Chapter 11: The Real Party;Part II
A sizable amount of people groan, finding their way through the front door. Christina and I head down to the basement, where there are a few supplies I know are for drinking games. I got this.
Everyone gathers, in a sort of oblong circle. Christina sits on my right side, Tobias on my left. On either of their sides are Marlene and Uriah, and beside Uriah, Drew. Tobias got the word around to our friends about Drew, so he is getting a tidal wave of evil eye's at the moment.
When the drunken teenagers have calmed down, somewhat, Zeke stands in the center, a sloppy mess, "Hello, my fellow not pansycakes. As you already should know, I'm Zeke, the current man of this house."
Uriah doesn't object, instead, is more fascinated by the hem of his shirt. Drunk idiot.
"We have a few games planned, and I'd like to start with a classic. Spin the bottle."
There are a few cheers, and I finally bring myself to look at who sits around us. There is our usual group, Lauren, Lynn, Marlene, Uriah, Zeke, Shauna, Will, Christina, Tobias and myself, but there are a lot of others. Thotty, Nita and Cara sit together, with Drew, Peter and Eric grouped together next to them. There are some different faces, Edward, Myra, Robert, Susan, Johanna and Al. There are other students, like Matthew, David, who's an egotistical asshole, Erin and Tessa
Zeke sucks down a bottle of beer, and places it in the middle. There's a total of twenty-six of us down here, and I don't think the Pedrad's anticipated that many coming down. Still, we continue with the game, Zeke spinning first.
Just to his luck, it lands on Shauna. They end up having a make out session in the middle of the group, until people start throwing things at them. Shauna pulls away, being sober, her cheeks are bright red. She spins the bottle, and lands on Lynn.
"Just, don't think anything of it." Lynn says, giving her a short kiss on the lips.
They are sisters, nobody expected anything weird. Lynn spins the bottle, landing on Drew, and she audibly gags.
"What's the penalty for not kissing?" She asks.
"Take a shot, what else?" Zeke responds, rolling a shot glass and a bottle of some strange alcohol towards her.
She shrugs, filling it to the brim, and downs the shot. The glass parts from her lips, and she scrunches up her face, "That's sour as fuck, what is that?"
Zeke shrugs, "I found it in Mom's liquor cabinet."
Lynn stares at him with a complete 'WTF' expression, wondering what mystery drink she just had.
Drew grabs the bottle, "It wouldn't be that bad to kiss me, you know."
"Yes it would!" Lynn, Christina, and I all yell.
He puts up his arms in defense, "Sorry ladies, stop playing hard to get!"
He spins the bottle, landing on me of all people. Tobias grabs my arm, and gives me a reassuring look.
"Can the one he lands on take a shot?" I groan.
Zeke probably doesn't remember why I don't want to kiss Drew, so he shakes his head no.
Drew walks across the circle, and falls down in front of me. I suck down the rest of the punch in my cup, knowing it will take a lot to get through this.
I lean forward, barely pressing my lips against his. My mind tries it's best to push away the memories, but they won't go away. That was the worst five seconds of my life.
I pull away from him and spit, making a few others laugh. My hand grabs at the bottle, wrapping around the neck. I put a hand on each end, and spin it. It goes around dozens of times, before finally setting on... Peter. Great.
I scrunch up my nose, but still advance towards him. He has this sort of permanent smirk, that makes me want to slap him all the time. He points to his cheek, "I don't want to get my ass kicked, so give me a sweet kiss right there."
I give him a thankful look, and kiss his cheek. Wow, I guess Peter isn't always and asshole!
He grabs the bottle from the center, and it lands on Nita. Of course, she tries to pull him into a full on make out session, but he resists.
She pouts, but still continues the game, landing on Marlene. Who throws up. Nita freaked out, and ran away, bringing her little minions with her.
"Well, that's a way to get rid of them." I whisper to Tobias, making him snort.
"Since we kind of lost the place, why don't we just move on to the next game." Zeke says, his voice a slurred mess.
While he explains the rules to the newcomers, I teleport upstairs, refill my drink, and go back down. Zeke is handing out a bunch of plastic shot glasses, which must mean we are doing that version, instead of fingers.
I grab mine, which looks like a miniature red solo cup, and fill it with another random alcohol. Uriah grabbed some bottles from the counter upstairs, and now, every few people are sharing one. There would be no way we could pass around a single bottle for the game.
I'm pretty sure our's is flavored vodka, and it has a sweet undertone in the scent.
"Since I am the man of the house, I start. Never have I ever...been a virgin." Zeke starts.
Robert, Myra, Tessa and Erin all take shots. We are all a bunch of teenagers, what did he expect?
We go around the circle, and Shauna says, "Never have I ever sung karaoke."
Tobias, Zeke, Uriah, Will, Marlene, Edward, Drew, Peter and Tessa all take shots.
That's one that I'm glad to say I've refused to do. Tessa goes next, "Never have I ever been seventeen."
Most of the group takes one, and I am one of the few younger of the group, like Uriah and Marlene.
"Never have I ever been blonde."
I take a shot of the strong liquor, and refill my shot glass.
"Never have I ever been below six foot."
That takes up a lot of the group as well, which also means I have to take another shot.
"Never have I ever had a T is my name." Drew says, glaring at me.
I groan, taking another. My body is finally starting to feel the affects of two vodka filled punch cups and a few shots. A few people glace over at me, knowing Six doesn't have a "T" in it. Big woop, it could still be thousands of different names.
"Never have I ever kissed Six Prior." Peter says.
He didn't kiss me, so he doesn't have to take a shot. Drew takes one, Tobias takes one, and Christina takes one. That was an accident, we just fell on each other. I haven't kissed myself, it isn't physically possible, so I don't have to take another shot.
"Never have I ever been out of the country." Eric says.
I watch as a good half of the group takes shots, I've personally been all over the country, but not out of it.
"Never have I ever been white." Johanna says, laughing.
Everyone but her, Christina, and the Pedrad's take a shot, laughing at her. She is constantly making jokes about the white girls at our school, and half the time, we make fun of ourselves. She's just playing around, and we all know it.
"Never have I ever been to California." Susan says innocently, probably not realizing I was targeted.
I take one, along with Drew, Johanna and Tessa.
Roberts adds, "Never have I ever missed a high five."
Literally everybody in the circle takes one except him, making a lot of us laugh. My body is beginning to feel lighter, looser, and I let go of my stern, Six look.
After a few more rounds, I've has a total of twelve shots, plus whatever punch I drank. I find myself bursting into random fits of giggles and cracking ridiculous jokes.
"Alright alright, I think we've done enough of this." Uriah laughs, getting shouts of agreement from the group, which has now dwindled down to twenty.
We all move closer together, tripping over our own feet. I rely heavily on leaning against Tobias, who is not as drunk as I am. I laugh, playing with his huge hands. It's so strange how a guy has such huge hands, and girls have tiny, feminine hands. It's not fair, I think.
"Alright, I'd like to give the honor of starting the games to my dear friend, Six Prior." Zeke says, pointing to me.
"Thank you, it's such an honor!" I gush sarcastically, "I'd like to start with.... My lovely boyfriend. Number boy, truth or dare? "
He pushes my drunken body upward, "Truth."
"Why do you like me?" I ask.
A few people, "Ooooh." Like it's a hard question.
He shrugs, "You are kind, beautiful, smart, honest, brave, selfless... need I go on?"
I scrunch up my nose, "Well why do you really like me, why don't you date Christina or someone else who is really nice?"
"Drunk Six, you already asked your question. I'd like to tell you that when you will actually remember it." Toby says, holding me up.
I laugh, "Fine...wait!"
"What?"
I giggle, "That's why you like me!"
He scrunches up his eyebrows, making them look funny, "What?"
"You're not very nice either!" I laugh, wrapping my arms around him.
He shakes his head, still smiling. Good.
"Moving on... Peter. Candor or Dauntless?" Tobias says.
"Dauntless, of course." He smirks.
"I dare you to go jump into the pool out back."
Peter stands up, "That's easy."
A few of us meander upstairs, so we can watch him jump in. I am mostly leaning on Tobias, feeling a little dizzy. Peter takes off his pants and shirt, tossing them on the ground so they don't get wet. He walks towards the dicing board, shaking his hands.
"Stop being such a pansycake and jump already!" I shout, getting cheers from the others who followed him.
He shakes his head, breaths out, and dives sloppily into the pool. His head immediately bobs up, and he screams, "Why the hell is there ice in the pool?"
I burst into a fit of giggles, laughing hard.
"I saw somebody throw cooler water in there earlier, that must have melted and made the pool cold." Marlene shouts.
Peter shivers violently as he crawls from the pool, and Drew hands him a towel. The rest of us find our way downstairs, filling the circle back in. Peter comes back after a few minutes of dawdling, a towel around his neck and clothes back on.
"Thanks for that, asshole." He sneers at Tobias.
"Don't be such a dick." I spit, throwing a block of ice at his head.
He dodges it, and shoots me a death glare, "I did you a solid, Prior, don't push it."
I ignore his nasty comment, and instead focus on the puffy fabric at the hem of my dress.
"Tris she's going." Christina whispers, grabbing my attention.
I look up, watching Johanna walk up to Eric.
"What was the dare?" I ask, still dazed.
"She has to kiss Eric for twenty seconds, no pulling away, no spitting. If she can't she has to take off an item of clothing." Christina explains.
I watch, fighting of laughs, as she presses her lips to Eric's. We all count down.
"20...19...18...17."
Johanna starts fidgeting.
"16...15...14...13...12."
Eric tries to deepen it, but Johanna slaps him without breaking their lip lock.
"11...10...9...8..."
Johanna pulls away, gasping, "His mouth tastes like tuna and ass!"
Every bursts out laughing, while Eric cowers down.
"Sorry, I had a tuna fish sandwich."
Johanna rolls her eyes, returning to her seat. She takes off her shirt, and luckily has a tank top on under it.
"Alright, what's his face with the orange hair, C or D?"
"Dauntless, and my name is Drew." He scowls.
She ignores him, "Okay Carrot Top, I dare you to go to the house next door, and kiss whoever answers."
Drew stands up, hesitates, then plops back down, tossing away his shirt, "I am not going to kiss a random stranger."
"Pansycake." I mumble.
He smirks, "Oh what, Six, like you don't want to see me shirtless?"
I scrunch up my nose, "Ew, no. I only like seeing Tobias shirtless."
Tobias chuckles, "That's my girl."
"Well then, Six, truth or dare." Drew states.
I shrug, "Dare."
"Okay then, I dare you to play seven minutes in heaven with one person, from spin the bottle."
I think for a second, there is always that five percent chance I will land on Drew, but I'll take my chances.
"I'll do it." I agree, grabbing a beer bottle from the floor.
"Are you sure?" Tobias mouths, watching me reach towards the middle of the floor.
I nod, grab each end of the bottle, and spin. It revolves a few times, before settling down on...Edward. I shrug, standing up, and we go into the guest bedroom of the basement.
"Use protection!" Uriah calls, laughing.
I roll my eyes, shutting the door.
"So, I am actually too afraid of your killer boyfriend to do this, wanna dance?" Edward laughs.
I giggle, pulling out my phone, "That sounds fun!"
I turn on a random playlist, and we dance and twirl together in a drunken mess. I bounce up and down, my feet tired.
"Come on, I think it's almost done." Edward says, turning off the music.
I wipe the sweat from my head, laughing again, "That was fun, thanks for not being an asshole, Ed."
He gives me a hug, "You're welcome, I was planning on asking out Myra anyways."
"Times up!" Uriah yells, banging on the door, "Clean up after yourselves."
"Don't be a dick!" I yell back, swinging open the door.
He laughs, "You two look out of breath..."
Tobias glares at me, but I roll my eyes, "We were dancing you pervert."
Uriah, Edward and I all return to our seats. The rounds seem to meld together in my vision, people kissing others, running in the street, pouring ice on themselves, it's all a blur.
"Hellur? Six?" Christina snaps in my face.
"What? What did I miss?" I shake my head.
"The Pedrad's are going to kick out the others, and we are heading to Dauntless Diner. You coming?" She pulls me up by my arm, and I stumble to steady.
"I guess I will, but won't we look like a mess?"
Christina laughs, "Sure will, but you'll look like a hot mess."
I giggle, looking around for Tobias.
"Fouurrr, come get your hot mess girlfriend!" I sing, stumbling around.
Wait, Why am I calling out a number?
Oh yeah, that number is my boyfriend.
"Tris, maybe we should skip out on the diner." Tobias says, grabbing me from behind.
I giggle, turning around, "No, I want to."
I lean up, and press my lips to his. His kiss is sweet, but still kind of tastes like beer. He pushes me down, breaking our lip lock.
"That was lame. Okay, no, it wasn't, but..."
I lean up again, trying to kiss Toby again, but he pushes me down, "Why are you acting like a lunatic?"
"That's not very nice of you. I'm just in a good mood, that's all. I had a lot of fun drinks, who cares? And now I really want to kiss you, so if you could just relax—"
"I'm not going to kiss you." He says, crossing his arms, "We should head upstairs."
"Come on."
I don't move, just stand there, sort of fascinated with the poofy fabric of my dress. It so fluffy, and distracting.
"Oh for God's sake, I'll just carry you." He swings me into his arms, bridal style, making me giggle.
I discover, it feels nice when the air runs through my feet, so I start swinging them back and forth.
"Is she that drunk?" Christina squeaks, looking as impaired as I am.
She is stumbling, laughing at nothing particular.
Tobias nods, "We are going to turn in for the night."
Christina laughs, "You are so protective, and cute..."
"Mine!" I shout, grabbing Toby's chest.
Christina laughs, grabbing at Will, "And this is mine." She yawns, "Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to turn in for the night."
Tobias nods at her, and starts walking upstairs. I laugh as each step he takes bounces me up and down.
"Calm down Tris." He mumbles, getting to the guest floor.
I mock him, "Calm down Tobias!"
He looks down at me, raising an eyebrow, "Are you sure you didn't get some hallucinogen in your drink?"
I bust out laughing, almost making him drop me, "Of course not! It just put me in a good mood, that's all."
He shakes his head, kicking open our door with my feet. The second he sets me on the bed, my mind is taken to the sweet world of sleep.
