Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.

This statement stops holding true when the gap between the muggle and wizarding world widens with the onset of technology.

What was once a dreamworld for muggleborns now becomes a prison, and they find it difficult to get used to the old-fashioned quills and lanterns, and the lack of internet.

Hugo Weasley, always a lover of muggle things, thanks to grandpa Arthur, finds this very disturbing. After striking up a conversation with a rather uninterested muggleborn, he decides to change things at Hogwarts. Gathering all muggleborns and encouraging them to share their things with the purebloods, he tries to unite the school once again.

Details:

• Next generation era.

• I'm imagining the muggleborns being less interested in magic in this era than they were in the Golden Trio era, because of the lack of technology in the wizarding world.

• Hugo joins Hogwarts in 2018 or 2019, and since a lot of children get addicted to smartphones at a young age, they have a hard time getting used to the ancient ways of Hogwarts.

• Muggleborns usually remain quiet and reserved, and it puts Hugo off because he knows how happy his mother was when she learnt about magic.

• You can make about two (or more) muggleborn OCs. Hugo talks to one of them and inquires why they are not enjoying the wizarding world.

• Soon, muggleborns start bringing several muggle toys to Hogwarts and other students start playing with them.

• The hoverboard is rather popular and even purebloods start moving around in them.

• I'm not sure whether hoverboards would work in Hogwarts, but it's battery powered, and they used radio in the books so..

• To make it more realistic, please don't omit house prejudice completely. There still will be Slytherins who wouldn't readily befriend muggleborns, and there still will be Gryffindors who wouldn't talk to Slytherins.

• But the point of this story is to unite the two worlds together using fun muggle toys.

• I'm imagining a humorous, light hearted story, but you can take whichever route you prefer.
