"what do you mean?" Ace questioned as he held Abby walking behind me

"what do you mean what i mean? i'm telling you i want full custody" i sat on the couch looking up at them

"that's not-" he chuckled "that's not how it works" I looked at calm Abby as she looked around with her wide eyes

"this isn't a 'business' deal" i used air quotes "you can't just say that something isn't how parenting works"

"i just said it" he shrugged

"Listen she isn't like your other son or like Miguel she has to get taken to the doctors-" he kissed his teeth looking down at me

"you don't think i know that shit?" he questioned

"it's not shit and you can't walk in and out of her life as you please! this is why i didn't want you to be in her life because you-"

"watch your mouth" he warned me not breaking eye contact with Abby playing with her small chubby arms

"she has another doctors appointment and i don't want to go alone just in case it's bad news-"

"when is it?" he looked at me i swallowed nervously

"next thursday at 4pm" he closed his eyes and sighed

"i won't be able to make it" my cheeks and ears got hot and i felt something come out i'm pretty sure it was a laugh i'm not sure why but it did

he looked at me with confusion "something funny?" he raised an eyebrow

"you're pathetic give me my daughter" I quickly reached to remove her from his arms but he moved back

"nah you see this is why you need to realize who you're fucking talking to" he pointed at me with a free hand

"stop pointing at me i'm not one of your guys stop talking to me like you own me-"

"oh but i do" he smirked

"if you don't give her to me fucking look she's hungry" he looked down to see her sucking her small fist as her eyebrows frowned

"she's beautiful even when she's mad she's just like her mother" he kissed her cheeks causing her to become even more fussy

"can you stop you're just pissing her off" i walked into the kitchen putting some water on the stove as Abby whimpered

"mommy" Miguel walked out in his cars pajamas

"yes bubs" i tapped his chin

"can i sleep with you and Abby tonight again?" he rubbed his eye looking up at me

i sighed nodding Ace looked at me confused as Miguel went into my bedroom

"he's too old for him to be sleeping with you still" i rolled my eyes to his comment

"he's 4 he's not too old for anything stop talking crap because i'm pretty sure your other baby mama-"

"stop talking recklessly about my sons mother Camila i told you watch your mouth" the fact that he think he can punk me is funny

Abby started crying causing his focus to be put back on her

"stop taking to me like that this is exactly why i'm taking fu-"

"for fuck sake Camila shut up!" he cut me off as Abby cried louder

i told him to stop talking to me like that so you want to know what i did?

I cried...yeah I cried right along with Abby he looked at me surprised as i cried

"what-" he walked into the kitchen as Abby cries turned into whimpers she looked at me confused with her wet face

"Camila" he calmly said

"i told you to stop talking to me like that i'm not going to tolerate being disrespected by you i barely know you yet we have a child together and i still can't wrap my mind around this shit-" i covered my face

Ace pulled my hands from my face "relax"

"I can't" the tears kept falling as he came in to hug me i backed up shaking my head "stop"

I turned to see that the water was boiling turning it off i put the cold milk bottle in the water to warm up

"please just understand that i just want what's best for her and that you can't be popping in and out as you please" he nodded

"i will try to make it on thursday i can't promise anything but i can try" I nodded reaching for Abby

she ate her hand as he kissed her forehead

"get some rest" he mumbled turning around

"where are you-"

"in order for me to try to make it thursday i have to speed shit up so i'll see you" he opened up the door making sure it was lock before he walked out

"put the top lock back on" I nodded following behind him doing as he said

Abby had her eyes tear up again making a ugly face

"I know i'm sorry i'm going to give you your milk i know" i bounced her

"are you still thinking about it?" Taylor asked as she looked at Miguel playing with Roe

"No" I lied she looked over at me with a face shaking her head

"i am still thinking about it because i don't want this to be just like Miguel and she doesn't have a father due to his choice of actions"

"so stop sleeping with these men" she stated quickly

"you legit had a baby with Leo-"

"and i know what i signed up for I trust Leo i told him to come home to us and we pray before he leaves" she smiled

"i'm not in a relationship with the fool" i deadly said

"well build one-"

"he's always busy" I rocked the stroller back and forth

"of course he's going to be" she sighed standing up "Miguel and Roe come on!"

I stood up sighing was she right? should i try to build some type of relationship with him?

"I'm heading to the bathroom Tay" she nodded grabbing ahold of the stroller Abby was sleeping in

"we can go together" she grabbed the kids bags i shook my head

"that's too much it's okay" she nodded sitting back down to clean off the boys hands

heading to the public bathroom i saw this tall white man jump out of a black 2014 chevy cruze quickly heading towards me

i frowned speeding up my pace "Camila?"

i didn't respond as i was about to push open the bathroom door the man stopped me

"I have a few questions i would like to ask" he said quickly

"no-" i shook my head "whatever it is no and i do not know please leave me alone"

"Alvaro Dè Léon also know as 'Ace'" he air quoted

"I don't know shit about the person you just said but please leave me alone" i rolled my eyes

"so you don't know the father of your child?" he smirked

"nope" i lied

"crazy how he signed the birth certificate of your daughter" he shook his head

"who even are you?" i curled up my top lip

"i'm a FBI agent working with the FDA we've been working on his case for a minute now-"

"you know what I actually don't care anymore" I turned to head into the bathroom

"you don't want justice for Mateo?" the pale cop quickly said

I turned looking at him and he had a smirk on his face

"that's none of your business-"

"oh but it is actually! Antonio was the one who gave us a lead in the first place now if you want to talk about this at the station let me know i'll give you my card-"

"no thanks" my phone started ringing i took it out answering it

"hey girl you alright ?" Taylor asked as the kids yelled in the background

"i'm fine just had an accident that's all" I looked at the cop who gave me his card

"alright boo hurry i'm hungry"

"will do" i hung up

"give me a call" he walked off

Abby sat in my arms as the nurse wrote on the paper

"okay mom lay her on the scale please" the nurse smiled as i laid Abby down she kicked her legs as the lady moved the scale

"what a healthy baby" the nurse tried to tickle Abby but Abby spat up

"sorry she just ate" i grabbed her blanket

"no no it's my fault she obviously has a full belly" the nurse laughed

"everything looks good now we have to get the doctor in here for the physical and her shot and she should be alright" the nurse rubbed Abby feet grabbing the clipboard

"she should be with you right away mom-" she stopped mid sentence as she opened the door

I looked over Ace stood in the door way scaring the Nurse she looked up and back at me "i'm sorry who are you?" she asked nervously

"her father" he pointed to Abby as i dressed her back up

"oh okay well have a seat the doctor should be in here any moment" she opened the door wider

Ace walked in sitting next to me as i put Abby socks back on "surprised you came"

he shook his head he seemed more annoyed than his usual

"i'm not a dead beat-"

"could of fooled me" he looked over at me then down at Abby who was looking up at him

"hi beautiful girl" he took her out of my arms making her smile a little

"don't shake her up she just ate" he nodded

"i see her tongue" he turned her to show me how white her tongue was

"okay but-"

"stop nagging" he patted her back as the door opened

"Hello Mom and Dad" Abby doctor smiled as she put the clipboard down "and look at this pretty baby!" she coo'd

"Hey" I smiled as she took Abby from Ace

"how are you guys? how is Miguel?" she asked sitting Abby on the scale again

"i'm good just trying to handle the postpartum and Miguel is really well he's doing good in school" I shrugged as she nodded

"i feel you my second child wasn't easy and my postpartum was hell" she chuckled showing her teeth "i hope dad here is helping with that"

"he's been-"

"i've been working" he cut me off as Abby doctor checked her spine

"I understand someone has to be paying the bills right?" she laughed

"he doesn't even do that" i mumbled laughing at her joke

"so we have to give her a shot and check these small baby ears" she teased Abby rubbing her cheek

a few minutes went by and she started to clean Abby leg with a alcohol rub

"alright this won't hurt not one bit" she smiled holding Abby leg down quickly she stuck Abby

Abby didn't do anything until after she pulled the needle out the baby started crying

"i know i'm sorry! i know !" Abby doctor rubbing her leg putting the bandaid on

"gosh no matter how many times i see this i just can't watch" I said kissing crying Abby cheeks

Ace didn't say anything as this whole thing went down

The doctor pulled a machine into the room as i held Abby

"we test her ears now" she said closing the door back

she put the thing in her right ear that made a beeping sound that everyone heard Abby showed on the machine that she heard it

"right ear good" she smiled a little switching ears

the exact same thing was done but this time there was no reaction shown from Abby

"okay let's try again but turn it up" she said and I nodded

she did just that but no reaction and the doctor shook her head "okay i see"

she walked out with the machine as we waited

"what does this mean?" he questioned as his leg shook

"relax look at her she's fine she isn't sick she isn't hurting she's fine" i reassured him as he looked over

"yeah i didn't think my children would get this-"

"what are you talking about ?" i frowned

"my grandfather was deaf-"

"completely?" he nodded

"and your father didn't have it? your brothers or sisters?" he shook his head

"and i didn't think it would-"

"okay so" she walked back in "i have bad news"

"okay" i breathed out

"she is officially deaf in her left ear we can wait until she is 2 or 3 mom for her hearing aid but i'm pretty sure you would want that soon-" I nodded

"would this be an issue for her speech process?" Abby doctor nodded as her curls bounced

"she's going to have a delay in speech" Ace shook his head

"she's healthy and that's what matters she's is fine all around and let's just take our time with this" I nodded

Abby sat in Ace arms across from me drinking her milk as i ate my fries

"damn" he mumbled "i'm sorry" he looked at Abby

"stop saying sorry she can hear thankfully it's just not as good so please stop saying sorry it's not your fault"

"it is" he rubbed her forehead as she drunk "i didn't think it would be passed down like this"
