Trigger warning...
Suicide warning at the end
Don't point any mistakes...thank you.
Also, the darker red is the color of what Alpha's eyes turn to. The lighter red is what Mitch's eyes turned into.:)
Scott couldn't help but think about how Mitch's eyes turned red. They weren't like the dark red that every Alpha has. It was a light red, like a rose color almost. It puzzled him to no end.
Why were Mitch's eyes red?
"Alex is gone," Avi confirmed, frowning at Scott. The Lead Alpha nodded, still thinking about Mitch's eyes. "I'm sorry about comparing Mitch to Alex."
"It's okay. I accept your apology," Scott replied, wondering where the Betas are. "Avi, did you notice anything weird about Mitch when he was yelling?"
"No, I didn't," Avi answered, raising an eyebrow. He began to worry, wondering what happened to Mitch. "Was he okay?"
"I don't know. He went to sleep before I could answer," Scott answered, shrugging his shoulders. He sighed as he looked back at Avi. "Something happened to his eyes."
"What happened?! Did his eyes turn blue? When will he stop thinking that he will get punished for speaking up?"
It's not that...
"Well, they didn't turn blue."
"What are you trying to say?"
"His eyes weren't blue."
"Scott, don't be ridiculous. His eyes only turn to blue and brown. He's an Omega."
"His eyes though."
"What are you talking about?!"
Scott bit his lip, wondering if it was just a figment of his imagination or it actually happened. He heard the door open, looking up to see Ben on the other side.
"What's the matter, Alpha Scott? You seemed worried. Do you need anything?"
"I'm fine right now, Ben. Thanks anyway."
Ben nodded, walking over to Avi. He looked up at Scott, wondering what was going. Scott made eye contact with Avi, his facial expressions serious. The other Alpha nodded impatiently, waiting for a response.
Here goes.
"Mitch's eyes turned red when he was yelling at us. Not like our dark red, a lighter red."
Avi shook his head, not believing a word Scott said. Ben widened his eyes a bit, thinking to himself immediately as Avi spoke up.
"That's preposterous, Scott. Mitch's eyes can't turn red. He's an Omega."
"He's not lying."
Avi and Scott looked over at Ben, waiting to hear what the Omega had to say. Ben looked at Avi seriously, his eyes holding every piece of honesty.
"How do you know?"
Ben looked away from Avi, looks at Scott once more. The Lead Alpha nodded, wondering what the Omega had to say. His eyes widened a bit when he heard the response.
"Because I saw his eyes turn red too."
~~~
"How could that be possible though?"
"It's highly possible," Tori spoke up, looking up at Avi. She opened up the laptop, typing in something. "It's rare, though. The statistics are 1 to 5% of babies each year."
"So an Alpha, Beta, and Omega could start experiencing this at birth?"
"That's right, Jessi," Alyssa spoke up, looking at the computer. She smiled as she got the right answer, looking at her anxious Pack. "However, in Mitch's case, it started when he was adult. Mitch, what age were you when you started experiencing this?"
"I was eighteen," Mitch answered, frowning a bit. Everyone looked at him, waiting to hear what he had to say. "It happened once though. I thought that someone was playing a trick on me by putting contacts in my eyes so I thought nothing of it. This is the second time this has happened."
"So you only went through this once?" Kevin asked, raising an eyebrow. Mitch nodded, afraid of what was going on with him. "That's normal. You're okay."
"What's wrong with me though?"
Toir hugged Mitch from the side, running a hand up and down the Omega's arm. She laughed a bit, thinking of her favorite book series.
"Mitch, you're what the Council calls Divergent."
"What?" Mitch asked, removing himself from the embrace. He looked up at Scott, afraid of the word. "What does that mean?"
"Divergent, adjective. Tending to be different," Alyssa spoke up, laughing a bit when the Omegas all nodded their heads. "You're different, Mitch."
"I don't want to be different though," Mitch whispered, tearing up a bit. He looked up at Scott, shaking his head. "I don't want to end up like Tris."
Mitch wanted to read the Divergent series, but it was a bit complicated for him to read. The Betas decided to write a 'children's version' for him while managing to keep the important parts and gave to him on his birthday. He read it constantly, crying every time when he got to the end of the third book. Scott held him tightly, tearing up himself.
"Please tell me people who are Divergent won't be hurt."
"That won't happen," Kevin reassured, looking at Mitch. Something appeared in his mind, a memory of some sort. It was him and Mitch, the both of them cry laughing over something that happened. He brushed it off, not kneeling why that happened. "When one is Divergent, that is not bad. That is something the Council actually admires. The Council considers the Alphas, Betas, and Omegas not as genetically impure but as special.
"For example, concerning the eyes. Let's say that Scott's eyes turn yellow even though he is an Alpha. He is considered Divergent and once the Council is notified of this, they will protect him even though he is an Alpha. The reason why is because the rouge group named 'The Committee' likes to steal the Divergents to do tests on them, especially..."
"Especially what?" Ben asked, walking over to Mitch. He hugged him, scared of the news that will be delivered. "Who do they kidnap the most?"
Kevin sighed as he looked up at Tori and Alyssa, wondering if he could say this even though it will scare the Omegas. The two females nodded, looking at the Omegas. The three of them looked at them innocently with tears gathering in their eyes, only breaking the Betas' hearts and worrying the Alphas more. Kevin sighed once more, looking at Mitch.
"They like to kidnapped Omegas, or in this case, Alpmega."
Mitch began to cry loudly, holding onto Scott with all of his might. The Lead Alpha hugged his Mate tightly, kissing his forehead gently. Everyone's hearts broke, wondering what Mitch ever did to deserve every bad thing that has happened in his life.
"Scott?"
"Yes, Mitchy?"
Mitch sobbed, only getting a tighter hug in response. Scott kissed his forehead once more, his lips lingering longer than usually. He began to cry himself when Mitch finally answered.
"I hate being different."
~~~
A gunshot was what woke Scott up. He got out of bed quickly, Mitch waking up after him. Avi went out of his bedroom, Tori following him while Kevin and Tori did the same thing. Jessi and Ben went out their rooms too, wondering what was happening.
"I'm going to check," Scott told everyone, looking at Avi and Kevin. "I want you two to come with me."
The both of them nodded, following Scott downstairs. Mitch watched them, hoping to find out what was going on. A loud gasp caught his attention, causing him to widen his eyes.
"Scott?!"
Jessi and Ben ran downstairs, afraid that the Alphas and male Beta were injured while Tori and Alyssa followed them, calling their names. Mitch followed slowly, walking to the door. Scott was crying for some reason, holding onto Avi tightly. The other Alpha had tears in his eyes while Kevin had a stoic expression, seeming like he couldn't believe what just happened. Jessi and Ben looked confused while Tori and Alyssa cried, hugging each other quickly.
What hap-
Mitch gasped at the sight in front of him, wondering what happened. Alex was lying on the ground, a gun near his hand. A hole was on his forehead, blood falling out of the wound slowly. A note was by other hand, one that was addressed to Mitch himself. He raised an eyebrow, picking up the letter to read it. He opened the letter carefully, not understating if one bit.
Mitch,
I'm so sorry. The plan was to kill you, but I didn't want that. You deserve to live. I apologize for doing this, Mitchy. I'm so sorry. Scott loves you so much.
Never forget that.
Love,
Alex
What confused Mitch the most was that Alex was sleeping so why would he be sorry for taking a nap in the front lawn? He tapped Scott's shoulder, smiling when his Mate turned to him. He frowned when he saw the tears roll down his cheeks, wondering why his Mate was sad.
"Alex gave me a letter that saying sorry to me. Why is he saying sorry? Is he sorry for taking a nap in our front yard?"
Scott cried harder, Mitch's innocents only break in his heart even more. The Alpmega frowned, wondering what happened to Alex.
Please don't let him take a long nap like Kevin.
A/N: It's moments like this when Mitch's innocence just breaks your heart.:( Where you expecting this at all? I had this planned for a while, the Alex part I mean. I'm so excited for the rat of this because of Divergent Mitchy.:3 Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed the chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
