Chapter Three

"And I don't want to hear a word about this to that lout downstairs, got it?!"

Cyborg Noodle sat in the dark corner of the room in which she was kept, twitching, sparking slightly. She raised her hands up in front of her robotic eyes. Paint that served as her skin tone flaked off of them, the metal exposed and slightly dented around her wrists. Another attack from that lovely man she called "master".

It wasn't too bad, she supposed. All that happened was that he'd grabbed her arms so she couldn't leave, yelled at her for a while, and knocked her upside the head a few times. Okay, many times. So many so that she sported a small dent in the side of her head now. But she knew that he was capable of worse. Much worse.

She slowly got to her feet, wobbling a bit. Her vision was slightly compromised, which was something that'd need to be fixed once Murdoc came to his senses. She knew that would happen in about an hour or two, and he'd come in with his toolbox and his scrap metal and repair his damage, mumbling apologies all the while.

She had no reason to believe him. But she had no reason not to, also.

She then turned her attention to the clock on the wall. Through the broken glass, she could see it was about 07:00. Time to take 2D his breakfast, since she knew that Murdoc was in no condition to do it. (And that if he even made an attempt, 2D could go back to Essex in a bodybag.)

The robot grabbed a box of microwaveable waffles that sat on the ground, throwing them in her room's microwave and pressing the buttons. She didn't really know why her room had a microwave and 2D's didn't. She didn't even need to eat.

Putting the food (if you could call it that) on a tray when it was done, she carefully made her way out of her room and over to the rickety lift. She pressed the button that would allow her access to the floor with the "guest room" (really, just a repurposed sort of garage), and it started down the shaft. She hummed a song that she'd heard coming from Murdoc's room as it made its descent, and soon she was at 2D's door.

She knocked, though she knew she had pretty much unlimited access, for politeness. A few seconds later, she received a quiet "Come in", and did just that.

"Oh! Cyborg Noodle!" 2D seemed cheery enough, flashing a smile at the robot. "Nice seein' you down here."

Nice seeing me instead of the alternative, Cyborg mentally added. She may have said it out loud if she could; she was feeling rather rebellious that day. That was, if she was allowed to speak. She never knew when a camera could be on her, and Murdoc had eyes everywhere. So, she'd basically stopped speaking out all together, and when she did articulate her thoughts, she did so out of necessity.

"... 'ey, how'd you get that dent in the side of your 'ead?" 2D pointed to her. A click and whirr could be heard as Cyborg turned her mechanical head away without a word. "... sorry. Shouldn't've asked."

He waved her off in the most polite way possible, but she pointed to the plate, which remained untouched by the blue-haired singer.

"Oh, I-I'll eat it, you can go now..."

She only pointed more adamantly. She knew 2D hadn't been eating, she heard Murdoc say so. And she wanted him alive, more than anything. Not only out of necessity (God knows what would happen to her if 2D died), but as a friend as well.

"Geez, gettin' bossy today, ain't we? A'ight, Noodle... Cyborg... see?" He took a rather small bite. But for Cyborg, this was enough. Or at least, it was better than none.

But she hadn't taken more than two steps out of the room before she crumpled to the floor.
