Stapis: Tanzanite (Steven Universe)

Also this will be an alternate timeline where Lapis didn't leave with the barn. Also Steven does not know he's a diamond yet.
The warp pad shot up a bright beam of light as Steven Universe transported himself to the barn where his gem friends Peridot and Lapis Lazuli lived. Peridot was out with Amethyst for the afternoon so Steven knew Lapis would be alone. Which was just fine for him he had something important to ask her.
"Hey Lapis!" He called up seeing his friend sitting on the barn roof.
Lapis Lazuli looked down and her navy eyes lit up, "Hey Steven! What are you doing here?"
"Oh I Uh...had to ask you something," Steven said rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well what is it?" She asked summoning her water wings so she could fly down to the ground.
"W-Well I was wondering," Steven began, "how you feel about...fusion?"
"Fusion?" Lapis repeated.
Steven nodded, "I mean I know you had that awful experience with Jasper and Malachite but I was just thinking that maybe you'd be willing to try fusing again?"
Lapis bit her lip, it was true that she hadn't felt comfortable with fusing since she and the now corrupted Jasper had formed Malachite but she supposed it was time to try it again even if the thought did scare her a bit.
"Who were you thinking I should fuse with?"
"Well...." Steven began setting his phone down, "What about me?"
He began to play music from his phone so they would have something to dance to. He held his hand out to her.
Lapis looked a little nervous but she took his hand anyway. The two slowly began to move in a box step until their steps synched up. Then Lapis twirled the half human gem around, since she was taller then he was. Steven couldn't help but laugh and he felt Lapis toss him into the air. He spread his arms and smiled widely. Then he felt his gem begin to glow. Lapis had her arms open ready to catch him but at the last minute a look of horror spread on her face and she backed away leaving the boy to crash on the ground.
"Oww," Steven muttered.
"I-I-I'm sorry Steven," Lapis said spreading her wings before flying away into the corn stalks growing near the barn.
"Lapis Wait!" He yelled chasing after his friend.
He soon found her sitting on the ground with her head in between her knees.
"What happened?" Steven asked as he put his hand on her shoulder.
"I couldn't do it. I was ready to fuse with you but then I thought about Malachite. Even though after we split up I did miss Jasper one thing I didn't miss was our shared mind. It felt like I was her and she was me. Which I guess was true in a way. I could hear her thoughts and she could hear mine. She could hear all my fears and I heard her....laughing at me...telling me I was weak for feeling the way I did. I don't want that again..."
Steven frowned and he scooted closer to her, "I'm sorry. I didn't know. I wouldn't have asked if I had known this is how you felt. But you should know I would never make you feel like that. It's ok to be scared. I get scared all the time like for example I'm scared of snakes....they don't have arms..." he shivered in disgust.
Lapis let out a small chuckle and she reached over to hug Steven, "thank you."
"It's ok. It's ok to be afraid," they both thought together as they hugged. Suddenly Lapis and Steven's gems both began to glow together and then their bodies glowed with a bright white light.
When Lapis opened her eyes she felt different, strange even. She looked down at her arms and almost screamed. She had four of them. The two on top were skinny, definitely hers but the other two were most definitely not hers. Then who's were they?
"Lapis?" Steven asked, however the sound came from her mouth...correction...their mouth. They had done it. They had fused. Lapis and Steven pulled their shared body up and quickly found a puddle to see what they looked like. Their hair had Lapis's bangs and Steven's curls but the color was a deep indigo, they had four eyes, Steven's on top Lapis's on bottom, a pointed nose, and lavender skin. Their outfit consisted of a darker purple bodice but it tapered off in a yellow star like on Steven's T-shirt which exposed their stomach. Lapis's dress was now a see through skirt which showed Steven's shorts beneath. And finally on their feet they wore gogo boots.
"Who? What are we?" Steven questioned.
"I'm not sure," Lapis admitted, "but I feel like a rose quartz and a lapis lazuli should make a...tanzanite."
"I like it," Steven said, "but hey what's our weapon."
They thought for a moment and then Lapis used her powers to pull the water from the puddle and freeze it. Steven then set his shield on it which turned it into an umbrella.
"An umbrella?" Tanzanite questioned in Steven's voice, "who fights with an umbrella? That's just silly. Wait I have an idea. Lapis can you summon your...our..wings?"
"Sure," Tanzanite said in Lapis's voice. They summoned their water wings and took to the air. When they reached the barn Tanzanite's bottom arms picked up a hose then strung it from the roof before turning the water on.
"What are you doing?" Lapis again.
"Look." Said Steven's voice. The water had made several mud puddles, perfect for trying out their fusions rain boots and umbrella. Tanzanite ran toward the puddles and splashed in them laughing as they did so. Even though it was Steven doing most of their bodies movement Lapis found herself having fun, being silly and goofy as Tanzanite was a big difference then being destructive as Malachite.
Soon, since they did have Steven's human lungs, they needed to take a break. Sitting down on the ground Lapis spoke up, "Steven thank you. I had a lot of fun fusing with you."
Steven smiled with their shared mouth, "You're welcome. And I can't wait to show the other gems one day whenever you're ready."
