Chapter 51

When I finally arise from a rather uncomfortable nap, Blake is reading a book next to me. I yawn, stretching out my tired limbs. "Good morning sleeping beauty." He whispers, kissing my head.

I smile sweetly, returning the favor, "Why aren't you asleep?"

"I stayed up to watch everyone, I'll keep you safe no matter what." He murmurs, caressing my cheek bone. I grin giddily, and pull his lips to my own. Blake always has the same flavor, sweet like honey. The two of us are interrupted by a loud tap on a metal cart, causing us both to turn around.

A flight attendant with a warm smile stands there, "Excuse me, would either of you two like a beverage?"

I sit back into my own seat, "Alright, could I have two waters?"

She pulls out two cooled bottles from the bottom of the cart, and hands them to us, "Here you go lovelies!"

I twist open the lid and take a quick sip of the drink, then set it down in the rather small cup holder. Blake yawns, laying back in his seat, "I need a..." He trails off, his head falling slightly to one side.

Shai taps my shoulder, grinning like an idiot, "You two are just, adorable!"

I laugh with red cheeks, lightly punching her arm, "It's not a big deal Shai."

She giggles, "Fine, be stubborn. But I for one know how close you two are."

I roll my eyes, still smiling, "Where are we right now, anyways?"

"Almost near the island, we're an hour out from the airport." She explains.

Hearing how close we are to the reality of this vacation makes me bubbly with excitement, "Where are we staying? Who's staying together?"

Shai wiggles her eyebrows and winks, "Couples with couples. They're doors in between every two rooms though."

I sigh, a little bit of privacy would've been a nice think to have, "I guess that's fine."

Shai pats my back, "Maybe something magical will happen." Her eyebrows wiggle suggestively.

I scoff, slapping her head, "I'm not stupid, Shai. Stop being such a teenager!" She laughs at me, "You have no idea Nat."

------------------------------------

"Attention passengers, we are beginning our descent. We will be on ground in fifteen minutes, please turn off all devices and make sure you're buckled. We will bring around trash bags for your convenience, I hope you enjoyed flying with us!" The attendant announces, waking up the remaining sleeping passengers.

"Are we landing already?" Blake murmurs, sitting up.

I smirk, "Yes, sleeping beauty, buckle in!"

He does so, securing the buckle. I sigh, "Aren't you excited?"

"Of course, who wouldn't want two weeks of waking up with you by my side every night?" He chuckles, causing blood to rise up on my cheeks.

I laugh awkwardly, "I mean, I am pretty hot."

"That doesn't matter, I love you no mat-"

"Guys!" Shai squeals, interrupting the sweet moment, "Look out the window!"

We all gawk at the sight as the islands come into view. The water is beautiful, with scenic cliffs and beautiful nature everywhere. The plane begins to rumble a bit, and I tense up, "I've n-never liked the landings."

Blake shakes his head, and gives me a kiss on the cheek, "Calm down Natalie, I have you."

I let out a deep breath, trying to relax as much as possible, "Whatever you say."

Blake laughs, lightly squeezing my hand, "Isn't it nice, though? Being somewhere where you don't have to worry about the buildings and people, just being in the air?"

I nod, a smile curling at my lips, "I see what your saying, it's relaxing. The stress of reality is too much for me."

"Well maybe when we're older together, and we have our own family, we can just keep away all of the stress."

I stiffen, drawing in a breath. Is... Is he implying that we will always be together? That we will grow up and have our own family? I mean, maybe I myself have always wished for that. Of course I've hoped, but there was always a thought itching in the back of my mind that I might be temporary for Blake.

No, I simply can't think like that.

We've been through so much together. My coma, his family, normal stresses, and we've always pulled through no matter the circumstance. We always are together because we know we will find comfort in one another, and that's something that can't be replaced. Now, I know, and have never been more sure of anything in my life.

He has always loved me, and I will always love him.

---------------

Holy time skip batman!

2 years later: Graduation

"I am now proud to present, our CHS graduating class of 2018!" Our principal announces, his strong voice echoing through the entire park, where it is held.

I scream, while throwing my cap in the air with the rest of the students. The tassles whip around in the wind, a surreal moment in this huge mess of kids. Blake grabs me from behind, making me giggle on instinct.

I turn around, smiling giddily, "We made it baby!"

"We made it!" He exclaims, then pulls me into a passionate kiss. I lean up, on my tip toes, and don't dare to break away.

"Ehem?" Blake's mother pops up behind us, a signal to pull away from one another. In her arms she holds his new baby sister, Kylie. His stepdad walks up behind her, smiling with pride.

Eliza, Ashlen, Mom, Dad and Carter run over and pull me into a huge group hug. I smile, "This is perfect! All of you, everything!"

Eliza and Ashlen pull me down for hugs, although they aren't that short.  The girls are going into their first year of school, it's insane! They're growing up way too fast. "I love you Nat!" Eliza exclaims, gripping me tightly. I laugh, gladly hugging the twins, "I love you guys too!"

Carter waddles over to me, "You pway when oo gone?"

I laugh, "I'll come home every chance I get, the school isn't too far away." He reaches up, so I pick up his small frame and squeeze with a hug. I feel something cold as Carter pats my back, and squeal.

"Carter! Stop freezing my back!" I laugh, making him melt it off. He waddles over to the girls, who are playing with my graduation hat that fell back to the ground.

I turn over, and face Mom and Dad. Almost immediately, tears begin to fill my eyes. "Mom... Dad..." I croak, engulfing them in hugs. Their proud tears are making me feel better, like this is just one step in having a better life.

"No more crying, this is supposed to be joyful!" I half laugh, pulling back from them.

"I'm just so proud of my baby girl!" Mom cries, hugging me once more.

"We still have a while till I leave, Mom! It'll be alright."

Dad grips my hand by surprise, and twirls me around. I giggle, turning to face him. "Daddy... I don't know what I'm going to do without you!" I cry, hugging him again, harder this time.

He laughs half-heartedly, "I love you so much, princess."

"I love you too." I pull back, giving him a kiss on his scruffy cheek, his short beard tickling me.

After a few minutes of dawdling around with friends and family, Blake and I run over to our school-run graduation party. I take off my gown and hide it underneath a sink, in a duffel bag my friends and I hid. My dress is knee length, the top a simple white bodice with lace sleeves, and the bottom a frilly, blue tulle skirt. My shoes are blue as well, tall pumps.

When I step out from the bathroom, Blake is smirking, "You look gorgeous..." his lips touch mine almost immediately, such a teenage boy. I only give him satisfaction for a seconds, before announcing, "Let's go find our table."

Blake groans, but still follows me into the gymnasium. Every two families share a huge table, and since we are only kids from the experiment, it's really not that much. I sit where my name tag labels, setting down a few select items. My family and a few friends file in, all congratulating me.

After a few minute of small take, our principal taps on the microphone. I cringe at the noise, but it did draw my attention to the front. "I have one announcement. Let's get this party started!"

We all scream and sjhout in response, getting onto the dance floor in groups. Blake and I find ourselves in the center of the area. "We have the spotlight, m'lady." He jokes, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind.

I giggle, pecking his cheek, "I love you so much, Blake."

"I love you too, Natalie Rose."
