synopsis

For his entire life, Regulus Black saw in shades of things. Nothing was completely right or wrong, or light or dark. There was an infinite of possibilities for the boy to explore, preferably by painting. But Regulus was told to hide it, that the artist inside him was a disease, that it was wrong.

But during his fifth year at Hogwarts, Regulus takes notice of an odd girl that prefers a paintbrush over her wand. Intrigued by her, he silently studies the girl, trying to find what made her wrong, too.

Little did he know that Ivy Mulligan was watching him right back. More than watching; observing him, painting him. But she only ever painted Regulus in shades of black.

-•- Later, he finds that Ivy had a collection of paintings of Regulus, all of them in only shades of black because she finds him to always be in the shadows in the back of class

-•- Ivy is popular, but she and Regulus never really interacted before this year

-•- Around Christmas, have the two finally have a conversation. It can be something small, but make it enough so that they gradually become friends, and reveal their mutual interest in each other by the end of the year
