Tris POV

"Tris come on we're going to be late for the welcoming gala." Chris says while knocking on the bathroom door of our apartment. Once a year Dauntless uses welcoming the initiates as an excuse to dress up nicely. It is the one night everyone dresses in nice gowns and suites. 

I walk out  of the bathroom and Chris gasps.

 "You look amazing! Four is going to freak. I blush and look at my hands. Tonight I am wearing a black strapless dress that goes to the floor, my hair is pulled back in a neat bun and Chris did my make up light but enough to make my eyes pop.

"Thanks Chris." She smiles and we head down to the pit. 

"Where's  Will?" I ask while we walk down one of the long hallways. 

"He said He'd meet us down in the pit." We continue down the hall until we hear the loud music. 

"I'm so ready for this! I've heard stories about these galas they start out all nice but once midnight hits it's like a whole new group and it gets crazy." I laugh. 

"That makes total sense with this faction." I say as we walk into the pit. Immediately my eyes find Tobias. He looks amazing in his all black suite. 

It's like we gravitate to each other because next thing I know I am wrapped in his arms. "You look breath taking tonight Tris." He whispers in my ear. I blush at his words. 

"Thank you. But I think it's you who looks amazing. I swear every girl in here is starring at you."

 "Well Tris you must not have looked around you when you walked in. Every head turned your way. I think they are finally realizing that you aren't a stiff anymore." 

"There's Dauntless' new power couple!" Some one yells behind me. I turn around and see Uriah and Zeke walking our way. 

"Hey guys." I say as I adjust the way I'm standing so I'm facing their way. 

"Hey Tris, Four. We're having a small part after this yall want to come?" Zeke asks. I shrug and look up at Four.

 "Sure, why not." Zeke and Uriah cheer. 

"Make sure you wear layers, we're playing candor or dauntless." Uriah says before running off. 

"What's candor or dauntless?" I ask while turning back to Four.

"It's a game, someone asks you candor or dauntless and depending on your answer you get asked a question. Dauntless being a dare and candor being you have to answer a question truthfully." He explains. 

"Then why do we wear layers?"

"Because if you don't want to do a dare or answer a question you take a layer of clothing off." I nod. 

"Now come on lets go get something to drink." He says while dragging me to a table across the room. I pick up a glass and take a sip. 

"So Mr.Four what job do you think I should pick?" 

"Well I'd love to be selfish and say work in the control room with me but I think you should pick whatever sounds like a good job. I could see you working with Tori in the tattoo shop." I nod. "Maybe I'll be an initiate instructor with you and then I'll work as Max's second hand or something. I heard that Eric got arrested for conspiracy against the factions." I say and Four nods.

"You'd be amazing as a Dauntless leader." He says while kissing my lips. 

"Let's dance." I say while putting my glass down. He takes my hand and we walk to the middle of the dance floor. A song called 'Beating heart' from before comes on and we sway to the song. 

"How do you like your apartment with Christina?" I shrug. 

"We finished moving in this morning but I'm still trying to make it feel homey." I say with a sigh. 

"Well you know you're always welcome at my place." I smile. 

"Thank you for making this faction home for me , Tobias." I whisper in his ear. 

"It is no problem Tris. You make this place feel like home again for me." We both smile and continue to dance. 

Next thing we know Zeke comes over and tells us the gang is getting ready to go to his apartment. 

"I'll meet you at your apartment once you're ready." Tobias says. I nod and walk to my apartment. 

I can't  wait for tonight it's going to be my first big dauntless party.
