When people ask you 'How do you know?' you never really have an answer. You just do know and that's why you told them, but they won't listen to you because they think you were wrong and when it happens they tell you that you were right and you don't know weather you should reply with a 'I told you so.'

  How do you know?

You just do. When someone asks you if it would be a good idea to buy a dress in yellow color and you just know that it won't look good on them and you tell them that and they ask you, 'How do you know? You've never seen me where this color,' and the reason 'It makes you look like you're a drop of sun,' isn't good enough.

They ask you How do you know? and you just shrug your shoulders because you know that you do not have a good enough reason to make them do, or let them know the information you do, because they are not sure if you are right and when you can't explain why you are, why would they listen?

That's the problem. That's human nature and I think no one can go against it. Where's the point in it anyway?

Human nature. It's in the human nature to be work, to be nice and kind. To steal and lie, to write to rules, follow them, and break them. It is in the human nature to cheat, to make mistakes and to forgive or not forgive and it is never easy, because you never know what is better and to be honest, they are all equal qualities.

It is in the human nature to react the way you do and repeat your mistakes over and over again in spite of knowing what results they give.

It is in the human nature to think of the things you are not supposed to, to think of the memories you're not supposed to remember.

It was eight in the evening and I do not know how long I have been waiting for my mother now. Our school program got over about an hour or two ago, I didn't really check my time back then. Surprisingly, I wasn't the only one left waiting for someone to come and pick me up.

I caught a glimpse of Jeremy and walked down the stair slowly, he was standing next to the gate, just as I was about to greet him my mother appeared. Now, dear mother, was not the right time. I pushed the thought of trying to speak to Jeremy to the back of my mind and walked to my mother, hugging her and then crouching down to my little brother.

"Hello, little boy, how are you today?" I asked, grinning at him. His little hands wrapped around my neck and I wrapped mine around his thighs, placing him on my right hip.

"Jeremy!" I called out, "come here, I want you to meet a little someone."

"A little someone?" he asked, raising his eyebrows and looking at me like I've just grown two heads or worse.

  "Just come here."

I placed my little brother down and looked up at Jeremy, "Jem, this is Mark. Mark, this is Jeremy, say hi!" I said, pushing my brother to Jeremy, he was shy and hiding behind my skirt didn't help, I nudged him and said, "Come on, say Hi."

"Hi, Germy," he said and then took Jeremy finger, circling his hand around it. His hand was so small compared to Jeremy's finger, the same made me smile and think of a future.

  A future I couldn't have and shouldn't think of.

I placed my hand on my stomach and rubbed slow circles, thinking about Mark and Jeremy over and over again, I would have done anything to live in that moment again.

My phone rang, bringing me back to my senses. I lazily got out of bed and looked at the number flashing, it wasn't familiar, but I picked it up anyway and slid my thumb through the screen.

  "Hello?"

  "Cassidy, it's Zach."

"Oh Zach, how delightful, how have you been doing?" I asked, sneezing.

The thing about having cold is that you keep brushing it off until it gets worse and you can't help it anymore, but go to the doctor that you never wanted to go to.

  "Are you okay?"

"No not really," I mumbled and then placed my phone on the night stand, on speaker. "I kind of caught a cold, so I won't be able to see you today, like I promised."

"Remember, yesterday you told me that you hate seeing doctors?" He asked.

"Yeah," I sighed, trying to push my head ache away by rubbing my thumbs at the side of my head, which was definitely not helping. Laziness was definitely getting to me.

"Well, you're going to have to hate me today," he mumbled and then cut the line off.

One thing I wasn't sure about was a) I had no idea where he got my number from and b) I had absolutely no clue what he was talking about.

I decided not to stress over and it and just lay in bed, when I remembered that I am supposed to be seeing a client today at noon and so I called her mother and let her know that I am not feeling well and I will see her next week. She was kind enough to understand.

Not knowing when or how I dozed off, I slipped off bed and washed my face, walking over to door that was being banged on by a crazy someone. When I looked through the peep hole, I smiled. That crazy someone happened to be Zach.

"Sorry to wake you up, princess," he winked, coming in, brushing by my side whilst I looked at him wide eyes, mouth opened. He then turned around and noticed me staring and asked, "What?"

"You just bang on my door and brush in? I already hate you," I groaned.

"Come on now, don't be so grumpy, we are going to get you all healthy today," he said, raising his hands up a little, showing me the paper bags he was holding. There were about four, and I just hope, they were not medicines.

"No, they're not medicines. It's just some corn some, fruits and well you know, that stuff," he blushed and I winked at him, wondering how did he get to know that I thought they were medicines.

  "You thought out loud."

  "Oh."

He placed the bags on my kitchen counter and it was then that I noticed I hadn't washed the dishes. I wanted to excuse myself, explain something, but I couldn't. It was embarrassing, I was sick, I didn't do anything for days because of Jeremy and I had no good excuse for it.

He looked at me and then smiled, I didn't have it in me to do the same. I just frowned and looked back at the dishes, toppling over in the sink and groaned.

  "What?" he asked.

"Nothing, just let me do the dishes and then you can continue with whatever you wanted to do. Why are you skipping your classes anyway?" I asked him, walking towards the sink, rolling the sleeves of my sweater up.

"I'll handle it, Cassidy," Zach said, grabbing me by my wrists and staring me right in the eye. He turned around quickly, blushing. I smiled knowingly.

I knew the guy liked me, it was obvious and I didn't have the heart to tell him that I liked him too, but I couldn't right now. My thoughts are filled with Jeremy's betrayal and I've just met Zachary yesterday.

I pulled my hands off Zach's and wrapped it around his waist, whispering, "Thank You," into his chest. "Thank You for being here and everything," I said.

"It's the least I can do," he smiled.

I pulled away from our embrace and walked out of the kitchen, turning my head back and yelling, "I'm just going to be lazy on that bean bag and pick a movie or two whilst you do the dishes, poop!"

I could hear his laugh, the type of laugh only the rich socialites could perfect and suddenly, I wondered where did he get it from.

There weren't many things I knew about him. All I know is that he is as crazy as I am, we were at our most important year in University and here we are, stuck at my place. Me broken hearted, waiting for my corn soup and a movie and Zach, washing the mess I have made for the past three days.

Looking through the stack of CDs that I have, I picked out Shadow Recruit. I bought it last year as soon as it was released and hadn't watched it yet.

I placed it in the player and put the remote on my lap, waiting for Zach to join me.

"You ready?" I asked, looking at him from where I sat, on the floor, my back resting on the bean bag like a large pillow.

"Yeah. But Cass, I suggest you sit on the bean bag, not next to it, we don't want you getting worse now, do we?" He smiled gently. I glared at him, narrowing my eyes into slits, but did whatever I was told anyway because I knew that it was better for me.

"Zach?" I called out, looking behind me to find him looking at me with an emotion I couldn't quiet place a finger on. I snapped my fingers, knocking on the door of his thoughts and smiled. "You spaced out for a second there."

"Sorry," he mumbled, his cheeks going pink as he turned his head away.

I smiled at him once again and gave him a look of admiration. He was gorgeous, I'll give you that, but his personality competes with his looks in more ways than one could think of. He blushed easily and that was something I loved about him.

"What do your parents work as?" I asked, honestly curious. I stood up and walked to him, sitting on the couch cross legged. I placed the remote between us.

"It really surprises me on how clueless you are," he said, running a hand through his hair.

"You never told me, I am surprised how you," I emphasized the word and poked his chest with my finger, "expect me to know," I finished with a huff, pouting slightly.

He smiled lightly and then spoke up, "My mother has a quiet a few clothing lines and my father is an Hotelier, he owns the Anderson's residence all over the world."

I looked at Zach's face carefully and placed my hand on his cheek, making him look at me. He didn't look happy about it and I wanted to know why, but I knew that that was something he didn't want to talk about and so I left it behind and grabbed the remote that was between us, dropping my hand on my lap and playing the movie.

"Let's watch," I whispered, leaning closer to him and placing my head on his shoulder, looking at the screen.

We were at the part where Jack just rescued his fiance when my phone beeped, I looked at it and groaned. Zachary smiled sadly at me and held out his hand in front of me, I placed my phone on it and smiled back.

"You don't need to waste your time on him, he is not worth it."

I just nodded and placed my head back on his shoulder, watching the movie.

I was thankful that he was here and if he wasn't here I would have gotten into another argument with Jeremy which I was definitely not looking forward to.

We continued watching the movie and we watched another one after that, he dozed off. I left him on the couch, bringing him a pillow and a blanket and went to sleep myself, leaving the door open in case he needed anything.

I made a note of heating up the corn soup he got me first thing in the morning.
