In this chapter, you will learn about Emily's past. Pre-warning, it is sad and dark.

Today is that day. The day where my friends and I talk to Melody about her bullying. And yes, this might seem weird as what I though of to do but I wasn't going to be mean. Classes were normal, I had a science exam and just casually sat with my friends at lunch. After school had ended, we all go to the cafeteria. There, Melody and Jim are waiting for us.

"So, what do you want?" Melody says, through gritted teeth.

"I want to know why you are a bully to all of those around you when really under that anger and bitterness of a shell you have, you are a kind and caring person," I say, smoothly.

"You want to know why? Well, I'll give you why! Taran cheated on me with my best friend. Do you know how much pain it is to see the one who you thought was yours, taking the face off another girl? Do you? Because after Taran happened, I had to get my anger out somehow, now didn't I? And if you are going to ask these really personal questions, then you are going to get on my bad side too!" She shouts, slapping my cheek. I keep my hand down. This my battle I need to fight.

"Look, can I tell you a story?" I ask. Both Melody and Jim nod.

~Flashback~

It's New Years Eve. My family and I are waiting for the countdown to start. Everyone is here; aunties, uncles, cousins, grandparents, even great-grandparents, mum, dad and my younger sister, all eagerly waiting. However, the house begins to shake as the countdown nears.

10, 9

Pipes begin to break, sending water into the house. Everyone starts to try and move but the house is much too cramped.

8, 7

Bricks begin to fall down. One by one, my family is crushed under a rain of falling bricks. Little kids scream at the sight before their eyes.

6, 5

I take my phone and my sister's hand and begin to run out of the house, desperately trying not to have the same fate as most of my family.

4, 3

I feel a huge tug on my arm. I look back and see my sister's lifeless body, a brick crushing her skull. I continue to run to the door.

2, 1

I jump out of the door, landing on my feet just outside the house.

Whilst many are cheering for the new year, I watch the house that I always lived in as a child go up in flames. And that is how I spent my new year.

~2 days later~ 

These past two days, I have been wondering hopelessley around because I have nowhere to go. At school, I have no friends so all my contacts are my family's which are now no use. It rained last night so I did drink but I haven't found any food. As I look up at a street sign, the sign reads 'Disney High'. Well, I can at least try and see if they have somewhere I can stay. As I walk up to the gates of the highschool, a woman, who looks about in her thirties, comes up to me. She asks me what I'm doing and I explain in very minimum words what has happened to me.

She nods, lets me in the gate and brings me to an office with 'Principal' written on it. The woman hands me a uniform, timetable and toiletries. 

"Welcome to Disney High, Emily," she says, smiling.

~End of Flashback~

I look down, I hear gasps of shock. Not even my friends know that. I'm about to continue to talk when I am enfulged in a hug. I look up and Melody is the one who is hugging me.

"I am so sorry Emily. No one should go through that," she silently cries in my shoulder. I return the embrace and we part. Jim comes up to Melody and hold her hand. The black-haired looks at my group of friends behind me and smiles to them all. She is really sorry. Taran and Eric come up to her and she hugs them both, whispering something in their ear to make them chuckle.

"Friends?" I ask, putting my hands out to both her and Jim.

"Friends," they say, shaking one of my hands. Everyone behind me cheers. 

"You guys want a sleepover?" I ask, smiling. The two of them nod eagerly and all of us have a sleepover at Wendy, Melody and my dorm. I am really happy things have turned out well between Melody and me.
