"Harper, let's go girl! I don't think these kids are gonna wait much longer," Damon, my character attendant yelled out to me.
"Be there in a minute!" I yelled back, adjusting the blonde wig that laid on the top of my head so I knew it wouldn't come off. I took a look at myself in the mirror smiling brightly, I still couldn't believe this was my job.
I took a deep breath and stood up, smoothing down the pink and purple dress my character wore. Walking out of my dressing room, I find Damon standing by the door to the meet and greet area.
"Ready to go?" He asked.
"Always!" I said, using my Rapunzel voice. Damon sent me a nod and opened the door which led to the front of my castle.
I put on my best princess smile and skipped out, following Damon to the correct door.
. . .
I was on my last meet and greet of the day, the last child had just finished taking pictures with me when a guy who looked to be around my age came running up to the non-existent line carrying a little girl of about four who was dressed in a Rapunzel costume.
Damon turned to the guy. "I'm sorry guys, Rapunzel has to head back inside the castle. She has to get ready for dinner with Flynn."
I watched the guy as he had to tell the little girl in his arms they were just a few minutes too late. My heart clenched as I watched her face fall, clearly upset she wouldn't get to meet Rapunzel.
"Oh that's alright, Damon!" I said, smiling. "I can definitely make time to meet this little princess! Flynn will just have to wait, I'm sure he'll understand."
Damon looked a bit apprehensive as this wasn't actually allowed to happen. We all had our specific times we were out doing meet and greets for and if someone missed it, that was it.
I smiled, holding out my hand to the little girl who was now stood on the floor.
"Hello Princess!" I said, still smiling down at her. "What's your name?"
"Ch- Charlotte," She whispered, clearly nervous about meeting her favorite princess.
"Well I'm Rapunzel! It's so nice to meet you!"
Charlotte giggled. "I know who you are!"
"You do?! That's great! Have you seen Pascal anywhere? He seems to be playing hide and seek with me."
"No," Charlotte smiled. "But I can help you find him!"
"You can? Yay!" I sent Damon a quick look and he nodded understanding what we were going to do.
I took Charlotte's hand into mine and stepped out from underneath the castle into the sun. "Let's go look for Pascal!"
The girl smiled, nodding her head. We started skipping through the park, looking for my Chameleon Pascal. Damon and the guy, who I'm assuming is her older brother, following along behind us.
