{burn it}

Jimin's senses were sharpened with adrenaline, the male holding his breath as a single gunshot echoed through the halls. The silence returned far more thickly than it was before the shot, as if everything around him was collectively holding its breath.

The cool air whispered through the small ventilation system but Jimin began to sweat.
Was that shot fired from Bangtan?
Or was it maybe the Jeons?

He didn't know, and he didn't have enough time to gather his thoughts as Yoongi's voice sounded through the phone, "Jimin what the fuck was that!?-"

"-I don't know..." He swallowed thickly, straining his ears as he sat beside the door, "I just wanna get out of here."

"Don't stress."  Yoongi spoke, the male's voice slightly wavering through the phone, "Taehyung should be there any second now-"

Jimin's head snapped in the direction of the door as he heard the sound of people rushing down the hall. They were fast approaching, he could hear their footsteps, almost as loud as his own heart. So bracing himself, Jimin placed his phone aside on the ground, taking caution to slip out his twin pair of knifes as he twirled them into his grasp.

His narrowed eyes focused on the door as the footsteps stopped outside, shadows casted from the light that cracked through. The door handle jittered a couple of times before Jimin heard muffled voices, followed by another deafening gunshot.

Flinching back, Jimin now rose to his feet, extending his knifes in front of him as he prepared himself for battle. But his stance softened, arms dropping flatly to his side as the door creaked open revealing a worried Taehyung followed by both Daisy and Sofia.

"Tae-"

"Thank god you're okay!" Taehyung exclaimed, slamming open the door before dashing to Jimin's side. He took a firm hold of the male's shoulders, eyes growing wide, "You're freezing!"

Rolling his eyes, Jimin slipped his twin pair of blades away, "Trust me Tae, I'm fine-"

"At least take this." The male uttered, removing his beige coat and draping it over Jimin's shoulders.

Jimin frowned, "Not necessary but-"

"How about a 'Thank you Taehyung... you're my hero~'" Taehyung spoke sarcastically, batting his eyelashes before earning a playful slap on the shoulder from Jimin.

Interrupting the bright mood, Sofia stood with her hands firmly against the door frame. Her expression was one of both fear and worry as she cocked her head in the direction down the hall, "Sorry to butt-in, but that gunshot was close... we need to check it out."

Taehyung pursed his lips, drawing in a lengthy breath of air before making his way back towards the door, "I'll go, Sofia and Daisy... stay with Jimin."

"No." Daisy interrupted, biting down against her lower lip as a strand of hair fell over her shoulder, "I have a bad feeling about this," She looked Taehyung dead in the eyes, "I'm going with you."

There was a moment of hesitation from the male before a sigh escaped his lips, "Fine." He uttered, making his way out the door, "But stay close."

With the smallest of smiles, Daisy made her way up to Taehyung, heels echoing against the concrete floor as the both of them rounded the corner and entered the hall. It was dark, the lights overhead dim and flickering. The walls were narrow and both Taehyung and Daisy couldn't suppress their growing senses of worry as they made their way to the source of the gunshot.

Out of caution Daisy looked over her shoulder a couple of times whilst Taehyung picked up the pace, heading straight towards the room that spilled with light. He could tell the door was open, muffled voices coming from inside until the unexpected happened.

As if it were natural instinct, Taehyung latched a hand onto Daisy's wrist, tugging the small girl behind him as he shielded her from whatever was to come.

Dashing down the hallway with the most murderous of glares was a man, but that wasn't the most shocking part about it... it was who that man was supporting.
Jungkook's father.
Drawing in a breath, Taehyung's heart almost began to beat out of his chest as his eyes roamed over the bloody sight, the male not moving aside as Kyo knocked shoulders with him on the way past. Taehyung stumbled back on his feet, almost loosing his balance entirely as his shoulder bumped into the man. Daisy however steadied him before her head snapped in the direction of the pair, "Is t-that-"

"COME ON!" Taehyung took a firmer hold of Daisy's wrist, dragging the girl down the corridor alongside him. He could feel a wave of nausea begin to wash over him, the thoughts too much to handle as he rounded the corner into the room with a heavy heart.

And then their feet stopped.

Standing in the light of the open door, all Daisy could do was bring a hand to her mouth, eyes widening as she took in the scene. Taehyung too fell speechless... his lower lip beginning to tremble as Jungkook screamed a painful cry.

Blood had pooled over the concrete floor, a single polished gun stained in the mess. In the corner with trembling hands stood Hoseok, hot salty tears streaming down his face as he choked back a sob. He stumbled back into the wall behind him, not even noticing Daisy's presence as he fell to his knees.

Forcing herself out of Taehyung's grip, Daisy dashed across the room, heels walking through the blood until she fell to her knees by Hoseok's side. Burying her head in the male's shoulder she wrapped her arms around his trembling form, weaving her fingers through his hair as she spoke soft words of reassurance.

From the door, Taehyung hesitated for a moment... tears welling up in his own eyes before he darted across the room to Jungkook. He reached out a hand, glassy eyes full of concern until he flinched back as Jungkook slapped his hand away, "Don't touch me!" the younger male exclaimed, moving back on his hands as tears continued to flow free. He opened his lips to speak but all that came out was a strangled sob.
Taehyung's entire chest felt heavy as Jungkook moved away, the male bringing his knees protectively to his chest as he scrunched his hair between his fingers, "I c-can't... no... I can't hurt anyone e-else..."

What followed those shaky words was a frown from Taehyung, the male moving closer despite Jungkook's need for space. "Jungkook, we've talked about this." He spoke, suppressing his own emotions as he blinked away his tears, "We've talked about this okay!?" Reaching forwards in another desperate attempt, Taehyung grabbed a tight hold of Jungkook's shoulders. Jungkook's watery eyes snapped up to meet with Taehyung's, the both of them reading each others expressions in the short silence. "I don't care about the Jungkook from five years ago! I don't care!" he repeated, and then wordlessly Taehyung held his arms wide open in invitation.

Gritting his teeth, Jungkook looked away before flinging himself into Taehyung's embrace with a sob. "I'm sorry." he cried.

Taehyung stroked the male's lengthy brown hair pulling him close as he gently rubbed Jungkook's arm. The apology made him fall silent, instinct telling him that this was not his apology, but one meant for someone else.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry... I'M SORRY OKAY!?" Jungkook screamed out, landing his head against the crook of Taehyung's neck as the tears fell faster. He let his body sag, his muscles becoming loose as he gave into the pain that flowed from within.

From across the room, Hoseok rose unsteadily to his feet, supported by Daisy as he reluctantly looked Jungkook's way. He just stood there, staring, taking in the situation that his mind refused to process. He took one step forwards, but paused, lacking the courage he needed to face the male as he turned his gaze elsewhere. "This sucks." he muttered, letting out a drastic sigh as he wiped away his tear stained cheeks, "This really sucks."

Daisy pursed her lips, "Hoseok... what do you mean-"

Everyone collectively froze as the sound of blaring sirens cut Daisy's sentence short, the girl moving closer to Hoseok's side as the deafening noise rung throughout the entire building. Taehyung too was surprised when Jungkook gritted his teeth, clutching a hand against his side as he painfully rose to his feet, "I agree, this fucking sucks... but we can talk about this later..." Jungkook tried to sound stoic, but his voice still wavered.

Noticing Jungkook curse in pain, Taehyung took a hold of the male's arm, draping it around his shoulders as he supported the male, "I agree... we've gotta leave."

"We can't!" Hoseok snapped, gaining the group's attention before his expression softened, "Not yet anyways..." his words trailed off as he took a hold of Daisy's hand, interlocking their fingers before gesturing towards the door, "We still need to take down this syndicate, or all was for nothing."

"But what the hell can we do now!?" Taehyung exclaimed, voice barely heard over the blasting sirens that continued to ring loud through the building, "We've lost!"

"NO!" Everyone's attention snapped over to the door at the sound of a new voice. There, standing with his hands firmly against the door frame was Jimin, a stern expression written over his face as he turned towards the group, "We can still tear down the syndicate..." He paused, running a hand stressfully through his hair, "... just in a different way."

"A different way?"

"Yeah... you might not get your revenge but we'll still escape this mess." Jimin explained, earning hesitant glances from the group.
This wasn't about revenge anymore... over time they'd unknowingly found a new purpose amongst the chaos.

Biting down against the inside of his cheek, Hoseok began to make his way towards the door, Daisy following behind. "Alright." Hoseok uttered, tapping a finger against the corner of his specks, "I'll listen to your plan on the way... lets just get out of this basement."

His word was final, everyone quickly regaining their composure as they all flooded out from the room and back into the hallway. Their feet sounded against the concrete but the blaring of the alarms overhead made it impossible to hear as they quickly made their way to the staircase that lead back up into the main level of the building.

The light was bright as they made their way up into that old dusty room, heading across the wooden floorboards until their shoes met carpet once again and they were heading back towards the main hall.

The sirens were now visible, red lights flashing overhead as people dashed about in a state of distress. As the group finally reached the main hall it was no surprise to hear rapid gunfire break out across the building, groups turning on one another in the panic.

Pushing aside his emotions for the moment, Jungkook grabbed Taehyung and pulled him to the ground. There was no cover in the open space of the halls, only the furniture to navigate around as bullets whizzed overhead and collided with the walls behind them.

Hoseok pulled both Sofia and Daisy behind the closest chairs whilst Jimin took cover under a nearby table. The orange haired male couldn't help but draw his lower lip between his teeth, for this was a hopeless battle. They were outmanned and outgunned, the syndicate had surely crumbled, but not just the Jeons... everyone was turning on one another.

The gunshots sounded as if they could crack a skull, the tin projectiles cutting through the frozen air, oblivious to their purpose. Each one ripped into something, be it inanimate or living, spilling blood over the polished floor of the grand hall.

Watching each gunman closely, Jungkook was quick to find a moment to drag himself and Taehyung over to where Jimin crouched. However he couldn't help but let out a cry in pain as he clutched a hand against his ribcage, biting down against his tongue to suppress the burn from within.

Jimin didn't fail to notice this, "Jungkook, what in the actual hell happened!?" he shouted, making his voice heard over the blare of the sirens and the pops of the gunshots.

Simply shaking his head, Jungkook looked out over the scene, "Nothing to worry about now... just give us a plan." He spoke, turning to the orange haired male.

They were surrounded. All around, all over, scattered in every possible direction was people firing in rapid succession. All Jimin could do was strain his eyes as he looked over the scene, "Yoongi said we should-"

Cutting the male's sentence short, everyone felt their earpieces crackle before a familiar voice rung through loud and clear, "There's nothing much we can do now... the syndicate has already fallen." Yoongi spoke, earning a huff from Taehyung,

"But we don't know if the boss man is even alive!" Taehyung complained, "What if-"

"It'll be nothing to worry about if he looses his men." Yoongi paused, drawing in a deep breath before he let out a drastic sigh. Everyone could feel the tension begin to rise and so when Yoongi spoke his words came heavy, "Right... I never thought I'd be saying this... but I'm calling the police-"

"What the fuck!?"

"Let me finish Taehyung!" Yoongi snapped, letting out a scoff before speaking once more, "We need the evidence destroyed, but the people to be caught... so burn it."

Listening in, Hoseok's eyes grew wide, "You're kidding-"

"No... I aint." Yoongi drew in another breath, his voice supporting a hint of reluctance as he spoke once more, "No fucking way are they getting off the hook like this- burn it down."

Clicking his tongue against the inside of his cheek, Hoseok was the one to respond, "Right, I'll remove the footage... the gangs will dissipate and the police will come down hard."

"Be quick." Yoongi said firmly, "As soon as I call the cops you have about ten minutes max before they arrive and we're all screwed."

"Got it." Hoseok responded, lowering his hand from his earpiece as he turned to the two girls by his side, "You lot should escape now, leave the rest to us."

Daisy parted her lips, but paused, breath falling incredibly short as Hoseok leaned in and pressed his warm lips against her own. She melted into it, feeling his love as he wrapped a hand around her middle, warm and soft. The kiss didn't last for very long, the both of them disconnecting as they stared wordlessly into each other's eyes, a silent goodbye before Daisy grabbed a hold of Sofia's hand and they both focused on making it out alive.

Not long after, Jimin followed by both Taehyung and Jungkook quickly made their way out from underneath the table, shielding their heads as bullets continued to whizz dangerously past their ears.

There was no use in Jungkook trying to control the situation anymore. Once chaos had been reeked it was impossible to contain a bunch of mad men, only another mad man could do that. The best thing they could do now was to expose the syndicate and make their final escape.

So that's just what they did, Jungkook stealing Taehyung's handgun from his belt as he rose it out in front of him. His expression fell steady, kind eyes narrowed in distaste as he gestured towards the candles that covered the tabletops, "You guys do what you need to do-" Before he could even finish his sentence, Jungkook watched as a man shifted his gaze over to the group, triggering Jungkook to fire a bullet straight into the man's head without hesitation. Taehyung only watched in horror as Jungkook turned his gaze back to the pair, "I'll watch your backs."

"G-Got it." Taehyung stuttered, moving fast on his feet as he rounded each table.

Taehyung's moves were frantic as he grabbed a hold of each candle, bringing the tiny flames against the fabric of the tablecloths and setting them alight. Hoseok did the same, watching as the flames spread over the scene like wildfire... all until he froze at the presence of someone from across the hall.

Through the crowd eyes of murderous intent were set on Hoseok's form, the man storming through the chaos as he began to raise his weapon. Hoseok swore his heart stopped beating, time slowing as he locked eyes with that man... Kyo.

His body reacted in a way he didn't want it to, muscles tensing as his feet rooted themselves to the ground in fear. He watched as that man grew closer and closer, scrunching his face and turning away his gaze as he awaited the impact.
But a different gunshot followed instead.

When no pain followed, Hoseok's eyes fluttered open, the male turning his attention back to the scene. He caught a glimpse of Kyo falling lifelessly against the floor, body splayed out as blood pooled around the male. He then lifted his gaze, lips rising into a thankful smile at the male who stood on scene,
"Namjoon... thank freaking hell."

Stashing his gun back into his belt, Namjoon made his way towards the group, "I think you guys have done enough." He spoke, already feeling the heat from the flickering fire that spread ever more over the furniture. Without warning he took a firm hold of both Taehyung and Hoseok, "Police are almost here- we need to run."

Flying through the scene out of nowhere came Jimin, snatching a hold of Jungkook as he dragged the male towards the exit. Stumbling along behind him, Jungkook rose a brow, "Where the hell were you!?" He shouted over the noise, feeling the fire grow behind him and the exit draw closer.

Jimin glanced over his shoulder before continuing to dash towards the exit, "Starting fires in other rooms... where else?" He chuckled, so stressed that he now found the entire situation rather amusing.

Jungkook gave a roll of his eyes, still shielding himself from the gunfire.
So with their backs turned, the blazing fire that loomed behind them raged and burned, warming their backs as they reached the grand doors. Crashes could be heard in the distance, gunfire, screams, cries. Fear subconsciously gripped at their hearts, pace quickening as they bolted out into the cold night.

They soon began to shiver, hearing the far sirens of the police arriving as the red and blue lights flashed through the dark, and from a distance both Seokjin and Yoongi's voices could be heard calling out to the group to hurry towards the van.

The boys sprinted through the darkness, hair entangling in the wind as they ran up to the vehicle as fast as their tired legs could carry them. Jungkook knew he'd broken a rib, but the pure adrenaline was enough to keep him steady as he, alongside the others, reached the van.

Yoongi slid open the back door, taking everyone's hand as he pulled them all inside. From the front seat, Seokjin already had his foot over the accelerator, pulling away from the curb as fast as humanly possible.
They had escaped...
And watching from the window, Jungkook looked back
To watch everything burn.
