Chapter 15

December 24, 2018

I shake my head as I watch Callie furiously type on her phone. Everyone is here now and we're all talking to each other while we wait for our food. That doesn't include Callie nor Taylor. They're too busy arguing over social media when they are literally a foot away from each other.

Without another second to waste, I snatch Callie's phone out of her hand. "What the hell?" she snaps, turning to glare at me.

"Callie, Taylor. Outside. Now," I bark, looking over at Taylor who sits with her arms crossed. None of the other girls seem to notice except for Abbie. I shake my head standing up from the chair I was sitting in.

"Now," I bark once more. They both stand from their seats and make their way out of the building, me in the middle.

I'm slapped with a cold breeze when I exit the cozy restaurant. I glare between the both of them. "What the hell is going on?"

They both keep quiet, keeping their gaze on the ground. "Taylor?"

She slowly looks up, rolling her eyes.

"Callie here thinks it's okay to call me out over social media for something so stupid."

Callie whips her head to the side, staring wide eyed at Taylor.

"What? You're forgetting to mention the part where you called Abbie and Sara "little ones" because they're what, three years younger than you? If you think about it, you're the one that acts like a child." Callie spits out, raising her voice as she does.

Taylor stares at her with her mouth open. "You did not just say that!"

Callie crosses her arms, looking directly into her eyes. "I sure did. You know it's true."

Taylor smiles, taking a step back. "You know what? I'm not about to argue about this." She turns to look at me. "I'm done talking." And with that, she marches back inside, leaving Callie and I standing in silence.

"Callie," I say, looking at her with a frown. "Please, just apologize. It's Christmas Eve. You two shouldn't be fighting. I love you both, and I don't want to see you ignoring each other."

"Please?" I whisper softly.

Callie sighs. "Fine. But I'll talk to her after we eat. Deal?"

I smile, pulling her into a hug. "I love you Cal."

She hugs me tighter murmuring, "I love you too Lona."

The rest of the meal was spent laughing and talking. Taylor and Callie still weren't talking yet, but they did talk to the other girls.

"Hey, are you going to Stephanie's party tonight?" Mia asked, smiling brightly at me.

Nodding, I raise an eyebrow. "Of course. Are you?"

She rests her elbows on the table. "Yep. Cora and I are supposed to help decorate at 2:00."

I nod, finishing off the rest of my coffee.

"Is Andrew going?" Cora buts in, tossing her auburn hair over her shoulder.

"Yeah, I think so." Pulling away from the table, I pull out my phone. It's nearing 12:30 and I still need to get ready.

"Hey, I'm gonna head home to get ready. It was great catching up with you girls."

Abbie and Sara stood up as well. "Yeah, we're gonna head out too."

After hugging everyone goodbye and paying our half of the bill, Taylor, Callie and I make our way to my car. I was the one to bring them here and their cars were at my house so they had no choice but to come along.

I looked in the back where Callie was staring out of the window. Coughing loudly, I say, "I have to stop at Sephora for a few things. You can wait in the car." I catch Callie's eye, mouthing the word, "apologize."

Five minutes later I pull into the parking lot. To be honest, I didn't know if Sephora would be open. Thankfully, it was for another half hour.

I quickly dart out of the car with my wallet in hand, leaving the key in the ignition. When I entered the warm familiar store, I realized I really did need to pick up a few things.

"Hi, welcome to Sephora!" A blonde girl greeted from behind the counter.

Smiling, I make my way down the aisle carefully scanning over everything with a bright smile. This was my happy place.

Ten minutes later, I walked out of the store with more makeup than I had intended to get. I kept reminding myself that it was for the party.

But somethings I had bought just because it looked pretty.

When I hopped in the car, the girls were laughing playfully.

"So," I draw out, passing the bags to Taylor. "You made up?"

They both smiled. Taylor peeked into the bag. "Damn, Malona. I didn't think you needed fifty dollars worth of makeup.

Peeling out of the parking lot, I smirk. "Actually, I bought eighty-two dollars and thirty-six cents worth of makeup."

Callie snickered, glancing over Taylor's shoulder.

"Don' worry," I start, glancing at her for a split second. "I'll share. For tonight."

Done! I'm sorry, not much happened in this part. But wait until the next chapter or two ;)

Fun fact: I've never shopped at Sephora. *Gasp* I know! :D
