Chapter 32
Please take a few minutes to read the A/N at the end!
February 6, 2019
"Have you seen Drew? We're supposed to be meeting up for lunch." My eyes avert away from Taylor, scoring the halls for a familiar set of hazel eyes.
"No, I haven't seen him today, sorry." Taylor mutters her response, a deep frown on her lips.
I turn to face her with a raised eyebrow. "What's up with you?"
Arms crossed, Tay leans against the locker beside mine and observes the people passing.
"Nothing." Her reply sounded almost uneasy.
With a hand on my hip, I send her a pointed look. "Now we both know that's not true. What is it Tay?" I tried to keep my tone as soft as I could.
She's become touchy to certain topics lately and I had to make sure to tread carefully around them.
A firm shake of her head told me I wouldn't be getting any answers today.
With one final glance at the crowd of students, I sigh profoundly and loop my arm through Taylor's.
"Alright, let's get to lunch then."

It wasn't until we were fifteen minutes into lunch that Drew decided to make his appearance.
Him being the cocky egotistical boy he was, made sure to grab the attention of almost all of the girls in the cafeteria.
He ran a hand through his hair and I smiled to myself.
When he saw me, he grinned widely and immediately made his way over to me. When he's a few feet away, he grips onto my hand and pulls me out of my seat, causing me to look longingly at my half eaten cheeseburger.
I didn't get a chance to greet him before he crashed his lips onto mine, a smile tugging at the corners of my mouth at the greeting.
I couldn't help but feel empowered. I was dating the guy that almost every girl lusted after. I don't know what this sudden confidence was, but I allowed myself to bask in it.
Wrapping my arms around Drew's neck, I pull him closer, not wanting to cut everyone's show short.
At least that's what I told myself.
It's not until someone dramatically cleared their throat that we broke apart.
Glancing behind me, I saw Will smirking dumbly while Luke just shook his head, a small smile painting his lips.
A blush slowly creeps onto my cheek's as I take my seat at the circular lunch table, patting the vacant seat to my right.
Drew easily sat down, a content sigh leaving his lips.
"Hey, Callie, Taylor." The friendly smile Andrew offered made something tingle in my stomach.
"Hi, Drew," Cal answers, a matching smile on her lips too.
When I looked over at Taylor, she only offered him a tight smile before she turned her attention to Will.
"So, where were you?" I shifted in my seat so I was facing Drew as best as I could.
It took him a few seconds to realize I asked him something, but when he did, his smile slowly dropped.
"Oh, I was retaking a stupid test for Math. No biggie." He shrugged it off like it was nothing.
He was right. It was nothing.
Nodding, I go to take a bite of my cheeseburger but I'm left empty handed by the time my hand is inches away from my mouth. "Hey!" I whine, snapping my head in Drew's direction who had just taken a very large bite of my lunch.
He moans lightly before handing the burger back to me. "That might be the best burger I've ever tasted. A little mustard wouldn't hurt thought," he teased, winking slyly.
My lip automatically curls up in disgust. "Mustard is just about the only thing that makes any and everything very worse."
Drew mocks hurt, placing a hand over his heart. "Now that's one thing we don't agree on, babe."
Scoffing lightly, I turn back to my lunch, deciding to finish my fries before the hungry guy next to me does.
The rest of lunch goes by quickly, all three couples talking casually with one another.
Yet, Callie and I still didn't miss how Taylor was much, much quieter than usual.

At the end of the day, I said goodbye to all of my friends before climbing into my car. I had a few interviews lines up so I had to go home and get ready. Callie's aunt also wanted to speak with me so that was another place I had to cross off on my checklist for tonight.
I sped out of the parking lot as cautiously as I could before pulling out onto the road.
Looking over at the dashboard, I start to tap my fingers against the steering wheel in anticipation. It was 3:26 PM and my first interview was set for 4:15 which didn't give me a lot of time to get ready.
As I stopped behind a polished expensive looking sports car waiting for the light to turn green, the repeated ping on my phone goes off indicating me of a new text message or in this case, multiple texts.
Glancing at the stoplight, I quickly pull my phone out of my bag and read the messages.
