(January 28th, 2015)

All I could think of right now were the bitter memories.

"Cass," he said, breathing out.

"Listen, Jeremy. I know I signed the contract and all, to be married to you and there is no way out, but I only did this because I was forced to and I had no other choice but this. You know I am over you and no matter the past. I am your friend and not your lover, I don't think kissing me is ever going to make me want you. I love Zachary and I want to be with him, but we can't be together and if I am stuck here with you, all I want to ask from you is to be faithful to me. After all you have done to me for the past five years, I am willing to live with you under one roof because my life depends on it. I will be your friend and that is all. I cannot trust you the way I used to. I don't think we will ever have anything going on." I said, proud of standing for my word and myself.

"You can't tell me last night meant nothing to you," out of everything I just told him, he picked that. Wow. He never really listens to anything I say.

"Okay, last night was good. Actually, it was fun. But that's all it was, we were drunk and it was our wedding night. There is nothing more to it," I grumbled, crossing my hands over my chest and raising an eyebrow, waiting for the confusion to wash itself off his face.

"No kids?" he asked, looking somewhat upset, a frown forming on his face. Which made me choke on my food and my eyes go wide.

"Our marriage is nothing but a contract, Jeremy. Nothing else," I said, making sure my point flows into him straight this time.

"I love you."

"You've said that too many times and I still love you, Jeremy but I won't fall for your tricks ever again. Not this time, not later. I'm waiting for you to mess this up so that I can get out of this trap, this horrible nightmare," I said, turning around and not looking back at him. I stomped into my room, well our room and locked the door behind me.

Picking up my phone, I dialed my dad's number and waited for him to pick up.

"Hello, dad," I said into the speaker, were more like snapped. I was still mad at him for forcing me into a marriage I did not want or even need, but of course, his company comes first and why did Jeremy's father have to be one of the most important people to work with my father? This universe has everything against me, it should be illegal.

"Hey my lovely daughter, how are you doing? How is Jeremy?" He asked, all happy. Of course he would be, this all is done for him and because of him.

"Just like in the contract, clear and signed," I sighed, looking at the ceiling, hoping for something that is impossible. I know being around Jeremy will only make things worse and my feeling, that I have closed up, written and bottled up will flow off all over again and he will pick me up and trash me and I will have to clean off the dirt of my shoulders as soon as he is done. It was always like that.

"Cassidy, this is for your own good. Tomorrow when I die, who is going to take over the company? You and Jeremy. You can't do this alone. You do not know business darling. What did I tell you in high school? Do as I say and everything will be better, but no you decide something against me all the time. You can't keep doing this to your family," he said, I could tell he was trying to be as calm as possible, but that wasn't the same case with me.

There was no way, I would ever agree with my father. He thinks I cannot run a business, little did he know I have one of my own. He thinks I cannot protect myself, little did he know work for a protection program. He knew nothing about me or about anything I do and for some reason, even if I have to suffer, I would keep it that way.

"Sure dad, that's what you think and let's keep it that way. Have a nice day," and with that I shut the phone before he could say anything else and switched it off, I put it on my nightstand and slipped all my clothes off, opening the door and walking down the whole in only bra and panties, I walked to my suitcase and pulled all my clothes out, I settled for shorts and a tank top and put the rest back inside.

"Jeremy, where is your suit case? I need to put all the clothes inside the closet or let me say the grand umm.. whatever you call it?" I asked.

He just walked up to me and said nothing, I raised my eyebrow at him, putting my hands on my hips, "Why do we need such a big house anyway? Can we move into something more.. umm comfortable? I want to feel like a woman not like a person whose mouth is covered with gold. It's not going to flatter me, Jeremy. Money doesn't work for me, I still can't believe I married you"

I wasn't meant to come off as rude as it but it just did and I can't get over the fact of what he has done, I know the forgive and forget crap everyone talks about but sometimes it really just doesn't work.

I have read so many books, including your famous John Green and there he mentioned that the only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive. But what if you have and it is not the only way? There is no way out of the labyrinth of suffering. Some people have done nothing and there is nothing to forgive for or ask for forgiveness and how is it supposed to help? It's like wanting to be somewhere else, but you can't get there because it is just not there. However, the only way to get to the place that doesn't exist, is to get out of the one that does.

All right, putting it that way doesn't seem to make much sense as I thought it would, but here is something I would try to explain. The earth, as to us, exists and it is a fact. It's not like we know that we are actually alive or just dreaming. So the earth exists and it does because it was made by god and it is a fact (for those who believe in god and for those who doesn't it might work differently for you). Anyway, you know that where you live does exists but many of you believe that heaven or maybe even hell does not exist and let us say that it doesn't.

Now, to get to a place that doesn't exist (heaven or hell), you need to get out of the one that does (earth), which is the process of dying.. and so is the same when trying to find a way out of the labyrinth of suffering.

"Cassidy.."

"Huh?"

"You still space out, don't you?" He said, coming closer and placing his hands on my waist, pulling me closer to his chest.

"Uhmm.." I mumbled, not knowing what else to say. Having him this close wasn't the best thing for me, but I just seem to change my mind here and there when being around him. Keeping distance was the best idea, well, before I married him. Stupid contract.

I found myself wrapping my arms around his neck and moved my face closer, our foreheads touching.

His hand moved to my cheek and I closed my eyes, thinking of the days that we were together and I was happy, a frown settled on my face as he touched my lips with his thumb.

"Don't frown, baby. It's not cute," He said, pressing his lips to mine. I moved my hand to his hair and pulled on it, making him groan. The pleasure in his voice was something I would do anything to hear all the time, I pressed my body closer to his and ran my tongue on his bottom lip.

His hands reached below my bottom, grabbing my thighs, I wrapped them around his waist and he pulled me towards our bedroom, placing my on the bed, his knees on my sides, leaving me no escape.

He places a kiss on my jaw and trails down my jawline, making me giggle.

"What?" He asked.

"Nothing," I replied, smiling widely at him.

"That was retarded," He muttered under his breath.

I frowned, remembering what he told me back in high school. I feel like hitting my head against the table, but I know it won't make me feel better or make things better.

"No, no, baby. That's not what I meant, sorry. I love every moment I spend with you, I do," He said, pulling me onto his lap and tangling his fingers into my hair, massaging my scalp.

"Okay, go get your stuff so that I can put it in the closet," I said, getting away from his grasp and off the bed, into the walk in closet. I brought my luggage along on the way.

I folded my clothes slowly and carefully, placing them right where I need them to be and hanging the rest. As Jeremy entered the walk in closet, I grabbed his clothes of the bag and showed him where and how I placed his things so that he won't be coming and looking for them when I am not around or something.

He helped me fold some of his clothes and shoved the rest of his boxers, after scolding him about his boxers, telling him to move so that I can do the rest and arguing about which channel we should watch, we ended up on the sofa my feet on his face and his knees on my stomach with his hands all over my face, no we weren't making out, we were exhausted and how we ended up in a situation like this only god would know, I felt like we were tied in a knot and couldn't move anymore.

"Let's watch The Vow?" I asked, hopefully.

"No, not one of those sappy crappy movies. I am not watching anything like that with you, you end up crying, I remember the first time we went to the movies together, don't even get me started on how emotional you got!" He complained, grinning like a fool.

I smacked his arm and he groaned.

"What do you suggest we watch then, eh?" I asked, looking at him, my eyebrows raised.

"X m-"

"Hell no!" I said, cutting him off.

"Pirates of the Caribbean," I suggested.

"Under one condition,"

"What is it?" I asked.

"You will not say a word about how you want to marry Johnny Depp or how gorgeous you think he is, or whatever it is that comes to your mind. Deal?"

"Deal," I said, giving him my hadn't to shake, he looked at it weirdly first but shook it anyway and I grinned, putting in the CD and sitting back onto the sofa.

An hour into the movie, not words has been spoken. I decided against popcorn and Jeremy was too lazy to make it so nothing but the sound from the movie, was up.

"Can I put my arm over your shoulder or should I do the Taylor Lautner move?" He asked sheepishly.

I looked at him, raising an eyebrow and replied smugly, "Hmm.. do the Lautner thing,"

He yawned and then placed his arm over my shoulder, pulling me closer to him. I snuggled closer into him and stayed silent, watching Johnny Depp running around the ship yelling that he's got a jar of dirt. One of my favorite parts.

I heard Jeremy stiffed a chuckle and knew that he, as well, found it amusing.

I wrapped my hands around his waist and placed my head on his chest. I could feel my eyelids getting heavier and I struggled holding my eyes open and watching the movie.

I felt someone hands under my legs and one on my neck. I opened my eyes slightly to see Jeremy concentrating on where he was carrying me to, it was dark.

"Are you planning to kill me in my sleep and take over my father's company?" I asked sleepily.

"No, the contract was just an excuse to marry you,"

I knew that his words will be forgotten as soon as I woke up, in a state like this, talking to me will never make any sense.
