{coffee and cream}

The faint melody of jazz drifted throughout the cafe, the bitter aroma of coffee beans soothing to the senses as Jungkook cast his gaze out the front of the store. Taehyung and Jungkook sat on a table by the window, drinks in their hands as they sat in silence.

Sliding his hands around the mug, Jungkook felt the cold chill of the winter air be replaced by the warmth of the drink in his hands, slowly bringing the coffee to his lips as he took a small sip, lowering it again as he placed it back on the table. In the small cafe, Jungkook couldn't help but hold his breath, his knees almost touching Taehyung's under the narrow table. Holding the mug tighter in his hands Jungkook's gaze remained dwindling out the window. He wasn't going to give into this... nope. He was not going to let his eyes trail back over to the man sitting across from him because he knew for a fact he would probably fluster again.

The way Taehyung absentmindedly stirred the cream into his iced coffee was so simply breathtaking, and the way his red tinted glasses rode low on the bridge of his nose was nothing short of attractive. Jungkook removed his elbows from the table as he sat a little straighter. From the corner of his eye he caught Taehyung brushing a loose strand of hair from his eyes, letting out a huff as it only fell back into place. Jungkook swallowed thickly, wanting ever so badly to reach out and fix it.

He hadn't noticed it earlier, but he definitely had the hots for Taehyung. But he didn't know why it just hit him all of a sudden? Was it his reassuring words a couple of weeks ago? Maybe it was their deep conversation the other night? Perhaps when they accidentally fell asleep beside one another... or maybe he'd just felt this way all along? He couldn't quite put his finger on it...

"Kook?" Taehyung spoke up, causing Jungkook's eyes to snap away from the window,

"Um... yeah?" He stammered, fidgeting with the handle of his coffee mug as he looked Taehyung dead in the eyes.

The blue haired male sucked in a breath, earning a confused stare from the male seated across from him until Taehyung finally broke, snorting before breaking out into the loudest fit of laughter. "Geeze Kook!" He laughed, holding his stomach as he bent over in his seat, "I've never seen you so stiff!" He blurted out, earning disapproved glances from the other customers seated at surrounding tables.

Taehyung calmed down, a wide grin still spread over his bright features as he leant back in his chair, "What's with you today?"

Jungkook's eyes grew wide before he diverted his gaze, "Nothing... just tired I guess."

Frowning, Taehyung continued to stir at his drink, "Is it about your father being in town?"

Jungkook shook his head, "No..."

"Then what is it?"

Pausing, Jungkook let out a breath, "It's seriously nothing." Jungkook smiled softly, bringing the mug to his lips as he took a longer sip of his coffee.

With a disappointed expression, Taehyung let out a sigh, "Whatever you say..." he mumbled, bringing his lips to the straw as he began to drink his iced-coffee.

Jungkook watched as Taehyung's eyes drifted over to behind the counter where a barista was working. Her dress hugged her form in all the right places, her mousy hair messily framing her face. Her freckles crinkled as she sent a smile to each customer and Jungkook found himself frowning, "Hey Taehyung..."

Taehyung's eyes didn't leave the girl, "Yeah?"

"What's with the girl?" He chuckled lowly, "Have the hots for her or something?"

Finally brining his attention away from the barista, Taehyung gave a light chuckle, lowering his glasses before completely taking them off, "I only have the hots for guys."

Jungkook couldn't hold back a smirk, "You don't say..."

"What about you?" Taehyung lolled his head to the side, "Do you think she's pretty?"

Giving a careless shrug, Jungkook leant back in his chair, "I mean... sure, but I find myself liking guys a lot more then chicks."

Taehyung rose a brow, "Bi?"

"Yep."

"I see~" Taehyung sung, taking a longer sip of his drink. He paused for a moment before gesturing back over towards the girl, "I was actually staring at her because I noticed something."

Jungkook frowned, his gaze shooting over to the girl, "What?"

"Do you see where her skirt ends?" Taehyung pointed out, earning an eye roll from Jungkook before the younger looked,

"Yeah... but what about- oh~" Jungkook cut himself off as he realised just what Taehyung was looking at. Narrowing his eyes, Jungkook noticed that half a tattoo was visible from underneath her skirt, the dainty spirals of daisies and leaves unmistakable, "District Unknown..." he breathed, earning a nod from Taehyung.

"Exactly... I'm guessing that's Bea." Taehyung added, not feeling too worried by her presence seeing as Hoseok, Namjoon and Seokjin would've most likely met her already. To be quite honest, he felt slightly reassured by her presence in the store, like someone was watching their backs almost.

Jungkook on the other hand tensed up in the slightest, still not completely trustworthy of everyone in the underground scene. "Maybe this is one of their businesses?"

Taehyung turned back to his drink, "We better stay silent about it then... don't want it getting exposed."

So just like that, the pair dropped the conversation. Only this time it was Taehyung's turn to study Jungkook. As Jungkook sipped at his drink Taehyung found himself swallowing as he watched the male's adams apple bob in his throat. The way Jungkook's locks fell softly over his eyes sent Taehyung's heart to skip a beat as he recalled just the other night when he had stroked Jungkook's hair. It was such a soft and soothing moment, the way he watched Jungkook drift into a peaceful sleep for the first time in weeks. Almost like the male was reassured by his presence.

Taehyung brought his eyes away, taking one final sip of his drink before pushing the cup away. He found himself melting into the jazz music that played through the store, silencing as he tapped his fingers along to the rhythm. It was a peaceful moment, all until it wasn't.

Startling the cafe goers, the sound of shattering glass rent the silence, sending Taehyung upright in his seat as his eyes darted to the source of the unexpected noise. The jazz music was turned off, and people paused mid conversation as all eyes shot over to the scene.

Taehyung's breathing hitched as his eyes landed on the male across from him. Letting out a hiss of pain, Jungkook stared down at his clothing in disgust as scalding hot coffee soaked into his hoodie. Standing beside him, a cafe staff member was frozen in place, standing over the shattered coffee mugs and silver tray cast over the floor. The woman brought her manicured hands to her mouth as she let out a gasp, "I'm so incredibly sorry-"

But she was unable to finish her sentence as Taehyung leapt into action, shooting out from his chair as he pushed the woman aside. He was quick to take a hold of Jungkook's upper arm, dragging the male out from his seat and across the cafe. Jungkook's face was contorted in pain as he stumbled behind Taehyung, sucking in a breath as they entered into the male's bathrooms.

"Taehyung what are you-"

"Are you an idiot!?" The male exclaimed, catching Jungkook off guard as he reached for the hem of his hoodie, "It's burning you!" Taehyung pulled up Jungkook's hoodie, peeling it over his head before casting it to the floor in a frantic state. Jungkook on the other hand could no longer feel the burn of the scalding hot liquid, instead he felt the crisp winter air elope him, sending him into a shiver.

Biting down on his lower lip, Taehyung's eyes were quick to examine Jungkook's torso. He was close, almost too close for Jungkook's liking as the male found himself almost flustering once again as Taehyung only got closer, until it was too close. The burning touch of Taehyung's fingertips against his skin was like electricity as the male ran his fingers over the lines of Jungkook's freshly done tattoo.

Jungkook swallowed thickly, "Taehyung... w-what are you doing?" he cursed at himself for stammering.

Taehyung froze, eyes growing wide as he took a step back.

It turned out that he didn't really know what he was doing either.

"S-sorry..." he paused, "I guess I just got carried away."

Jungkook rubbed a hand against the back of his neck, "Um..." he noticed Taehyung's eyes still on his torso, "It's healing nicely?"

"That's nice..." Taehyung replied, but it almost seemed like he was somewhere else entirely. Like this entire conversation wasn't even happening. He was tuned out, his eyes following the lines of Jungkook's muscles as he examined the male's smooth, caramel skin.

Jungkook didn't fail to notice where Taehyung's eyes were, "Tae?"

There was that feeling again, the feeling of his heart racing as Taehyung's eyes met with his own. They were both speechless, simply stopping to stare as they both wordlessly came to the realisation... that they were both so deeply infatuated with one another.

Taehyung had realised it a while ago. He saw Jungkook as a complex equation, and every emotion the male showed made his heart race. From the way he gave off such commanding authority, to the way he crumbled right in front of him made Taehyung think of Jungkook as some puzzle. One he just had to solve.

In front of him, Jungkook's breath came slow and steady as he lost himself in Taehyung's eyes. How they swallowed him up and made him feel loved was such a euphoric feeling, Jungkook had never felt so safe with someone before. He was attracted to him with the kind of heady trance that brought a butterfly to nectar. Taehyung, with the just the right blend of confidence and care. He was simply the most kindest and most reliable person Jungkook had ever met... reliable as though he could trust him with everything. Jungkook just wanted to bring those brown eyes home and let himself run his hands over Taehyung's golden skin, for he felt evermore calm with this man by his side.

He could no longer resist. Jungkook leaned in a little closer, their foreheads touching. Dear god he prayed for Taehyung to not flinch away, and he found himself letting out a breath of relief when Taehyung stayed just like that. Their breaths intertwined and Jungkook couldn't fight against the thoughts that were going through him. Taehyung's every smell was flooding his senses now...

It didn't draw out like Jungkook thought it would, he actually found himself relaxing as Taehyung's lips grazed against his own. Not innocently, like a tease but hot, fiery, passionate and demanding. Jungkook wanted to pull away before he lost himself but he couldn't seem to... in this minty moment, his senses had been seduced and he could no longer think straight. "Jungkook" Taehyung whispered slowly, prolonging each letter as if to savour them. Jungkook smiled, his heart fluttering at his voice as he reached forwards and clasped his hands either side of Taehyung's face. Never before had his name ever felt so wonderful, so he paused, before he leaned in...

And pressed his lips against Taehyung's

Unexpectedly, Jungkook's hand drifted to Taehyung's waist. It settled there and pulled him in closer as they depend the kiss. Taehyung found himself melting against Jungkook's warm chest, chiseled to perfection. Must he be so perfect?

Their breaths mingled, and his heart fluttered. It was a delicate butterfly of a kiss, Jungkook's arms encircling him as they drew close. It wasn't until when Taehyung pulled away did they both freeze in realisation, flooding back to their senses as they stopped at stared at one another. The atmosphere was tense, both of them not knowing what to say after such a scene.

Taehyung simply brought his fingers to graze over his lips, a delicate smile spreading across his face as he spoke,

 "Your lips taste like coffee."

{Author Note}

Guess who's back! It's me again, I skipped one update because I had a headache that night and couldn't be stuffed to look at my computer long enough to edit the chapter... but I'm all good now so here's another update!

I always struggle writing romance because out of the guys I've made out with, the kiss was always on the first date before we even established feelings soooo I've never had a building romance in my life... like ever lol. And in writing it's like, "make sure the kiss comes after the feelings!" And I'm like ahhhhhhhh but mine are always beforeeeeee. Lol thanks for listening to my rant.
