after Five. deciding that it probably wasn't the best idea to leave him alone.

Inanna didn't know what other options they had left. Reginald Hargreeves had been a complete waste of their time and the Hargreeves siblings didn't understand simple instructions.

Luther told Klaus to check on Allison and find the others before running after Inanna and Five, hoping that he didn't have to mediate one of their arguments while trying to figure out a new way home.

"Hey!" Luther ran up the stairs after Inanna and Five. "Five, doomsday is still coming. We gotta think of a new plan" Luther said.

"Don't you get it, Luther? It's over, all right? We're already dead" Five said.

"Then where are you going?" Luther asked.

Five turned around to look at Luther. Inanna stopped in front of him, stuck between the brothers. "I'm going to do the unthinkable" Inanna put her hand on Five's shoulder, pushing him to turn him away from Luther as he muttered "I was really hoping it wouldn't come to this".

"Do you know what that means?" Luther asked Inanna as Five continued his walk to Elliott's apartment. Inanna shrugged, for Five the 'unthinkable' wasn't just one thing, there was a list of things. "What does that mean?" Luther asked.

"Five? What's your plan?" Inanna asked, sighing as she held the door open for Luther and Five went into Inanna's room, locking the door behind himself.

Luther entered the apartment and Inanna shut the door behind them as Luther knocked on the bedroom door, trying to get an answer out of Five.

i noticed while editing this
that i wrote suitcase instead
of briefcase accidentally a lot
